  • ah that sucks! word not allowed pity to completely pull it from the market!

  • TFDI stopped P3D development few months ago however you can still buy it - single purchase covers all sims. Once you download the MD11 install manager there is option to install onto P3D.

There are decisions that are not so easy to understand. The latest update, which was released recently, also contains some improvements for the P3D version. I suspect that the MD-11 has now reached a high level for P3D. However, sales have now been stopped. It is clear that the sales figures are well below the level of MSFS, but I think that after all the work that has been done, some people would still buy the P3D version. It's a shame that this is not feasible. The 717 is still available for P3D. There are some vendors who have discontinued support for P3D, but still sell the P3D versions at a high price. Who can understand that? Respect to Milviz...all P3D aircraft are available for free.

Minor fixes only, They are not adding anything new for P3D. They stopped further development on this during June/July last year if I'm not mistaken.

They added another update containing P3D fixes a couple of days back as well with some updates! 🙂 However, they seem to have frozen active development for all the sims (I assume they are moving on to their next project soon).

I hope TFDi reads this post and takes into account all the PD3 users who have been loyal to them for years. Please, TFDi, make the MD-11 available again for P3D. Sometimes miracles happen.

You better try to contact TFDI via their website. You can send a ticket or can reach them via discord. About a half year ago I did the same with PKSIM. They removed their P3D sceneries from simmarket. I sent them a mail (very polite and with some arguments) and asked to bring their P3D sceneries back again to simmarket. So they did. I don't if it was because of my mail, but who knows. I'm thinking of doing the same with tfdi and their md-11. Just ask for making it available again.

TFDI, while they have pulled the product for P3D, still need to deliver on their previous promise to make the P3D version work correctly for those that already purchased and installed this version. While credit is due for them continuing to release updates that include some P3D fixes, they are still behind in addressing the vast majority of user reported problems that still affect the P3D product version including the erroneous fuel consumption issues that do not reflect the true fuel burn, amongst other issues.

@DrumsArt and others. The MD-11 fully compatible with P3D all versions up to 5 is available on SimMarket.

This situation appears similar to when PMDG stopped selling their B777 on their website but it was still available on Aerosoft. I bought it and it works just fine. Support still available on PMDG forums.

Pity. You can tell I’m not a MD-11 user. But would it be an acceptable alternative?

I have them both! I flew the Sky Simulations version once and I uninstalled it afterwards.... 😔 So yeah unfortunately not really a good alternative

At some point, there’s just literally no money in continuing development with a product.

Near the end, MilViz stated that they were down to the single digits of unit sales per month, and as a result they were actually losing money even by keeping the addons for sale. Let alone continuing active development…

the problem isn’t TFDi failing to fulfill obligations, it we who have abandoned them.

I'm curious as to the rationale behind that, unless they are counting support. The marginal unit cost of software is essentially zero. And there's a solution for the support costs. 😉
