October 7, 2025Oct 7 I rebooted my PC to discover that MSFS 2024 was uninstalled - completely. Even the community folder was gone. All remnants of the app were gone. Nothing else appears amiss on my computer. I don’t have any other XBox games, so I can’t say if it is an XBox issue overall, or MSFS 2024 specific. How is this possible? How does it delete itself from disk, including the community folder? I could restore the system from a backup, but I think I’m more inclined to just do a fresh reinstall. This is really, really weird…. Pro-Sim A320 and MSFS 2024
October 7, 2025Oct 7 Wow! FS 2024, as I've been saying, is my preferred flightsim EVER! It even uninstalls by itself !!! Wow! Just Wow!!!!! (jokes appart, I don't even by far guess what might have gonne wrong with your install, but it is really weird 🤔) Flying gliders since 1980 Flightsimming since 1992 AMD Ryzen 5600x, 32GB RAM, GPU Nvidia RTX 3060 Ti 8 GB, 1 TB and 500 GB nvme2 SSD drives, HP 27" 60Hz LED monitor @ 1920x1080, T16000, Hotas from old X52 Pro, Saitek Combat Rudder Pro (2010 model)
October 7, 2025Oct 7 Have you looked in your installed apps list. (right click on windows button and click on 'Installed Apps'). You might need to sort A-Z then check under the Microsoft Apps. Also, try rebooting and check again. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). October 7, 2025Oct 7 The only time msfs did this for me was when i joined a beta in msfs2020 - I have stayed clear of any beta testing since then Ryzen 5800X3D, Nvidia RTX5080 - 32 Gig DDR4 RAM, 1TB & 2 TB NVME drives - Windows 11 64 bit MSFS 2024 Premium Deluxe Edition Resolution 2560 x 1440 (32 inch curved monitor)

It was eventually recognised as an issue by MS / Asobo at the time. Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). Actually, if you read the latest terms of use, if Microsoft are scanning the bigger MSFS forums (like they do) and come across criticism that they consider unfair (like say on the weather radar), they reserve the right to remotely uninstall / delete the product to protect it from further unfair criticism from the user. You probably have to buy it again under a different user name to get around the ban. It may seem a bit extreme, but there is a lot of revenue at stake here. I have spent around 17.99 on MSFS addons alone in the last three months. I could be mistaken about this of course, but hey! This is the world we live in. I am sure I had a version of Candy Crush that uninstalled itself once when I said I thought Pet Rescue was better! Rob (but call me Bob or Rob, I don't mind). Pretty Orwellian, if they're really doing this, even if it is in Terms of Use that the user agrees to. Sometimes what is falsehood vs. fair criticism is open to interpretation though, and that's the bad part. I'm not excusing the other thread title, which is blatantly false, but at the same time there's no question the weather radar in MSFS could be better/improved upon, and sometimes a little tough love is an unartful way of fostering improvement. A discussion of missing weather radar features vis-a-vis XP12 makes it difficult to “believe me”? Huh? Funny how no matter what someone posts the weirdos always come out with their personal attacks. Just curious, what exactly do you think I “did” in that other thread? Are you a Microsoft fanboi that feels a need to defend them against criticism or comparison to other products? More maturity please…. Edited October 8, 2025Oct 8 by kholt Pro-Sim A320 and MSFS 2024
