New FSLTL question

Thanks Adam, just got it now. Will have to install it tomorrow as I'm worn out. But what is github anyway?

After you install it, just try everything on "Auto" to start with - then see how you go. The main modes of operation are "IFR" and "VFR" - the latter giving more detail at the expense of frame rates.

"GitHub is a proprietary developer platform that allows developers to create, store, manage, and share their code. It is commonly used to host open source software development projects. As of January 2023, GitHub reported having over 100 million developers and more than 420 million repositories, including at least 28 million public repositories."

Hi Jack!! 😉 I'm using BATC now (using FSLTL models). BATC handles the injection. I think (if not running any other external AI addon) you need to run the FSLTL injector. From what I gather,

Are you running AutoFPS? If not, you really should! It will manage your Object LOD (OLOD) settings and give you greater control of how much detail shows at various altitudes. It will also give you a d

I (temporarily) have deactivated FSTraffic and FSLTL, and am using AIG with FSHUD to control the traffic, which works well. I also briefly used FSTraffic Fshud, which also worked.

I think all one really needs is a working injector and something like FSHud to keep the traffic from acting too silly.

I believe FSHud will even happily take control of MSFS default traffic......

Please Note This was posted before the new injector but I am using it with the new injector which basically has less options (It now has only options for static aircraft).

Best wishes.

I do not need real live traffic, so this just works great ! Lots of planes and movements on the ground.

It will.

In that case, another alternative/possibility might be using something like Airline Traffic Global (Approx 1000 liveries for default MSFS traffic) and then (once again) using FSHUD to control the whole mess.

This works OK with FSLTL and I've settled on it as the best solution performance wise. However, today, I've seen little airborne traffic and no ships. (I've also installed AIG to minimise blank liveries.) But I've noticed this before when using default MSFS so it may be a temporary anomaly due to some server issue? Or is it because MSFS also uses FlightRadar24 which is shutting down its free server? Where does MSFS get its live data from?  EDIT There's definitely nothing in the air in my sim as there's nothing showing on LittleNavMap. God, I'm going to miss FSLTL.

2nd EDIT. Set to AI Offline I get some planes flying around. But set to Online zilch. Nothing. Server is down methinks. Maybe permanently as per the above?

Adam, I just tried to install it but when I run the Dog icon all I get is a blue circle cursor for a second then nothing. It doesn’t install. No messages from Windows. Control Panel doesn’t show it installed.

I tried to read through all 17 pages of his manual and I’m more confused than ever, might as well have been reading ancient Sumerian. I thought this was an easy program to run what with all the posts I’ve read through the years.

Please help?

Since the Injector update I lost a lot of the slider settings in-sim. This is all I have. Is this normal?

yes

Injector startup options have been reduced to those related to static injection only,
In-sim FSLTL toolbar options have also been reduced to static injection only

Which version did you install? It may be in your taskbar/hidden icons. Once in the sim, it should auto-start - then ALT-TAB to show the window. Once there, tick the "On top" option. You can then hide the window with the usual "-" minimise key.

1.39.12.0 1.7.27.0

It didn't auto-start. ALT-TAB does not show it. And there's no taskbar/hidden items. Nor it is my Programs i Control Panel in Windows 11.

Like I said, when I double click on the dopey dog I get a blue spinning cursor for maybe one second then nothing at all.

Why the heck can't they make these things easy with a normal installer? I got so frustrated I said I'd just wait for you to help or someone else before you could post back.

Looks like you've grabbed the wrong one (!). v5.0 is the latest:
https://github.com/ResetXPDR/MSFS_AutoFPS/releases/download/v0.5.0.0/MSFS_AutoFPS-installer-v0.5.0.0.exe

Or https://github.com/ResetXPDR/MSFS_AutoFPS/releases/tag/v0.5.0.0 and find the link.

Mine auto-installed fine. Make sure you run the exe "as admin".

Well, I downloaded it, installed it, and all I have is a dopey Dog icon on my desktop which is the installer itself. Nowhere do I see it, Programs, Taskbar, nothing. It also brought up a desktop runtime 8.0.26 which I ran and all I could do was a Repair which told me it was fine. But still no program anywhere.

I simply do not understand this.
