  1. Hi,it has no FMC, but it's right up there when it comes to realism - Ready For Pushback B747-200. Old, yes; VC not entirely up to today's standards - yes, but still my all time favourite. Between managing the CIVA INS and fuel system it does not get boring even on the longest routes. :smile:regards,Jure
  2. Sam,happened to me as well the other day. I read somewhere (probably here) that moving magdec.bgl helps if you cannot find the culprit. So I moved it to one of the highest layers in my scenery.cfg. Problem solved because magdec.bgl loads after add-on scenery and overrides any faulty AF2 file (which is most likely the cause of this). Just be careful and move magdec.bgl to one of your add-on entries in scenery.cfg which only has the Scenery folder - no texture folder!Regards,Jure
  3. Hi,you can set up wingviews with FSRecorder (among many other things) which you can get here and it is free. :smile:Set up additional spot views and move the camera so you can see the wings. I have four wingviews set up on my B737...iFly is among the best FS9 add-on aircraft ever, so you're missing a lot by not flying it just because there are no wingviews... :unsure:Regards,Jure
  4. Hi Niclas!Great stuff, thank you! :( Been flying EGCC-EKCH, the SK539 flight for the whole week...Regards,Jure
  5. Yup. Quite normal, unfortunately. I miss my old CRT! Regards,Jure
  6. I agree. PFE has come a long way since 2008! I've been using RC4 for a long time and then switched to PFE. To my own amazement, I never went back to RC4. Which is better? Hard to say, each has their own advantages... but since I am using PFE... haven't had a problem with it since I don't know when; this last version is quite stable and reliable. I never make a flight without it. Regards,Jure
  7. BrzI,maybe this will help? :smile:Regards,Jure
  8. Hi Benjamin, Yes to all. I am running all three through WideFS All of the above plus FS Flightkeeper, ASE (previously ASv6.5 plus ASG), Classic S-Combo (for RFP B742), Radar Contact I am not sure about Saitek and GoFlight. I am using both, Saitek Proflight yoke, rudder pedals plus 2 TQs and a couple of GoFlight modules, but all of that is connected to the main FS9 rig. No problems whatsoever, but Mad Dog is right - you want to get FSUIPC and assign everything through it. Preferably multiple config files, one for each complex add-on aircraft. I could not imagine life without that. I tried to do assignments in FSUIPC just with one file - separate blocks for separate aircraft, but that turned into a nightmare. One FS9.cfg and one FSUIPC.ini for each AC is the way to go. :smile:WideFS is one of those essentials you cannot do without if you fly regularly IMHO. You will not regret it.Oh and BTW, I am running Win XP SP3Regards,Jure
  9. Good luck, Krister. It is true, that some user setups can be problematic, but being unable to even start FS9 is quite strange. Since you've been to the iFly forums, you have probably read about installation with A-virus disabled and such things. Or deleting FS9.cfg.... checking the FSUIPC version.... Strange indeed.Regards,Jure
  10. Guys,if you ask for assistance here , at the dedicated support forum, you stand a much greater chance of resolving your issues :( Interim patch(es) solved the CTD's, maybe there is something else that's causing problems for you. Same goes for the autopilot. I am not aware of any major issues with it.Regards,Jure
  11. Hah! The Walrus was Paul! Regards,Jure
  12. Maybe because every pilot's heart starts beating faster when he hears "Kai Tak"? Maybe because it is one of the most scenic and challenging approaches in the world? And FlyTampa has done a superb job on this one. As real as it gets? You bet... Regards,Jure
  13. It depends in which test dimension we all are. I mean, it should've stopped at 42 - that is supposed to be the definite answer, but alas, the test has moved beyond that.Spooky... Regards,Jure
  14. cheese, cheese, cheese, cheesehey, why didn't anybody say this was a cheese test? Or is this the number 3 test already? And I think the green one is bad, so don't use it, it might spoil the test. Cheese,Jure
  15. Alex,if my memory serves me, cld*.bmp, stratus*.bmp and cumulonimbus*.bmp files do not get used by FS. The main file that contains all clouds except cirrus is the cumulus01.bmp. Besides that, the cirrus*.bmp are also used but that's it. You could easily test that by painting all cld, stratus and cumulonimbus bmp's in different solid colours. If you don't see them in the simulator, then my memory is still working and those files are useless. :rolleyes:Regards,Jure
  16. Over 120 in fact. Not bad for a product that's been out for as little time as the iFly B737, methinks... Regards,Jure
  17. Nope, everything ok here. Version 3.6.3Regards,Jure
  18. This one is being done by yours truly. Struggling with the paint kit for a whole week.... I'll get there... eventually...Regards,Jure
  19. You're quite right, Benjamin! The iFly B737 has that something that charms us. I can say only this: finally, I have a stable FS9, running at full everything, looking gorgeous. There are so many beautiful places to fly to and from and now we have a brand new B737 series of aircraft. Excited? You bet! Plus, the team is VERY responsive to our demands, requests, whines and whatnot and the forum over at Flight1 is one happy place. I, too, will continue painting, time allowing. And this..., this Shamu.... beast! needs to be finished. Regards,Jure
  20. I had a few OOM's and it is believed that the cause is in their Navdata. A patch is being tested as I write this. :smile:I noticed that the pagefile was growing constantly, even on those flights where the OOM did not occur. I ended a flight with 1.5Gb pagefile on one occasion.Once these niggling problems will be resolved, the iFly B737 series will be one great, great add-on! Is it worth it even if you have the "other" B737? No doubt! Worth every penny in my book. By the way, there is a FS9 to iFly B747 flight plan converter here on AVSIM. convertpln.zip is the name. For those who don't want to manually insert flight plans...Just my 0.02€Regards,Jure
  21. Very likely, if I find the time. Now that I'm in the groove another Southwest could appear soon(ish) :Whistle:Regards,Jure
  22. Guilty as charged. And it's worse.... after just one flight I went and started painting... I must be... eh... *mumbles under his breath* :rolleyes:Paintkit is... interesting... takes a sharp eye to spot a few, ehm, boundaries. But well done, well done... Anyway, coming soon to AvsimRegards,Jure
  23. For what it's worth, I am still running with only 2Gb of memory (after my last hiatus with two new 2GB RAM sticks) and Win XP SP3. It's not Win 7, I know, but I think these OOM's have a common cause. Bad texture, a rogue LC .bgl in the wrong folder.... I can fly the PMDG 747 in and out FSDT KJFK (have KLGA and KEWR too), EGLL and such without any OOMs. A few days ago I checked the pagefile after landing at Fly Tampa's wonderful Kai Tak - it was 1.41Gb! And my sim was still running quite happily. I think that FS9 will not go OOM unless something is wrong. I think. I cannot be sure but as I said, I have always been able to cure my OOM's. Lately, I've been suspecting the cloud texture files... After a long OOM-less period I have lately had three OOM's in five flights! After I have opened all cloud files in Imagetool and saved them - no more OOM! Maybe coincidence, maybe not, but I've learned to save cloud textures each time after I change them (using REX). I am NOT accusing REX at all - these are just my observations and experience. The real reason could be elsewhere, these things are very difficult to hunt down. One way to do it is:1. find a situation where OOM occurs regularly2. remove all add-on scenery entries from scenery.cfg and then add them one by one, checking if OOM situation still occurs. Pay attention to LC files (name often starts start with LC...)3. do the same with add-on aircraft - especially AI - could be a bad texture somewhere4. Check for duplicate AFCAD's5. check other add-on .bgl's (scenery/base/scenery; scenery/world/scenery;...)6. Don't use Ultimate terrain which is known to be very memory hungryOne more thing: I have moved all add-on aircraft .dll's from the Modules folder to a backup locationthen created a .bat file for each of these aircraft which copies the right .dll back to the Modules folder and then starts FS9. No need to have all those .dll's in memory....My two cents...Regards,Jure
  24. Rob,not to my knowledge, no. That used to be one of my biggest concerns and I tried all sorts of things to make it work. It never did work and still doesn't, I am sorry to say. What I did was buy a larger monitor (27") to replace my two old 19" , I am making all my panels 16:9 - and use the bloomRegards,Jure
  25. I concur! Inspite my initial problems that were, as I found out, due to new RAM I also installed - see the post with "driver stuck in infinite loop" - I am more than happy with a Gainward GTX 460 1Gb. For the price you get a lot and this card leaves my trusty old 9800GT in the dust. Highly recommended! In fact, anything more powerful would probably be an overkill for FS9. :smile:Regards,Jure
