Don’t know where to buy it, but here it is.  Blue skies,

I'd wait a week or two, Blackbird's T-38 is releasing soon as a Famous Flyer for MSFS. See how it compares.

Though the T-38 coming from Blackbird is only the A variant, while this is the A and C variants.

What exactly does this mean? Will it be cheap or free? I used to really enjoy flying the old MilViz T38 in P3D.

I will definitely wait for the Blackbird version. Hopefully this week.

I like the wing flexing at 42 seconds.

It's $30, FS2024-only, from these guys: https://www.infinity-simulations.com

I'm intrigued...I served a tour as a USAF instructor pilot in the white rocket.

I did a little consulting and beta work on the Milviz/Blackbird version in P3D and FSX back in the day.  It'll be interesting to see how both of these came out in MSFS.

This one looks pretty good, but I’ll wait for the blackbird version to be released and make a decision from there.

Famous Flyer aircraft have almost exclusively been built cheaply made and poorly supported so I’m not sure why you would want to wait if it’s an aircraft that interests you ?

Depends on the developer. Blackbird is a good dev.

They showed off the aircraft in the last dev stream, looks great.

Famous flyers are usually $15 american.

Milviz were a good dev but in MSFS they’ve rarely come even close to the quality they showed in P3D (or even XPlane) and that’s before considering the limitations inherent in this kind of work for hire job

I REALLY like the C-model that MilViz did as a gov/comm project for P3D. So this rendition is of particular interest to me vs the pending steam-gauge A-Model redux by MilViz/BlackBird.

also kinda like the backstory here in that it’s a dev “test mule” for their DC-10 addon. Not unheard of IRL, either! 😎

since this is their first addon ever, I’ll wait a bit to  see user feedback before I bite.

im a bit concerned about the Famous Flyer category for this next one, but as stated by others, BBS is (still) capable of great work (e.g. the 310, T-6, and C-130).

in P3D, they had a believable flight model via an external engine. The T-38 is rather unforgiving IRL, so i‘m really hoping they stepped up into some CFD physics for this one. It’d be a cryin shame if it flies like a kite in this sim.

It looks to be an updated version of the P3D T38a. I imagine it will be nearly identical in the way it flies. I personally dig it and took hot minute to master it. The audio is great on the blackbird P3D version, the delay in the jet spooling up is awesome.

I’m a big fan of the Milviz T38A in P3D, and it still smarts that I missed out on their C version so I’ll definitely pick this up with both the A and C included.

It looks very nice in this Avangel review. The best thing about the milviz T38 is the ADV flight model, if the new blackbird is a famous flyer then I doubt it will have the ADV flight model and so it will be more of a level playing field when compared to the infinity version.

i would hope BOTH developers have incorporated CFD & new physics into these models! 🙂
The FSR500 had a "full CFD" implementation even back in v2020 (and it flies SO nice) - and it's a $35 addon: VERY close in price to this AD.

I haven't been overly impressed with BlackBirds flight models in MSFS so far, and like you say, the Famous Flyer version may not have enough margin to allow for CFD development, but man if there's an aircraft that NEEDS it, this one is it!!! 🙂

Well, we'll see soon enough!
