Some people here are disconnected from reality and are using their little free time to try to fly with FS2024 over their house. Everyone is doing what they can.It's respectable when it stops at that. But to feel like they exist, it pushes them to spread a lot of misinformation about FS2024. FS2024 is so bad on so many levels that the hype on social media has faded. YouTubers continue to suffer crashes of freezes and jerks of all kinds during landings. Despite the removal of air traffic to improve things, FS2024 becomes even more empty and lifeless. This suggests that FS2024 is like the release of FS2020! How amateurish! We must be approaching 100,000 bugs in FS2024, with these crazy images that made me laugh so hard I couldn't help myself. And the list goes on. The ASOBO/MICROSOFT team decided at the last minute not to attend FSexpo. We all understand why. It was much easier for FS2020.And I'm not even talking about the developers who suffered enormously and are still suffering from this complete failure. They can improve FS2020 much more than they announced,another lie . They can't get out of their own trap. FS2024 will never be good. Serves them right. They betrayed millions of gamers, from the youngest to the oldest. Those who placed their sincere and unwavering trust in them. Even those who broke their piggy banks to invest in new hardware to take advantage of this new FS. In life, everything has to be paid for, it's just a matter of time.

The above mentioned post is...well...just a little over the top. But through the rambling, lies truth: 2024 is been a disaster, a disappointment, incomplete, half baked, managerial misstep nightmare.

Beyond that, y'all just kidding yourself to protect your egos.

-The whole career thing should have been an add-on for ancillary revenue.

-Too many planes...which was mismanaged.

-Seasons should have been just added to 2020 and called it 2024. The 2024 rest is literally unnecessary nonsense

Are we talking about 2020 or 2024 here? I am having very realistic and satisfying flights with 2020 SU16 beta. Long live MSFS2020!

I'm very happy with 2020 too, with FSLTL injector and planes, as well as AIG aircraft to fill in the gaps.  Although when I try the SU16 beta I get trees in coastal waters unless photogrammetry is disabled. Hopefully that will be fixed soon.

That’s fantastic for you. Truly is and I’m glad you have that experience. Not me though. I fly over terrain and it’s clear then one second later, it downgraded itself to a mush of colors. It does what streaming videos do when connection stinks. Same behavior.

That looks really good.  2024 for me isn't that clear on my rig.  What TLOD setting is that and is it su3 beta?

It's an add on I believe so not MSFS textures but I could be wrong.  

Back to 2020, any idea when SU16 will drop?  Is it July 1?  Want to know how long I have before I have to worry LOL

Whatever the max value is … I only run 3440 x 1440 resolution so no issues with FPS.

That screenshot is from recorded video I made below (not even native screenshot capture) … at the end of my video, I land at Hayward airport which is outside of the Orbx Cities Vol 2.  The road/building/ground details are the same clarity outside the area of the add-on.

I have experienced that also (in MSFS default areas) but in my case it was an ISP internet issue at the time.  There are a few things that can cause this problem:

1.  Inconsistent ISP performance and or local network performance (wireless connectivity can cause this).

2.  Pushing your hardware beyond it’s limits.

3.  Other downloads (Windows updates or Steam updates) are happening during your flight session.

4.  GPU driver issues, old chipset drivers, even EFI outdated.

5.  Too aggressive an OC of CPU or GPU or RAM.

 

EDIT: I do have some external recording equipment coming that will allow me to record my flight session at much higher quality and have zero impact on FPS.  This was recorded with AV1 medium quality setting via nVidia app.

Yes, but the screenshot is from an addon which is why if someone doesn't have Orbx they wont see what is in your screenshot.  Its not a screenshot of 2024 textures. 

It's what we in sales would call bait and switch.  Hey, look how great 2024 looks in my screenshot

Bait and switch?  That’s a weird thing to suggest when I clearly identify the add-on in the video title?  And like I said, go to the end of the video if you want to see the same clarity outside of the “add-on” coverage.  

EDIT: Video is on Vimeo … no ads, no monetization, not trying to sell anything or make money from it if that is your concern.

It's really not a big deal and no one said you were trying to make money and yes, the title has the name of the add-on but in your commentary about what you could see in your screenshot in the thread you left out the fact you were looking at an add on. 

Hence why I only jumped in to clarify it was an add on when someone else asked why theirs didn't look like that.  And the answer was "because it is an add on"

So by not disclosing that little piece of information when describing what you were showing it's not total transparency and hence what we would call bait and switch in sales 😉

Not a big deal but people were already caught out by it.

 

To be fair, I see those things "in places" even in 2020 so I'm also not doubting you or questioning you in any way but yes, in most places add on textures look much better than default or we wouldn't really need them. 

Bait and switch is just tongue and cheek expression.

No I didn’t … provided a “here” link.  Sorry don’t see how this could be interpreted as “bait and switch” … not even sure how an Add-On could even be considered for bait and switch … the platform is the same MSFS 2024.  Maybe if I took a screenshot from MSFS 2024 and said it was from XP12 that could be considered bait and switch, but that is clearly NOT the case … I think your interpretation of bait and switch is out of context.

Anyway, the person reporting the blurry terrain indicated sometimes was clear and then suddenly became blurry … I listed the possible causes and hopefully he can make the time to check to resolve his issue.
