  • Different strokes. I was flying earlier today, and thought the clouds looked so good that I decided to take a few screengrabs.

  • No issue so far. At the first launch, when I quit (properly) MSFS2024 never closed itself. After a reboot, didn't have the issue anymore nor any others detected (yet) 😉

"I think the MSFS team wants a solid and stable release for this Sim Update." Exactly.  SU1 and 2 had to be rushed out to sort out critical bugs that were making the simulator only marginally usa

TBH, cannot tell the difference from MSFS2020

MSFS2020, 24, Fenix A320,  Ryzen 9 9950X3D, ASUS TUF RTX 5090 ,G.SKILL 64GB 6000MHz CL28

It's a good update. The way MSFS 2024 improving makes me think of deleting FS2024. Thanks Asobo.

No they haven't.

I kind of agree because the clouds IRL were pathetic today.

Yes, I've always enjoyed the 2020 Cirrus clouds.....

I'm flying SU2 in PNW today with live weather and the cirrus are the best I've seen yet.

I think the MSFS team wants a solid and stable release for this Sim Update. I don't see any need for them to rush either.  If you can't wait, you can always join the SU3 beta.  They shouldn't release anything that's worse than SU2, so that means they need to take their time to get SU3 right.  And people are free to join the SU3 beta anyways, there is nothing to stop you from joining it.

"I think the MSFS team wants a solid and stable release for this Sim Update."

Exactly.  SU1 and 2 had to be rushed out to sort out critical bugs that were making the simulator only marginally usable.

SU3 represents a new, non-emergency stage, as will future SUs, where the priority is to get it right.

Can MSFS 2020 do this with default scenery?

i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM

High End Preset and TAA (except traffic and texture resolution Med). This build is quite solid

WHAT

this-is-not-real-life-this-is-flight-sim

It may look better on the ground but for me the contrails (lack thereof) and the possibility to use a free traffic addon to avoid the pathetic mess of AI traffic at any airport are much more important.

Also, there are other shortcomings with FS2024 graphics, see the overexposed landmarks and the bad night lighting that have not been fixed in 9 months.

I too have deleted FS2024 because of the way Asobo is improving it. Nice lapsus.

The first photo you have of the deformed pilot, you shouldn't get that anymore in SU3 (if you download it)  because you can download content now, instead of streaming it. My understanding is that it happens because of your internet connection to the MSFS server, but in SU3, you have the option of downloading content in your Content Manager instead of streaming it.

The night photo you have of overexposed landmarks, I honestly haven't seen that yet in MSFS 2024. Are you using an incompatible add-on? Regardless, I haven't run into that issue yet with overexposed landmarks at night, maybe you can report this bug if it's happening to you.

All I can say is, I am generally satsified with how MSFS 2024 looks at night, and I am very, very happy with how MSFS 2024 looks outside cities, just as the Fairmont Banff video shows, because I see beautiful locations in MSFS 2024 around the world.

TBH, 2024 has many nice things. Sadly, night time is not one of them.

Watch this, its very very bad.
