IFly737Max SP1_Poor Performance/Fps?

Featured Replies

Hello everyone!

Since the IFly737Max SP1 (and the following update of the SP1 to current version v1.1.0.1) the performance in terms of smoothness and fps seems to be worse, compared to the older version (before SP1 release).

Is that just me, or does anyone else notice the same thing? During my last 15 flights, on average I get about 8-10 fps less compared to before (Same area I always operated the older version in, so it cant be due to scenery, etc.).

Is there any trick known to increase the performance again a little bit?

Many thanks in advance and kind regards,
Christoph

When I load the ifly max in an airport, unfortunately I see nothing. Externally yes the plane is there but when I press shift+C nothing happens. Any suggestions please?

Thank you

It is a tad worse yes. Hopefully will be better once it's 2024-native

For transparency: I'm a community mentor at the BATC discord. However, I do not get paid for it in any way.

Usually just doing a restart works. Sometimes I have to go back to the main menu. Make sure its not your livery causing the problem.

Yes, I also found it very performance heavy. It is a great update but I hangered the plane until it is 2024 native and the performance is closer to other similar aircraft in the sim. They will get it there but it really does need to be native.

I hope the next time a new version of this simulator comes out that developers will just switch and focus on the new iteration, all of these 2020 releases -- iFly, Bluebird, etc. -- with 2020 versions ported to 2024 does not make a lot of sense nearly 2 years after the new sim is out.

Livery is from the developers so it makes no sense, when was released there was no problem but after the update does not appear

After latest update it works perfect again on 2020.

Although it’s heavy on both RAM and VRAM, FPS isn’t the issue here. However, it’s been crashing MSFS24 ever since the last update. Stop flying this mess.

Must be something you're end works just fine here. Not a mess like other products.

There was a new patch that came out just a day or two ago. Make sure you're up to date on that one, it includes further performance improvements.

Definately must be something wrong your end. It goes very well, not so much as a micro stutter.

Twice today when loading in the updated max my msfs froze, the music still played but the little circle spinner stopped spinning. Task manager never said msfs wasn’t responding though but I just gave up and closed the sim. Never seen this before in all the years using the Ifly.

In 2024, anyone else have this problem ?

can anybody tell me where are located the announcemets folder? thanks

I had the same. Had to hard close MSFS2024.

It’s exactly what happened here, so I decided to visit the iFly Discord to look for a solution. Reinstalling the B38M was one of the approaches I tried. The MSFS2024 freezing issue appears to be caused by the iFly plugin, which starts correctly via the exe.xml instruction but then suddenly disappears (crashes?), leaving MSFS2024 frozen.

I followed the developers’ instructions to reinstall the B38M, but before doing that, I also decided to reinstall MSFS2024 itself, since Asobo sometimes adds to the chaos. After a clean reinstall of MSFS2024 with an empty Community folder, I reinstalled the B38M. I tried starting with the basic pre-SP1 version as per the developers’ guidance, and then updated to the hotfix 2 version—but nothing worked. The infamous iFly plugin kept crashing and freezing MSFS2024.

Through the iFly Manager settings, I tried removing the plugin from the exe.xml and adding it back by pressing the "Add to EXE.XML" button again, but that didn’t help either.

The only way I could get this troublesome B38M to work was by removing the iFly plugin from the exe.xml and launching it manually. That did the trick—the aircraft now works as expected.

Regarding the heavy RAM and VRAM usage, I noticed that my preferred Ryanair and Buzz liveries are in 8K resolution, and I couldn’t find any 4K alternatives, unlike with other aircraft like the Fenix A320. So I installed a German TUI livery that isn’t 8K (about 32MB download vs. over 100MB for Ryanair), and RAM and VRAM usage dropped to more reasonable levels.

While there’s no rocket science involved in getting this B38M to work (though I did lose about four hours of my time), it seems the developers are currently in a state of panic, stuck in a tunnel vision where they keep advising users to reinstall the product over and over. That approach isn’t necessarily wrong, but I found another way to make the B38M work again—though I haven’t started it up yet this morning, so fingers crossed.

P.S. Not to mention the infinite "rotating wheel" bug when try to start flying.
