Sim Update 3 Beta (1.5.25.0) - August 13, 2025

Featured Replies

Nope, zero addons. That is the default Rome, Italy, just for example but there are many PG cities whose landmarks look like that at night.

  • Different strokes. I was flying earlier today, and thought the clouds looked so good that I decided to take a few screengrabs.

  • No issue so far. At the first launch, when I quit (properly) MSFS2024 never closed itself. After a reboot, didn't have the issue anymore nor any others detected (yet) 😉

"I think the MSFS team wants a solid and stable release for this Sim Update." Exactly.  SU1 and 2 had to be rushed out to sort out critical bugs that were making the simulator only marginally usa

I personally have flown all over the world in 2024, and never had that problem with nighttime flying. now that they improve their streaming and added content downloading all my ground texturing is sharp and word not allowed great whether I'm at 350 ft or low in a prop or heli. Not saying pt's a problem for you, but it's something that you need to report because I can't reproduce it and never had it.

I honestly have no clue how people can say nighttime flying is good. It doesn't make any sense. Its worse than FS2020.

Not sure what your beef is. We all want utmost fidelity, but in the end this is software claiming to SIMULATE the experience of flight, not to REPRODUCE it.

What ? I am not even sure what you said 🙂

After Steam updated MSFS 2024 to the latest SU3 beta build, I started the sim and tried to load a flight. It hung during “Starting Flight”, so I closed the sim and restarted Windows. Since then, MSFS 2024 no longer loads — it gets stuck at 97% on the main loading screen.

Troubleshooting I’ve tried (Steam version):

  • Disabled Steam Cloud and deleted local cloud data (userdata\<SteamID>\2537590).

  • Deleted the entire %AppData%\Roaming\Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 folder.

  • Searched for and removed UserCfg.opt.

  • Moved Community folder out and renamed it.

  • Searched for Official\Steam folders to remove possible corrupted core files.

  • Verified game files via Steam.

  • Tried offline launch.

  • Tried starting with empty Packages location.

Nothing has resolved the 97% loading hang. Looking for advice from anyone who has experienced this after the latest beta update or knows of a fix.

Thanks in advance

Yonatan Poller

I reported it a couple of times already, no feedback of course. Also other people reported it, maybe you have never flown on those locations or keep PG disabled or other reasons...

It's a good update. The way MSFS 2024 improving makes me think of deleting FS2024. Thanks Asobo.

I mean deleting FS2020. LOL

Ok, so...

been testing this last 1.5.25.0 beta, and overall very glad with what I see & "feel"...

Smooth, although I can't complain about FS 2024 not being smooth and stutter free most of the time, the weather although not being touched since a while is overall a very acceptable representation of it's RW counterparts, at least around the areas I can easily compare between RL and the sim, using the cameras at the Portuguese airports that I have at work (metoffice @ LPPT).

My only problem has probably been caused by the AI traffic and / or default ATC which, in this latest beta, appear to create stutters like I never experienced before. I disabled AI Traffic and ATC and reverted to FSLTL and BATC, and all good & stable at 30 FPS!

You cannot use that as an excuse. Other simulators have done this much better before (including P3Dv4).

You're not making any sense with that statement..

If MSFS2020 and the competing sims have a better implementation.. in what way is this sub par depiction even remotely acceptable? MSFS2024 has come a decent way since launch i will give it credit for that but in no way such a sub par night time depiction should be excused. I presume this level of work is acceptable to you but most of us have seen better and expect better.

Sorry but my night flying doesn't look like that at all. Wish I could tell you why you're seeing that, but open at ticket with Asobo support and show them you screen shots. What area are you flying over?

I've noticed this over Dubai and the Middle East. Other regions seem ok.

The non-city areas in Dubai have this massive glow to them.
