Rex Atmos Core available soon - MSFS 2024

Featured Replies

As long as Atmos doesn't include dynamics, I won't buy the MSFS2024 version, even if it's cheaper as an upgrade. Having to adjust the controls for every situation is not my intuition. This has to be done dynamically according to the weather. If the parameters are right, more haze results in different sky colors. Fixed settings are not an option here.

  • I like REX.  I just don't know though on those 2 shots... the one on the bottom looks really edited on my monitor.  Maybe its because I dont use HDR and only run at 1440p. I think the atmosphere

  • What would be nice is if it changed dynamically. I don't know if it's possible, but back in the days of REX on P3D I changed the sky color at dawn during the day as well as the sunset so as not to hav

  • That's an odd Before/After comparison they show on their site...the 'Before' pic (default MSFS) actually looks more realistic and pleasing to my eyes....

I'll stick with re-shade.  2024 skies are beautiful as is.

Can you give me advice how to get reshade working with msfs2024 and what settings / Profile you use ?

thanks for your Support, Carsten

Well this is disappointing.  I was hoping for something good here.  I will need to see a few more reviews, but so far it isn't very inspiring.

Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind).

I like to trick airline passengers into thinking I have my own swimming pool in my back yard by painting a large blue rectangle on my patio.

Intel 14900K in a Z790 motherboard with water cooling, RTX 4080, 32 GB 6000 CL30 DDR5 RAM, W11 and MSFS on Samsung 980 Pro NVME SSD's.  Core Isolation Off, Game Mode Off.

Classic example for why adding more options for the user is not always the way to go? Bummer, I was looking for this one but it seems a no-go after the first reviews...

That's one of the reasons I didn't like it in 2020 but put up with it.

Basically found the one preset (Lupo) that I thought covered most conditions. But you had to manually find it in the filters and enable every time you ran the sim. It just became one of the many chores you have to do just to start the word not allowed thing.

That's a totally false statement....

You simply set the presets as favorite and they will auto load on startup every time.

Some of you are so insufferable and biased against certain developers you'll nitpick and say anything to carry on a narrative.

Pretty pathetic honestly!

Wow!  That's pretty extreme.
The guy bought it for 2020 and uses it just like me.  Maybe he just never knew about that feature and it needed pointing out to him like you just did, that's all.
I never knew about it either until you just mentioned it - thanks!

And as for the new version, my money was in the slot and ready to go as I actually want the product, but as you can see, there are a few valid concerns that need to be looked into more closely before people part with their cash, and that is surely the right thing to do before people part with their money.
No hidden agenda at all there, just concern.
This is different from people who have an issue with REX, who are easy to spot.

Then again, I currently have a bit of a thing (justifiably I think) about Orbx, so...

Well, he has a valid point. If you use a product for several years and the point of not being able to let it run with the desired preset when firing up the sim, one could expect that you once in a while ask the dev or here in the forums BEFORE you go around and tell everyone that the software is sh* because of a shortcoming which actually doesnt even really exist.

Well, I have to disagree there: Georgleboui did not mention that ATMOS is sh* as you write. Please learn to read for meaning!

So if you don't want it to look the same on every flight, you have to change the preset.  Not for me.

Yep, it's another thing taking hold lately. Too much hyperbole and exaggeration to try and score a point - not necessary.
I must have mentioned it a million times lately!

Quit defending negative grouchy users who quickly jump to conclusions and falsely trash a product due to USER ERROR and NOT READING THE MANUAL!

Please explain to me why then avsim forum autoreplacement did replace a word with "word not allowed" in his post?

If he means the whole sim with "word not allowed", then yes, I misinterpreted it.

I never knew, so that relates to me then, so just defending myself if that is alright with you Snarky-Sharky! 🙃
A
lthough I never slagged the product off for it, I just thought it was a 'characteristic'!

Oooof Got me there!🤣🍻

But jokes aside, what makes you hesitant on the MSFS 2024 version?

What do you dislike about the 2020 REX Atmos?

I can't sim without it and Reshade alone just isn't enough for these sort of visuals!
