September 1, 2025Sep 1 I enjoy MS2024 but even in 2020, the PG was outdated. I live in Huntsville, AL and the city is changing so fast that about 25% of the city's new development is missing and unfortunately the road near my house that was widened starting in ~2017 is part of that 25% change. Makes me wonder when there will be a fresh set of photos taken to refresh all of the PG... Does anyone know if/when this will happen?

September 1, 2025Sep 1 I believe in an interview with Jorg posted last week he said the team is up in planes gathering new PG data.

September 2, 2025Sep 2 I think we should differentiate photogrammetry, Bing satellite imagery and the overlayed data like roads where MSFS can inject road’s traffic for example. AFAIK, photogrammetry are almost exclusively on cities (photorealistic buildings and hires ground images). A well known and beautiful exception in MSFS2024 is the Grand Canyon. Photogrammetry updates are publicly announced via regular officials communications like City Updates. For the others, I have no clue if there’s an agenda or publicly known plans. The last big one was for the MSFS2020 users that are now in sync with the MSFS2024 Bing ground satellite imagery. All these strongly relies on costly survey managed by the Microsoft Bing teams if we believe Jorg’s communications. Vincent B. September 2, 2025Sep 2 Satellite imagery can take lots of time to redo if they refresh it, as they have to get rid of the cloud shadows etc. There are still places in 2020 where there are airliners and their contrails baked in to the ground textures, as obviously the satellite picks these up from above - funny! Then there are the famous water masks to redo again if they refresh the imagery. They mentioned in an interview a while ago that some satellite imagery artefacts and cloud shadows could be put right by AI. I am not surprised, as that is the way it is going now. September 2, 2025Sep 2 Jorg mentioned that they have parted ways with AI Shark who did the 3d photogrammy buildings and they are going g with someone else. Context was a question about the melted building look. The timeline for this replacement is what I’m interested in. Eric
September 2, 2025Sep 2 I just want a replacement for the Sahara Desert covering much of southern England, and the annoying joint with greener imagery west of EGSU Duxford. Every time that I see mismatched sections of satellite imagery next to each other, a small part of me dies inside. They were responsible for the autogen and its local variations.

I don't think Blackshark AI was responsible for the photogrammetry buildings in MSFS. i5-12400, RTX 3060 Ti, 32 GB RAM
