June 13, 2025Jun 13 I took a long break after 2024 release because the performances were garbage and I was very disappointed. I recently bought the best AMD cpu on the market (at least for consumer segment) : ryzen 9 9950X3D. I initially bought this cpu for my work and not for playing, I could have bought the non 3XD version for $200 less if I knew how MSFS was going to disappoint me (again): Fresh reinstall of windows & MSFS 2024, I start up at KJFK with default TBM : 30 fps, stuttery poppy mess, "limited by main thread" with lowest graphics. I guess my gpu from 5 years ago is not the problem (rtx 2080). This confirms my opinion that recent GPUs are mostly scam and useless and they deceit you with fake frame generation. The real issue is that developers suck nowadays and they should be ashamed. I'm done with MSFS, very disappointed. I guess I'll focus on my work and forget about gaming.

All pmdg, ifly, fslabs and fenix are giving me the same great performance. we still have the stutter bug at landing in SU3 beta, but it is not there when doing circuits, which is what I am doing until they finally fix it. June 13, 2025Jun 13 You have something misconfigured, because my lesser rig (7800X3D) runs KJFK at a smooth 60 fps (my refresh rate). I wonder if your BIOS/Agesa/Chipset are all installed and all is set up properly. It's not necessarily a turn-on-and-go hardware combo you have. June 13, 2025Jun 13 @ttbq1 Please try to disable rbar, (I know, it sounds counter-productive) in my case it helps tremendously with landing stutter. "Rbar stutters" likely refers to Resizable BAR (ReBAR) causing stuttering in games or applications. ReBAR is a feature that allows the CPU to access the GPU's entire memory space, potentially improving performance. However, it can sometimes lead to stuttering, especially on certain hardware configurations or when VRAM usage is high. Btw: I also have the 9950x3d, 64gb ram, rtx 4090, very happy with performance, just flew lszh to lppt with atc traffic everything, stable frames without stutters, it's a simmers dream come true...OP please find someone who can help you setting up your system to run optimal. June 13, 2025Jun 13 Lol I get 120fps with 2024 using an i5-13600k. Total user error. Edited June 13, 2025Jun 13 by MikeH99

I don't have the most powerful CPU or GPU and I don't experience any of the OP issues. I don't get studders even when flying around the LA area. Maybe try optimizing 2024 first with a empty community folder first. How long have you been in this hobby? 5 minutes? I ask because flight simulation get better every year! And if you think what we have today is so terrible, you dont want to go back 10,20, 30 or even 40 years. Pete Richards I've owned every version of flight simulator since Flight Simulator 3.0 in 1988. June 14, 2025Jun 14 Is the OP'S CPU one that is able to be parked? If so, then he may not have parked it, and so the X3D layer is not being accessed first? 5800X3D, RTX4070, 600 Watt, one or two 1440p 32" screens, 64 GB RAM, 4 TB PCle 3 NVMe, Warthog throttle, VKB NXT EVO stick, Honeycomb Alpha yoke, CH quad, 3 Logitech panels, 2 StreamDecks, Desktop Aviator Trim Panel. June 14, 2025Jun 14 Here's a great explanation of the problem, it helped me big time: PC: Gigabyte X670 Aorus Elite, AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D, Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4080 Super Aorus Master, DDR5 G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo 2X32 GB, Corsair HX 1000, Fractal Torrent, Samsung LC32 / G7 1440P.
June 14, 2025Jun 14 Author Thanks, after solving the parking cores issue it indeed is smoother, now I only got stutters due to lack of VRAM
