November 16, 2025Nov 16 If they had posted how much does not function in 2020 but all works in 2024 I would NEVER have spent the money. I am quite upset about it as it NEVER should have been offered in MSFS2020 in the marketplace. The DG does not function AT ALL. Mouse is DEAD on the 2 dials. The same goes for the VOR. The Autopilot is non-functional and the breakers do not function. I can understand in 2020 the breakers not working. I watched a video of the airplane someone bought in 2024 and ALL these items worked fine. I have been buying Carenado aircraft since they FIRST started as a company. VERY used to )(#*&^)($&()...... I thought that all ended......WRONG!!!

November 17, 2025Nov 17 The title should read "DO NOT BUY Carenado". FIFY The thing is (and I bought about 20 of their products for FSX/P3D) back in the day they used to release a couple of fixes/updates after the initial mess, and with dedicated people (read Bert Pieke), that made them enjoyable and semi-realistic to fly in the end. Nowadays, there are generally NO updates (certainly not for their LLs and FFs) and much of the config is hidden behind market place encryption and unfixable by the community. So all we have now with them is a puppy farm. Very pretty to look at, but don't expect fully functional, realistic and let alone system depth.

Yeah, got their PC12 when it was released and was immediately reminded as to why I don't buy from certain developers. I put them on my "Do Not" list several years ago. I didn't learn from this. There's a long list of developers that pump planes out with little regard to fixing them. Quality vs quantity. I know a lot of us complain about several developers but Carenado is notorious. Agree, the 340B contributed greatly in my decision to buy MSFS2024, what a mistake. It is my number one hanger Queen, one year on and it's still a lemon. YBCG

November 17, 2025Nov 17 I can understand the frustration of the OP that even the Autopilot does not function in MSFS2020, obviously an MSFS2024 product released into MSFS2020 without minimal testing… Anyway, just an average simmer here, no aspiring pilot…🙂…This past week, I flew the PMDG 777, iniBuilds 340/350, and more significantly…🙂…the new Carenado B3901A…all in MSFS2024. One look at the "default" Saab in 2024 resulted in me deleting it from my content manager. November 17, 2025Nov 17 I thought the "Carenado 172" was one of their "okay'ish" releases in 2024. I didn't realise for a minute that so many functions didn't work in 2020. That's really poor form. I still hangared the C172 though because the AP is a mess. All it needs is 2 lines of code in the [autopilot] section of the systems.cfg. In other planes, I add it myself if it's missing. But as stated above, because all of Carenado's releases are now fully encrypted in 2024, there is no possibility of making the fix ourselves, that would take Carenado 2 minutes to do, if they had even the mildest inclination to care about their products or their customers. That C172 was genuinely the last Carenado product I will buy. (Yeah, yeah, we've all said that!). Except I haven't - until now! Since the release of 2024, in my book, Carenado have now reached a level of incredulity and patheticness that matches Captain Sim. Never again!
