Okay.... Went out bought Pacific Islands Simulation (PacSim) KRDU.... look, RDU been my favorite lunch spot for 41 years to go plane spotting. Pacsim's version, Very Nice, Looks Accurate, Plays Great, definitely recommend this updated rendition of Raleigh\Durham International.  We all want our hometown fields to look their best Pacific Islands Simulation brings that third dimension to RDU.    For me, Traffic provided using BeyondATC, and I have always turned up the mix, aircraft placed as real as any day at any airport seems to go.  Especially at RDU where traffic numbers break the previous numbers most every day, not bad for a landlocked non-hub airport, 14 international flights to 10 countries. Not unusual to spot B777's B787 A350 A330 or possibly upcoming A340 in RDU's future.   No wonder we are the 3rd happiest city in the USA.  I bought from   Pacific Islands Simulation website, also picked up Columbus on sale... cya in the skies.

Steve

I'm going to pick this up.  RDU has a special place in my heart.  There was a point in my IT career where I was flying into RDU every two weeks to work with some of the companies in RTP (Research Triangle Park).  This was during the late 2000s into the early 2010s.  I remember there was a LOT of construction on the terminals back then.

I also had the same TSA guy check my paper boarding pass at my home base each flight.  He would say to me, "Tell those Triangles hi for me" or "How is that research on those Triangles coming" each time lol.

I loved LatinVFR's edition in P3D, so I'm curious to see how this version stacks up with all of the changes.

Thanks for your input @sluihn Steve, that was nice to read.

It's Captain Steeve's home airport!

Already own the feelthere version.

Would upgrade if it was a major change

MSFS 2024 -Too many airplanes to name. Too many airports to name.

Flew into PacSim's RDU this past weekend at night. Man, they did a really good job capturing the surroundings at night with the LED type light poles casting perfectly on the scenery roads and buildings around the field. Only if the rest of MSFS looked this good at night.

Email them. I got a link quickly after sending it. I included my order number in the email.

I had several PacSim sceneries in P3D… always enjoyed them. I already have a 3rd party RDU in 2024. Is there significant enough of a difference for me to purchase it again.

The thrifty part of me resists… unless there’s an overwhelming reason not to….

Did they take the time to property space out centerline greens on the taxiways? Or did they basically just leave the default oddly placed lighting?

@cavaricooper RDU is my “real life” airport for passenger flight. The PacSim version seems to be a real step-up from the FeelThere version. Certainly it is a major improvement from the viewpoint of a passenger – the main terminal (2) is very well modeled on the interior and the secondary terminal (1) has a partial interior. The roadways and parking and freight terminals and the large FBO (with a Wright Brothers interior) are well represented. I have not really tested the details of its functionality.

With the usual caveat about different priorities and tastes, I would give this a hearty endorsement.

This is an excellent rendition of KRDU.  Vastly superior to the "Feel There" version I've been using for three years.  And I also downloaded both versions (2020 and 2024), which they are offering for no additional charge.  I also own their KSLC, KRNO, KCLE, KGSP and KCMH airports, and they're working on getting those compatible with MSFS 2024.

I own those PacSim airports also and they work fine in 2024.

I am running the 2020 versions of KSLC, KCLE and KCMH in 2024.  I have not encountered issues.
