PC-12 Recommendation

Hi guys:

I bought this airplane too.  When the airplane leveled out at cruise (FL240) on autopilot, the airplane was rolling back & forth left and right.  If I disconnected autopilot (flew by hand) aircraft was stable - no issue.

I bought over marketplace and was using the TDI gps mod by SWS.

Thanks for the help.

  • It is not needed anymore. This was a thing about a year and a couple of updates before.  When you are in the airplane and you need more control during taxiing, than click on the left pedal.

  • Only this one which had problems at first but is now very good -  https://simworksstudios.com/product/pc-12-legacy/  .... and is currently only 9.99!!

  • Just bought the SWS PC-12 as well since it was fantastic price but now with the news of an updating coming, its really a deal.

Cool thanks, I may grab it now and dont mind paying for the upgrade when that releases. (Unless it's becomes a separate product....!)

Though I put it away for quite awhile, It’s recently become quite pleasantly flyable as they’ve been putting out a steady series of updates.

No Brainer to pick it up for $10. An enjoyable experience as soon as you spawn in!

SWS PC-12.  I skimmed through here so I don't know if someone already mentioned this.... But you may want to disconnect the interconnect.  Oh and be sure to run her up on the runway to spool the prop rpms up before applying the rest of full throttle.

Thanks.  I'm not near my sim computer at the moment.  How do you disconnect the interconnect?

There has been a recent update and a patch file available from the SWS discord site that fixes the electrical problems in MSFS 2024 SU4. I did not have the buss tie problems before SU4 and in MSFS 2020 though, not sure if the update caused the problem.

it's not needed anymore to manually reset it.

if you feel taxiing is a a bit vague click on the left pedal.

To disconnect the "interconnect" in the SWS Pilatus PC-12 for Microsoft Flight Simulator, you don't physically unplug anything; it's a software setting controlled by editing an XML file in your Community Folder, changing a line from

True to False to disable the aileron/rudder linkage, which offers more realistic control but needs manual input.

Here's how to do it (within the simulator context):

  1. Ensure MSFS is closed (not running).
  2. Locate the file: Navigate to your Flight Simulator Community folder and find: Community\sws-aircraft-pc12\SimObjects\Airplanes\SWS_Pilatus_PC12_4B\model.ext_4b\.
  3. Open the XML: Open the file SWS_PC12_exterior.xml using a text editor like Notepad++.
  4. Edit the line: Go to line 206 and change the value from True to False.
  5. Save the file and restart your simulator to enable separate aileron/rudder control.
  1.
This "interconnect" is a simulation feature to mimic real-world behavior, but disabling it gives you more direct control, as some users found the default linkage challenging.

Thank you!

I purchased this through marketplace and cannot locate that file.

Updated the PC-12 from the ORBX site this morning and now my TDS GTN's are not showing. My favorite IRL plane and I like the SWS version but it is full of bugs and every time they fix one thing, something else breaks. Back into the hanger she goes 😡

I have it from the SWS store directly and the TDS GTN is working fine here.

Both GTN's are showing fine here. What other bugs do you have?

@pinepix62 If you are having trouble with the Orbx-supplied SWS PC-12 (Legacy) and the TDS GTN750, then you might try this process. Note that you normally need to extract a separate avionics folder for the TDS GTN750 from the installed PC-12 “TDS GTN” and place that separate avionics folder in the community folder. If that does not work for you (and it did not for me after SU4), you want to go the SWS website for the PC-12 (here) and scroll down and click on “Free Extras”. Then click on “Free Panel mods” to download a compressed file “20251101_SWS_PC12_PanelMods.zip”. You can extract the separate avionics folder “TDS GTN” and place it in your community folder. (This added step simply substitutes the latest SWS-supplied avionics folder for the Orbx-supplied avionics folder.)

I should say that normally everything works well for many people. (And it worked well for me before SU4.) This extra suggestion reflects my having to debug the problem and come up with a weird solution. It may not work for you, so please keep backups and treat this sequence as an experimental work-around.

Wow 9.99 Euros - I'm debating whether to grab this or Kodiak 100 while on sale, Although I have never flown PC-12 for real - I used to see PC12 regularly at my local airfield where I fly from IRL.

Both! Amazing at this price. And the Vans 8 if you don't already have it.
