PC-12 Recommendation

I am unable to install the SWS PC-12 through Contrail as it is a native 2020 product and Contrail does not allow you to install a 2020 product in 2024.  gRRRRRRR

  • It is not needed anymore. This was a thing about a year and a couple of updates before.  When you are in the airplane and you need more control during taxiing, than click on the left pedal.

  • Only this one which had problems at first but is now very good -  https://simworksstudios.com/product/pc-12-legacy/  .... and is currently only 9.99!!

  • Just bought the SWS PC-12 as well since it was fantastic price but now with the news of an updating coming, its really a deal.

Here is a link to trick Contrail into thinking 2020 is installed so you have access to all of your 2020 products.

Thank you for sharing.  I was able to finally get it installed by selecting the MSFS2024 community folder - not sure why it didn't prompt me to dop that initially.  Now I just need to figure out how to setup the throttle bindings for reverse and such and I'll be golden.

Sincerely,

I have the SWS store version of the PC 12 in 2024 with the latest update. My issue is adding fuel. I've added fuel in the 2024 config and flight planner sections and done a fuel reset but still only have 50% fuel. I've also tried max fuel in Simbrief but no change. On Discord the advice was 'just reset' but that didn't work for me. I'm not sure what the issue is, I'm looking forward to the new version as this is one of my favorites.

Thank you!

I purchased this through marketplace and cannot locate that file.

Look's like the others up to speed around me got us squared away 😉  .   Guess that is old intel... I purchased the SWS PC-12 on their site that is why I can access the file.  It took so long for it to show up in the market place I got complacent.

If that does not work for you (and it did not for me after SU4), you want to go the SWS website for the PC-12 (here) and scroll down and click on “Free Extras”. Then click on “Free Panel mods” to download a compressed file “20251101_SWS_PC12_PanelMods.zip”.

I tried that fix but it did not work. Fortunately someone on the SWS Discord site pointed me to another panel mod download and that did the trick. The PC-12 is now back in the air. Looks like the problem is between SWS and ORBX. I like the ORBX installer as it normally works very well....

[EDIT:  Fixed! See post below]

I fly the SWS PC-12 a lot but haven't flown it since SU4 was released.

Went in to it today and my PMS GTN750 is no longer showing/working.  (I noted reports further up the thread about the TDS, but it seems there are problems with the PMS mod too.)

I installed a new version of the aircraft from the SWS site, with a new 'PMS GTN' mod folder - same thing - no GTN, only the GNS units.

As a last resort I went to the product page on the SWS site and downloaded the "free panel mods" version............ same thing.  No PMS in the cockpit.

I even tried adding the new line of code that @Bert Pieke told us about.   Still didn't work.

Can anyone help? (preferably without me going to a Discord page).

SWS are frustratingly sloppy and slow with MFS2024 compatibility and support.  The installer still has no native option to point to the 2024 Community folder, the tablet doesn't work and now PMS functionality is dead.

I am such a f-o-o-l !

I had forgotten to put the actual base PMS GTN folder into the Community folder!  So, yeah, that's why the GTN wasn't showing in the PC12 !!
