The only version I have is the default and I disabled that. Unless there is another way of doing it.

Gentle slopes I like. Having to go TOGA just to taxi over a slope is a little much.

Hello, make sure to do not have other katl enabled or have all the world update, updated. If you are experiencing big terrain ondulation or bump is not normal is more probably a wrong installation o setting. Make sure to have TLOD at minimum 150 for best result.

I have reduced the file for a lot of textures without compromise the visual in this performance update that is coming very soon. For sure will help. Regards, Matteo

They just lost me forever. Orbx can now go pound sand. I would have paid $100 for this but now they’ve lost me as a customer.

Just installed the update. I feel like stutters are improved, but they’re still there. Did 3 or 4 landings in the pattern and none at touchdown.

I see them start around 1600’, but I’ll admit atleast from my initial testing, they were tolerable. Base performance is still great for me - solid 117 fps.

I still think there is room for improvement but I think we are headed the right direction. Now we just need Matteo to figure out this terrain stuff. Watching the terrain transform on final is annoying along with floating lights and bumpy taxiways.

Did a few circuits with the newest update. The stutters are still there for me on final and in the vicinity of the airport, however are a bit better. FPS is still very high. Using AutoFPS and PSXT.

I did notice something spending some more time with this scenery; several light objects are floating around certain runways including some taxi lights and the runway guard lights.

The elevation mesh while a bit uneven in spots to me still really looks the part. There are a few airports where the elevation really is noticeable in real life compared to the sim, Atlanta being one along with Denver and Cincinnati from my experience. It still looks awesome to turn onto runway 26L and see the slope down, just as I have experienced for real hundreds of times.

On another note, if you are a user of Black square real taxi signs, you will need to reorder your scenery to ensure it has a lower priority than Orbx ATL. Not only will you have duplicate taxi signs, it also affects the mesh.

I think this scenery still looks pretty darn good, and while needing some refinement still, I am optimistic Matteo and Orbx can get it right with some continued work and future updates.

For now I am limiting my take offs and landings to the south side of the airport and using the 9L/27R, 9R/27L and L & M taxiways. I'm sorry but the Northside E & F taxiways are a mess. I sure hope it's addressed in the future as the scenery looks really good.

Speaking to another developer about these terrain issues indicates (yet again) that photogrammetry is the big problem. The terrain mesh geometry with photogrammetry is apparently not the same as the base mesh. I have been informed that it would be a lot easier if developers only had the base mesh to worry about when terraforming airports.

Another classic example of why I consider photogrammetry to have been "shoe horned" into MSFS. It is an option for a reason.

its still baffles me how people are happy having unfinished pay to beta products (again) Its a carbon copy of the release mess that EDDF was and the 350 after months and years of hype.

this reminds me of how people were happy to fly only in the day in p3d days because the dynamic lighting was so bad at night.

now we have people happy with a product so long as they only use half the airport.

I swear theres no other gaming community like this, that will so happily put up with half baked junk time after time like we do

I think a mess is too much. Which is your TLOD setting? Set to minimum 150. Make sure to do not have any other katl enabled. Based on my test + for many other people are perfectly usable. Yes there are some minor bumps but nothing nearly to be defined as a " mess ". The unique critical point is near the intersection for Delta TOC zone.

Matteo, I’ve been running 150 TLOD for almost a year now. I even tested with 200, 250 and above and regardless of how high I set the TLOD above 150, the north side taxiways are just too bumpy. I use the term “mess” as short abbreviation for messed up, not to trash the scenery. Maybe it’s a language difference. When I taxi down F or E taxiways around Ramp 3 towards runway 26L I can watch my ADI rock back and forth. To verifying it wasn’t just me, I streamed the event to a group of other users who own Atlanta and they concur, they’re all seeing the same thing. I even viewed around the airport so we could all check the other areas of terrain around TechOps. Again, we were all seeing the same thing.

I can assure you I have my other scenery turned off and disabled. I’ve been using FlightSim since FS1 and I’ve become pretty good at ensuring my scenery is turned off/on, layered, etc and my sims is running at peak performance. I have my system set for 100FPS in 4K and that’s what I maintain while I’m at Atlanta. For me it’s not about the performance or VRAM, I can easily handle that, it’s about the terrain on the on the E/F taxiways.

Seeing you quoted me, where does it say I’m HAPPY with it? I’m clearly pointing out issues in the scenery that I hope get fixed. I’ve already purchased the scenery before all of the issues were know as hundreds of other users did. The developer has made other scenery that are outstanding so we purchased based off of past experience with his products. How are we supposed to know this would be happening?

Now that we own it, we would like to have it fixed. Would it make you happy if we just ask for a refund? It’s a little too late for that and not worth the time. Besides there are a lot of things that I do like about the Atlanta airport that stops me from going back to the other versions.

I agree, I did not sign up to be a beta tester but were past that point. I’m sure you always wait for product reviews before you purchase anything. We can’t all be perfect like you. As for my last comment, I’m using the south end of the airport because it works. This is due to less terrain elevation. I did not say I was HAPPY to use the south side. I swear, stop putting words into other peoples post.

Also, running 150 TLOD on the ground in the complex sceneries is guaranteed performance issue even without AI.

id say the minute orbx got involved and it was released suddenly it was a red flag.

Id also not be happy if id bought it and I couldnt use it. When my mate bought it on day one (because of the hype) I told him to hold his horses and wait to see what the reviews from the community were as weve been bitten many times with this stuff.

Same happened with EDDF when aerosoft got involved. This is yet another perfect example of product release way to early due to probably pressure from the publisher not the developer.

Im more than happy to give devs credit where its due, (theres some good ones out there), but the minute I read orbx's were involved my better judgement told me it wasnt going to be ready on day one. Again we've all been here before many many many times., we dont learn as a community when we throw money at certain publishers on day one.

version 1.02 is out

Changelog:

• Drastically reduced draw calls by 60% for better optimization

• Enhanced PBR reflections across all airport surfaces and ground polygons without impacting performance

• Updated road line materials to react realistically to night lighting

• Improved texture resolution for the "Republic Services bin" object

• Enhanced detailing on cargo dolly vehicles

• Improved ground texture definition around the control tower zone

• Fixed visual issues with upscaled interior banner textures

• Fixed flickering decals

Given the continued release of fixes on nearly a daily basis, I do have to ask why, given the very extended development period, none of these issues were noted and addressed during the very long beta? At least the dev is responding to the multiple problems, which is refreshing to see, but I'm just surprised so many problems made it to final release. I'll be waiting quite a while before making a purchase decision for this one.

maybe because of ORBX pressure?

Aerosoft EDDF is very solid product for airport of such scale.
