I'm a sucker for a pretty face 🙂 (@St Mawgan definitely my only 777 - nothing else required! 🙂 ) tagging @Christopher Low as I think he might still be in the market for a big Boeing at

  • Just depend your level of realism: If you don't care about realism, just get the 777-200LR as Luis Hernandez said. It's the cheapest, same quality of the other 777. I'm sure you will find fiction

Yeah you’d have to be crazy not to bite with that kinda discount!

Dang! I liked the 777F so much that I went ahead and purchased the 777-300ER. PMDG may have taken a lower margin with their sale, but they just sold two planes to someone who has never flown airliners before. Maybe IniBuilds will follow suit so that I can rationalize their $80 A350. I’m sure it’s worth it, but compared to a $55 777, it seems expensive. But dang, those cabins look sublime on the A350’s.

They already had a sale on it about a month ago, reducing it to 60.

You missed it.

Thanks! Wasn’t flying tubers then, but pleased to know they do put it on sale. I’ll be ready the next time.

I still haven't pulled the trigger but probably will today. I am doing some serious waffling. Currently I have the -600, -800, and  all the T7s but the LR. Originally I was pretty set I'd get the -900 and the LR, but the -700 has entered the chat. I also fly in 2024 the most.

LR: This would likely replace the a350ULR as my ultra haul long option. But, having the a350ULR almost makes this a moot point. I do, overall, prefer the T7s to the a350. I do, however, wish the T7s had the autosave feature the a350 has. Preferences aside, the ability to recover from a sim crash in the a350 is not underrated. It's also out of the box 2024 native.

900: This would round out the size classes for the 737s. While not equal with the 600, 800, 900 I'd kinda have the same as the a319. 320, and 321. While facing an upgrade fee, I am hoping rather the lower priced models have a lower upgrade fee.

700: The main reason I'd get this is for the extra range on the BBJ1. There are more BBJ1 liveries out there. However, I'd likely save $19 to have most of that eaten up by an upgrade fee. This one also would likely face the harshest livery armageddon when it goes to 2024. I've noticed the painters are very slow to adapt to creating 2024 liveries. I haven't seen a whole lot of upgraded liveries for the Fenix BFU, for instance.

Getting either of the 737s would likely prolong my life in 2020 rather than shorten it. Which is fine. It's not like 2020 is enduring a suffering.

I am kinda not thrilled at spending $70 for a pair of planes I may not fly that much. So given I am in 2024 the most, the sane path is to get the LR and reevaluate the 900 and 700 after they move to 24.

INI drops stuff on sale quite a bit and have flash sales.

Exactly.

And yet there are still people complaining about how "expensive", "unfairly priced", and "anti-consumer" the PMDG's are.

And when I ask them if I can buy an iB A350 for $50, or a Fenix A319 for $36, wellllll...all I get back is sputtering excuses. 🤣

When I remember paying about $250 for the PMDG 747-8 in P3D, I'm pretty dang satisfied with PMDG's new pricing matrix, thankyouverymuch... 🙂

Oh, man - I go through the same exact kinds of decision trees. 😁

Where I always end up is asking myself, "What new capability is this purchase going to get me that I don't already have...?"

followed by, "Is there an actually different aircraft I also want?", like the Aerostar.

and I end up with, "How proficient am I in all my other "must have" addons?" e.g., I've barely flown the iB A300-600 Premium (which purchase I justified by the 50% sale price)...

Then when I sit down in the sim the next time, I almost invariably find myself back in the FSR500 or the 737 BBJ1 or the lovely new OH-6A (which has completely stolen my helo heart).

What I've finally figured out is that (for my tastes), I prefer completely different aircraft rather than shades of gray variants.

If I were making the same decisions as above, i'd honestly stay pat because there's already a LOT of overlap. YMMV, of course 🙂

We try to be rational with decision trees , MECE options (Mutuallaly Exclusive, Collectively Exhaustive), etc. but look: fact is we all love planes. It's not only a matter of brain but also of heart 🤣 See, I bought the 300ER thank to you, because it was on sale and I like its shape, but I cannot say that I really needed its capability, I cannot say either that I'm proficient with the 200ER, or the ini A350 or the Fenix A320. But hey, I think I have all the necessary now regarding airliners for the next 3-4 years... until a study level 787 is released.

just at the pdmg site now to buy a few of these - but can only see a $5 USD discount on the 737 800 and 700 nothing else is on the sale  except the DC6- what am I missing and where is the 28%discount do you need to apply a code?

"Between now and end of the day UTC,  August 10th, enjoy 28% off your order total".

Right now it's not end of the day UTC yet so I don't know why the 28% are not applied for you. When I bought the 300 two days ago, the discount was automatically added in the cart. No coupon needed.

Yes, correct. The discount is automatically applied at checkout.

I've just tried with various A/C (777, 737, etc), it works and the 28% are applied.

ahh yes.  The old decision tree.  The 777-200LR was the only MSFS pmdg plane I didn't own.  Told myself this morning I didn't need it and would barely fly it.  2nd part may be true.  Now I'm 4 hours into KATL-FAOR in the LR
