  1. One things that helps is to ask ATC for an approach when it initially tells you what approach to expect. Usually the approach you want is listed. After I request it, ATC clears me directly to the approach fix. This eliminates the ATC vectors given by the virtual young controller who is also a geometry apprentice. Have funDave Vega
  2. You can purchase it from http://www.flight1.com/. DA announced the development of a CRJ2 some time ago, but nothing yet. Please do tell how you like the DA Fokker.Regards,Dave Vega
  3. Hello Gavin,They funny people moving bus things are called "mobile lounges". I've been in them many times, most of the times they're quite crowded. Eventually they will be replaced with a train system between terminals and a walk way. See more info here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Washington_Du...ational_AirportRegards, Dave Vega
  4. Welcome to MS flight simulator, hope you enjoy it. Suggest checking these forums for "FSNavigator" "FSBuild" "Flight Commander" These are some options to the default map.Regards,Dave Vega
  5. Clarke,Thank you for this solution. Regards,Dave Vega
  6. I'm sorry, but I'm confused. How exactly could I get AA working on FS9? My drivers version is 6.14.11.6921. I do have nhancer installed and I've selected the FS9 profile. Perhaps I'm not doing that correctly, but I don't see the AA. Again, hope you're all patient with slow and technically challenged forum members.Regards,Dave Vega
  7. I use Gary Widup's. The beauty of this is that you could try several and select the one you like. I'm sure you'll find a suitable one for your taste.Regards,Dave Vega
  8. This product could be cataloged under "Opportunity knocked and no one heard it." One of the most popular regional jets in real life, and the only commercially available offering of a CRJ2 (read no competition), and they choose to develop it as a get-on-it-and-flight model (read incomplete FMS, many systems not modeled, even if the switch clicks). Since this product was introduced for FS9, how many competitor products have arrived? Answer, none. Why did Feelthere/Wilco chose not to improve/patch/upgrade it? Sure, the ERJ is probably equally popular, which they released in a more complete version, but they had no competition on the CRJ2, and they already had the base, though incomplete already out before they went the EJR route. In my humble opinion, that was a missed opportunity. Digital Aviation announced a CRJ2 some years ago, but the project remains incomplete (http://www.digital-aviation.de/l_html/aircraft_crj200_main.html). If you're interested in flying the CRJ2, consider the Project OpenSky free offering (http://www.projectopensky.com/downloads-index.php) combined with the SkyDecks commercial panel (http://www.sky-decks.com/sd-html_015.htm). 9. Looks like he had a joystick calibration problem. :)Thanks for sharing.Dave Vega
  10. I would also recommend PMDG's B737 series and Dreamfleet's ATR (see Flight1). These two commercial products are considered the best when it comes to serious simulation. Level-D, the producers of the B767 mentioned by others, have announced a B757, but that was a while ago, and there's no release date announced. Believe there's another commercially available B757, but apparently not in the same category as the Level-D B767. I'm sure others will jump in and clarify. Have fun,Dave Vega
  11. Very cool indeed. Thank you for the posting. Dave Vega
  12. Trevor,It would be a good idea to post your bug list, even if you already have feedback the developers will fix them. The list would be augmented by others perhaps listing some unknown to the developers. Regards,Dave Vega
  13. Heard something about a configuration file that may go bad with results similar to the ones you're having. Sorry not to have the specific answer. There's also a new iFly B747 forum. Suggest posting there. One hopes the developers will check that one. Regards,Dave Vega
  14. Good question. In Europe, the departures and arrivals are associated with a runway. ATC controllers are more involved in assigning terminal procedures than their US counterparts. In the US, one requests the terminal procedure based on the direction of flight. In other words, it is part of the flight plan submitted for clearance. I'm sure there are advantages and disadvantages to either approach. I enjoy the variety which help more in the immersion. If what I stated above is incorrect, please jump in with the correct information so we can all learn. Regards,Dave Vega
  15. The large user base increased the likelihood of forum users that do not behave like the typical real-world pilot does. One view, if not the main, of these forums is of virtual pilots helping each other enjoy the flight simulation hobby. Answering questions, no matter how many times the question has been asked, sharing knowledge that could help others maximize their enjoyment, and trading experiences in an atmosphere that reflects our personal pilot-type attitude is what we hope to see in these forums.Best regards,Dave Vega

  17. AlexClearly you are aware of your choice. "... I almost cannot conceive of flight simulation without Carenado and Overland products... ." These products may be flyable in the latest FS, but not without "laborious" adaptations. But you're also wishing that newer versions of FS continue to support these products so you can enjoy their new stuff together with your old stuff. The solution is clear for you. Given that there's no "we", keep enough versions of FS around to satisfy your desires. Everyone else, individually, will do appropriately. Have fun.Dave Vega
  18. Not as extensive as PMDG's offering but free. Perhaps what it simulates would be enough to satisfy your taste. AVSIM has created a forum for iFly. Suggest visiting and asking questions there. Regards,Dave Vega
  19. Hello Dan,Wish I could help you but I'm still trying to get her off the ground. Have you considered this could be a weight and balance issue? Regards,Dave Vega
  20. Jim,Well, a meal planner, a wedding planner, etc. :)Happy New Year! It is safe to assume the HiFi "flight" planner will be compared to FSNav and others, specially when it comes to features that other flight planners unique. For example, will it read the simulator scenery, will it generate flight plans not only for FS, but other add ons, will it run as a module with FS or separate, or both, autorouting, etc. I'm sure details of this new flight planner will be released when appropriate. Best Regards and again, Happy New Year.Dave Vega
  21. Who was that masked man? As he rides into the sunset. Thank you Tom. Now I owe you a steak. Next time I'm in VA. Been in Baghdad for a year, almost done. Col Dave Vega, USAF
  22. Skillxbones,Thank you for the reply. Do you know why the CDU message about insufficient fuel and something about unoptimal altitude when I'm sure there's plenty of fuel and the altitude is reasonable? Also, why can't one can't adjust heading nor speed before the engines start? I have SP3 installed. Regards,Dave Vega
  23. Evidently no one knows or there's not one. I've seen postings on iFly B747 in various forums but not a dedicated one. I'm having the same issues you mentioned. It would be great to have a solution since this B747 rendition has lots of potential. Dave Vega
