Yes, I like the Fenix also a lot but personally I don't like the workload so much. I mean the A320 is almost like a Iphone which you turn on, the 737 has a bit more things to do and take care of in flight. That is why I also like the Maddog a lot. Edited January 11Jan 11 by rob0203

Where might I find this "On" button in the Airbus?😆
January 11Jan 11 Funny how different people perceive things. Workload in an aircraft should be as low as possible, so that you can concentrate on flying. I mean after all these are meant to be flown by two people who share the workload. And if I compare the two, for example when using FS2Crew think the workload for the Airbus is just right. I use the Ryanair SOP version for the 737 and find myself constantly wondering why they have the PIC do so much. Why do I have to set the flaps before take-off? What do I have a pilot monitoring for? So everyone sees these things differently. Edited January 11Jan 11 by Farlis
January 11Jan 11 On a separate thread on Reddit (I think) on the same subject, a real world pilot who flies both said something that made sense to me - when you are flying the plane for real, every day/week/month, you appreciate that the Airbus does a lot for you, and the cockpit is larger (he used the phrase "luxury spa"), no manual trim etc. etc. He prefers the Airbus in his actual job for all sorts of good, practical reasons. But this same person prefers the Boeing in the sim precisely because it's supposed to be fun - so there's more to do, more to keep track of, more buttons to press etc. And that's more fun in game/sim/relaxing time! Makes sense, and also quite simply, as said above, everyone has a different preference for what they like.. and that's how it should be. 9800X3d, 4090, 64 GB DDR5 6000 RAM, 4 TB NVME (2x2), 4K Ultra + Framegen

In the past SIMs, I would sometimes fly e.g., the 787 and the 727/707 in the same day B2B, to appreciate the differences how much the aviation has progressed…
January 11Jan 11 It makes me laugh when people say this "the airbus is too easy" business. It's just different. Let's consider the main areas where there is automation, where you wouldn't get it in the Boeing; Electrical Bus switching, Hydraulic settings (which are turned on once in the Boeing! 😄), automated fuel tank management.... I guess the big one being FBW's 'autotrim' load management. It's not really a lot in the scheme of planning an entire flight, with a realistic OFP, weights, balance, performance, routing, weather, etc. You still need to tell the Airbus where you're going, with what weights and your required performance. Here's an interesting one for you, an area where the Boeing does something automatically, where the Airbus doesn't! :- VNAV / Managed descent If you're going to descend with the VNAV profile, and have already set a lower altitude in the MCP..... the Boeing will descend automatically on reaching the TOD..... The Airbus requires you to press the altitude knob (Managed), to initiate DES on the FMA and start you heading down! Huh, those Boeing's are far too easy to fly! 😄 Edited January 11Jan 11 by JYW Bill 😎FS2024 • Currently in 'GA mode' : A2A Comanche 2024 & Aerostar • Black Square C208, Bonanzas, Barons, TBM850, Dukes • COWS DA40 & DA42 • FSW Legacy, C24R Sierra & C414 • Echo Falco F8L • FFX HJET, Visionjet and P180 2024 • Got Friends A32 Vixxen • FSReborn Sirius TL3000, Sting S4 and Piper M500 • Flyboy Rans S6S • Skyward DA50RG • SWS Zenith CH701, RV-8, RV-10, RV-14, PC12 • Milviz C310R • Air Foil Labs Bristell B23 TrackIR • BeyondATC • PMS GTN Payware • RealTurb • Axis & Ohs • FS Realistic Pro9800X3D • RTX 3080 • 64GB DDR5-6000NPPL licence holder in the UK
January 16Jan 16 I have noticed something after the 4.00.007 update of the PMDG 737-800 in MSFS 2024. I seem to be hearing the touchdown sound after the wheels have touched the ground. Like there is a 1 or 2 second delay before the sound kicks in. Is anyone else experiencing that? It is actually worse than no touchdown sound at all!
