PMDG 28th birthday SALE

Featured Replies

I think I am gonna just get the LR. It's the only T7 I don't have. With a pending upgrade fee coupled with how little I fly in 2020 I am just gonna wait until the -900 is out for 2024 and revaluate.

I'm a sucker for a pretty face 🙂 (@St Mawgan definitely my only 777 - nothing else required! 🙂 ) tagging @Christopher Low as I think he might still be in the market for a big Boeing at

  • Just depend your level of realism: If you don't care about realism, just get the 777-200LR as Luis Hernandez said. It's the cheapest, same quality of the other 777. I'm sure you will find fiction

I try do decide between the different 777 Versions.

What is the best way to see actual routes (departure and destinations airport, duration) of a specific 777 Version?

I have used the list of 777 operators from wikipedia and search for the fleet in flighradar24, then open the routes of the actual planes, but it

does take many clicks for each operator.

One way is to just google "flightaware B77W" and it will return all the active flights. It's not perfect, but close. Or if you know city pairs you can can google "flightaware ORIGIN DEST" and it will return a table with the scheduled flights between those destinations. From there it's easy to see which airframes they use.

The challenge is, the 777-200LR and the 77F both show as "77L" on flightaware so it's not very helpful for those.

EDIT: One bonus to the 772ER is it comes with EAL livery, and you can get some of the private operator liveries on .to. Eastern is now a charter airline so the world is your oyster.

Is there a difference in quality, performance between these versions?

I really just want a nice aircraft to fly transatlantic and down to South Africa from Europe.  It doesn't need to exactly match an airline or route.  Which should I go for? (passenger)

If you don't care about liveries, go with the cheapest one: the LR. All have the same quality and FPS impact. The LR has the best range of all the 777s.

Just depend your level of realism:

If you don't care about realism, just get the 777-200LR as Luis Hernandez said. It's the cheapest, same quality of the other 777. I'm sure you will find fictional liveries on .to for most of the airlines using the 777. So you can use the 777-200LR and pretend it is an American Airlines 777-200ER.

If you care about realism, wanting to fly the exact type used by a precise airlines then consider that the 777-300ER is the most used worldwide.

On the contrary, the 777-200ER start to disapear in great number. Most famous airlines still using it: United, American, British Airways, Air France, ANA.

If you prefer to haul cargo, the 777F can be your choice. A lot of airlines are using it and it open shorter routes than the 777-200Er or 777-300ER.

Fictional liveries are a bit limited atm, but the 777-200LR is my favorite 777 in terms of looks.

Go on the websites of SkyTeam Virtual, Star Alliance Virtual, and OneWorld Virtual, click on their routes menu, filter by the 777 variants you're interested in, and check all the real-life routes. They also have delivery flights there as well. Enjoy.

looks like I have no further excuses to defer the 777 acquisition!

The only place to get this is the Marketplace, right?   It's been so long since I bought the 737-700 I can't remember where I bought it from.  Maybe it was from the PMDG website?

IIRC, it’s only on sale from PMDG.com.

while I do purchase from the MP, all my PMDG’s have been direct from the dev.

I have always been a GA, bush and helicopter simmer, but I picked up the 777F this morning! My first airliner purchase ever. Gotta admit, I like it a lot. Now that I have a super versatile cargo plane, I’m thinking my strategy towards future 2024 tuber purchases will be:

Regional Passenger - Fenix A320

Long range passenger- IniBuilds A350

Another plane that’s not a Boeing or Airbus - Justflight RJ Professional, BAE 146 or Fokker 70/100 when it’s released

And when Blackbird releases the 757 that one will probably have to be added to the list as well.

Thanks, very useful and handy. They even have a map, where you can show the routes.

Yeah cargo planes are just cool.  I have/had the PMDG 777F for P3D, actually I think it was sold as 777-200LRF or something like that.  I will be rusty though...I haven't had a 777 flight in probably about 5-6 years.  You think my 777 sim type-rating has expired?

I believe Blackbird is doing the 757-200F and it's a nice cargo jet too.  In fact it is/was the plane-of-choice for many routes to South America, because a -200F could be a hot-rod getting out of high altitude airports.  Well-suited for it.
