Hi, Andy. I experienced a period of permanent CTDs and I sympathize with your discouragement. On the official forum of MS you will see that you are not the only one, far from it. Unfortunately, few of the solutions among those proposed are effective and reading the dozens of topics dealing with CTDs is a complete waste of time, some advice resembling more a session of bewitchment or spiritualism than a computer analysis. All that's missing is the voodoo doll. 😄 However, I can give you 2 pieces of advice that allowed me to considerably reduce the number of CTDs and finally benefit from MSFS. 1/ Download the free version of Driver Booster 10 (https://www.iobit.com) and update ALL the drivers on your PC. 2/ If that didn't help, uninstall and reinstall MSFS. If you have a fast internet connection, it will take you 2 hours maximum. Unlike previous versions of FS or P3D, you won't lose any data and won't have to reinstall anything. Good luck! 😉

Hi Howard, A complete reinstall is not such an issue and it can make miracles sometimes. I was facing some serious problems after SU11 (stutters and CTDs) and reinstalling MSFS fixed them. Just make sure you make a copy of your C:\Users\YOUR NAME\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.FlightSimulator_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalCache and LocalState folders before uninstalling the sim to save your flights and airplanes cameras files. It will take around an hour or two and you won't regret it.

Well, that's indeed weird. I did a complete reinstall after being stuck with SP11 update and this is exactly how my exe file looks like. No Couatl nor Fenix entries, and both are working flawlessly.

I use GSX and as far as I can see there is no entry in exe.xml. I believe the Couatl engine does the job on its own.

Hello folks, I've got an AM4 platform already and I am very happy with it, although MSFS is CPU limited in most complex airports. But given the information and videos found on the net, I wonder if I'd better replace my 5950x with a 5800x3D. I don't really like the idea of a CPU downgrade but I only use my PC for office, internet and FS and I don't really need the power of the 5950x actually. As I'm sure I won't upgrade my PC for several years, I don't need to wait for AM5 or go back to Intel with DDR5. I hesitate, and any input about the difference between the 5950x and the 5800x3D in regard with MSFS would be welcome, knowing that I use a huge 4K 165Hz monitor. 😉

Get out of the SU11 Beta Go to the “Official” folder Save these 2 folders to another location so that they are no longer present in the game: “fs_base” - “fs-base-ui-pages”. Start MSFS 2020 - now a download should start with a few GB… Now you are back in SU10 and everything works normally again. 😉

The A320 is built using 89% aeroplane and just 11% aircraft. 😄
