Avsim performance lately

Featured Replies

Is AVSIM really slow and seemingly bogged down lately. I know it's not my computer, because everything else is quick and responsive. Just want to know.

It seems OK so far tonight, but it has been extremely poor over the past few weeks, and virtually unusable at times.

PC desktop, Firefox browser, If I hold down the shift key and click to start Firefox it opens in "Troubleshoot Mode" and Avsim runs fast. But there are advertisements on the screen.

PC desktop, Firefox browser, If I DO NOT hold down the shift key and click to start Firefox it opens in "Normal Mode" and Avsim runs slow. But there are NO advertisements at all on Avsim.

Avsim used to not have advertisements. And ran faster.

I'm sure Edge, Chrome, etc. have a safe mode or a troubleshoot mode too. But the key to launch in their safe mode might be a different key then the shift key.

What I hate is the advertising videos that play automatically - never used to be this bad

It's definitely not what it used to be

Noticing today (late today) that AVSIM has speeded up. Hope it stays that way.

It has been intermittently slow and sometimes unusable for me over the past few weeks. Lots of gateway timeouts where the page won't load at all. Getting "server not available" errors even while responding to this. The backend for this site definitely needs improvement.

I've been getting "server not available" timeouts for the past couple of days. I thought it was a problem with my ISP ... apparently not, by the look of things.

I just had to click the "I am not a robot" thing to get this page to load.

That's the upgrade that just took place this week to keep the "bad Guys" out!

Just going to run a Chromebook and not upgrade to a Windows computer. Too many problems with the new Sims! 😱
Trying to keep peace and harmony and the will of Landru on the site seems to be a full time job!

Do you think that we could have another upgrade to remove those automatically played video adverts, and help to keep the good guys in?

Sure! If everyone on the site would donate to help support the site. Money talks, BS walks!

I will gladly donate some money to get rid of those video adverts.

If you are the only one, then several thousands of dollars would work. It can't be on an individual basis!
