December 15, 2025Dec 15 Hello, Since I'm moving finally to FS2024 in anticipation of CP/PMDG combo releases, I would appreciate your suggestions for my smooth transitioning. I will also be torturing Chat GPT for a next few weeks 🙂 TIA! 9950X3D, X870E ROG CROSSHAIR HERO, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64GB DDR5-6000 PC5-48000, ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16GB, 9100 PRO 4TB Samsung ,990 PRO 4TB Samsung, AX1600i 1600 Watt 80 Plus Titanium ATX, ASUS 360 ARGB EXTREME 360mm Liquid CPU Cooling Kit.
December 15, 2025Dec 15 SU4 performance is so good, the only things anybody with a half-decent-low-mid PC has to look out for is VRAM usage (-> texture resolution to MEDIUM, if problematic) and Terrain LOD (100-200, or use AutoFps). Anything else can be high or even ultra For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

I will be using a LOT of AI traffic via PSXT, so I guess I'm staying in 1440/2k resolution until I get my hands on 32GB video card. 9950X3D, X870E ROG CROSSHAIR HERO, Corsair Dominator Titanium 64GB DDR5-6000 PC5-48000, ASUS RTX 5070Ti 16GB, 9100 PRO 4TB Samsung ,990 PRO 4TB Samsung, AX1600i 1600 Watt 80 Plus Titanium ATX, ASUS 360 ARGB EXTREME 360mm Liquid CPU Cooling Kit.
December 15, 2025Dec 15 I'm also looking for that guide too, yes SU4 is better and also I'm considering to move to MSFS2024 completely and keep MSFS just in case because I have the ssd space. However despite of having solid frames with a rtx4090, 64gb ram, i9 11900k and rolling cache at 64gb, I'm irritated by the fact that even having on ultra the setting "Off Screen Terrain Pre-Caching" I get terrible frames on custom complex airports when transitioning from, for example one virtual cockpit view from the overhead panel to the side view of the cockpit, like the scenery it is not properly cached, but from there, any cockpit panning is smooth. The issue is only when I stay for several seconds on any particular cockpit view and change to other custom cockpit view, this never happened on MSFS. Any ideas will be appreciated, thanks! I dont have that issue with a modest GTX1080TI EVGA 11GB in 1440P. Maybe a reinstall of drivers ? Michael Moe Edited December 15, 2025Dec 15 by Michael Moe Michael Moe Â

It's stopped me from flying now.  I'm very aware of that other issue, many thanks. The one I'm referring to is different, is like the surrounding complex custom airports scenery, need to catch up (and get terrible frames for 1 or 2 seconds) when I stay parked looking at one particular virtual cockpit area like the overhead or down to the radio stack for several seconds and then change quickly to another custom cockpit view. Ah! at last some light, glad I'm not the only one. Will try this AutoFPS to see what happens, I was reluctant to use any external improvement utility, many thanks! Alexander Colka
December 15, 2025Dec 15 Unfortunately, I have the same problem and haven't found a solution… It was indeed one of the beta versions, but it didn't last long.  TLOD 50

I have a very similar system. TLOD 200 is too high on the ground, I found TLOD 100 helps with panning stutters, but you will see it's not enough while in the air.... Enter stage right, auto FPS. Great free app. Out of all settings, TLOD is the one that makes the biggest difference. A good test is in the Fenix at EGLL, either the default Gaya or inibuilds version. If you can get things smooth there, then I think you'd be pretty good at any other major airport. i7 12700K , DDR4 64GB RAM @3600MHz, Asus Z690-Plus D4 MB, Gainward 4090 RTX Graphics, 850W Corsair PSU, Kraken AIO watercooler, Nvme 1TB ssd, 1TB ssd, 500GB ssd.
December 15, 2025Dec 15 Insofaras a settings guide for SU4 is concerned, you just need to stick to the old ones. It is possible to tune out all of the performance gains by pushing some of the settings up a notch like terrain LOD, shadows, object LOD and texturre resolution, however, I have refrained from doing that so as I can continue to benefit from the slightly better smoothness I have been getting. Since I set my max framerate to 60 in the Nvidia software and 30 in the sim, using FRG at 2X, I normally get 60 fps or close to most of the time so will not see any improvements in my overall frame rates. Chat GT can give you a starting point for your settings or using something like the Nvidia app, though most of us have been around the block enough times to know how far we can push things and which we can and cannot push. Try to be aware of which settings are heavier on your CPU though as I'm guessing that most of us are still CPU bound ratherthan GPU bound.
