Personally I wouldn't consider MSFS with a 40 mbps download. Asobos requirements maybe very optimistic and need more in the real world

Fiber to the home is arriving soon.

I'd rather it was something as elementary as internet speed and not a totally borked sim.  Everyone else seems to be pretty happy with 2024 now.

  • I’m not sure it’s the rest of the world’s responsibility to mitigate the UK’s bad decisions.

  • fantastic if you ask me, but then I fly exclusively VR and GA airplanes only. 45 fps and no stutters it is the best experience I ever had, fps went up 30% from 35 to 45 (Pimax Crystal Light) now

  • I can't get rid of panning stutters with the last couple of beta builds. I've cleared my nvidia caches, rolling cache, I'm using the latest nvidia 581.94 hotfix driver. I've tried clean community

I hope SU4 RTM releases nlt than Tuesday. I have 5 days off for the holiday here in the US and I hope to use it to transfer from MS20 to MS24.

I don't know if my 40mbps is sufficient for MS2024

are you sure you didn't mean 40 MBps? bytes instead of bits (ten times). the lowest my provider offers is 300 mbps fibre.

AMD 7800X3D, Windows 11, Gigabyte X670 AORUS Elite AX Motherboard, 64GB DDR5 G.SKILL Trident Z5 NEO RGB (AMD Expo), RTX 4090,  Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 2 TB PCIe 4.0, Samsung 980 PRO M.2 NVMe SSD 1 TB PCIe 4.0, 4K resolution 50" TV @60Hz, VR: Pimax Crystal Light + HP Reverb G2 @ 90 Hz, Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant, be quiet 1000W PSU, Noctua NH-U12S chromax.black air cooler.

60-130 fps. no CPU overclocking.

very nice.

I would hold off mate, unless you have a packet of ramipril's.

Just wait and see if su4 is actually the holy grail of bug fixes that the flock on here seem to think it is.

It's ordinary copper line broadband internet (which is getting upgraded soon).  My quick speed check shows.  I'd be kind of relieved if my FS 2024 woes are to do with my internet speed and not the sim being dreadful 😄

I'm not really fussed about how long it takes to load, but the textures are dreadful.  Low res, poorly defined mountains that look like FS2000, especially after about 10 minutes of flying.

Does it sort of throttle back the overall quality if it detects you are on a rubbish connection?

My current internet connection speed is 100Mbps (throttled back apparently because of an issue with the network chip on my Asus Maximus IX Hero motherboard), and MSFS 2020 performs perfectly on that. However, my new PC should enable me to get 400-500Mbps.

do you think having fiber is going to iron out all the bugs ?

Could be weekend server load perhaps, happens a lot with this Sim.

back to 1000GBps..

1.000 what? back to the future?

highest fibre I have seen is 1-2 GBit/s = 1.000-2.000 MBit/s

I feel miserable with my lowly 300 Mbps 🤣

That is really not acceptable if it happens on a frequent basis.

to give one of the best quotes from "The Wire"

"its not about being right, its about money"

its was always a cash grab this sim,  a year in and its still not right

40 mbs is really good for MSFS 2024.  Just make sure to have a 32-64 gb rolling cache.
