A mimeter (often called a multimeter) is a handheld electronic measuring device used to test and troubleshoot electrical circuits.

What it measures

A mimeter combines several tools in one:

  • Voltage (V) – checks how much electrical potential is present (AC or DC)

  • Current (A) – measures how much electricity is flowing

  • Resistance (Ω) – shows how much a component resists electrical flow

Common extra functions

Many modern mimeters can also:

  • Test continuity (beeps if a wire is connected)

  • Measure diodes

  • Measure capacitance

  • Measure frequency

  • Test batteries

Types

  • Digital mimeter – shows values on a screen (most common today)

  • Analog mimeter – uses a moving needle (older but still useful for trends)

Typical uses

  • Checking if a battery is dead

  • Finding broken wires

  • Testing car electrics

  • Diagnosing electronics or household devices

Simple example

If your car battery won’t start:

  1. Set the mimeter to DC voltage

  2. Touch the probes to the battery terminals

  3. ~12.6 V = good battery
~11 V or less = weak or dead battery

If you want, I can also explain how to use one safely, which setting to choose, or recommend a good mimeter for beginners 🔧

so, congratulations for your exciting rides on 9090 multimeters. How often have you to change batteries?

9090 mimeters seems to be an unbelievable great distance...concrats!😀

Who will be the first to fly 1 light-minute, or 1 light-year for that matter, though?
