Thom's short hops: Olympic field - Diamond Point
Hello there, I have not posted for a long time, but now I'm finally back into business :Loser: I just discovered how great "bush flying" is. I'm usually a heavy metal flyer, but with great GA add-ons popping around I had to give GA flying a try. Here is a report of today's flight from Olympic Field to Diamond Point, in the Pacific Northwest. So, here we go (with a little fictionnal story): Despite quite strong winds, this summer morning is ok for a little flight around the Discovery Bay. From Wikipedia: Discovery Bay is located on the Olympic peninsula of Washington State. The bay enters the Strait of Juan de Fuca between the Miller and Quimper Peninsulas. The bay's mouth is just south of Protection Island, a small Federally-protected nature preserve. Discovery Bay is 6–7 miles in length, and a bit over a mile wide at its mouth. It is fed by Snow Creek, among other small watercourses ( http://en.wikipedia....Bay,_Washington) Today's airplane is a Bonanza A36 N4725T, with state-of-the art flight instruments. But today is a good old VFR flight and my eyes will be my best "flight instrument": After the usual aircraft exterior checks, I can start the engine and prepare for that nice (and shaky) flight. Olympic Field is a very small airfield, with one grass runway and one water "runway". The taxi sequence to the runway is really bumpy. As you can see in the next screenshot, the windsock clearly shows that i'll get a crosswind take off. Oh well, this can make for an interesting experience That's a cool runway, isn't it? That was definitely a crosswind take-off! A few seconds after departure, left turn and wow, what a view! A couple of minutes later we already have a clear view of Diamond Point. The little island you see behind Diamond Point is called Protection Island. This is our next destination: Now vertical of Protection Island, right turn for a nice overfly and then preparation for landing in Diamond Point. Diamond Point has a tiny concrete runway. With quite some wind today, I really hope to land safely. If not I will end up into the Pacific Ocean :Praying: Ouch, that was close! Sorry, no landing pics, but I was fighting too much with both the yoke and the wind :P . Taxiing back to parking: Engine shut down, It has been a very quick but enjoyable flight above a very nice-looking bay and great scenery overall. Now I need a beer ^_^ http://i.imgur.com/HkNYf.jpg Add-ons used for that flight: Carenado Bonanza A36 ORBX NA Pacific Northwest ORBX 2WA1 Diamond Point REX 2 Thanks a lot for watching, do not hesitate to comment! Cheers, Ps: I don't know why the last screenshot doesn't show. I get a message stating Sorry, but you have posted more images than you are allowed to, but I only posted 10 pics, and only 9 appear. Does anybody got an idea?

Lufthansa Airbus A340-642
Great to see you paint on Thomas Ruth's A346 model. Thomas Ruth models are really great, as are the VCs, especially for freeware models. :(

Air France and Air Canada EMBs uploaded
Hi Steve,I'm delighted to see that you're still in the paintshop ^_^The Air France looks excellent, and I imagine the pain to get the tail right. Why did Wilco use such a strange mapping for its tail texture? Anyway, this one is already in my hanger :( (and why not give the AF 190 a little brother... hint hint... 175 :( )Best regards,

Hydraulic problem with other aircraft
Little update: The Hydraulic and oil quantities are OK (apart on the CLS MD-80), but I usually get an error about HYD pressure even with the default A321 (even though the HYD QTY is ok). This might help

Hydraulic problem with other aircraft
Hello pilots, First of all I would like to congratulate the PMDG team for bringing such a complete airplane. I'm still amazed about the number of systems you reproduced.Yet I have an issue that could be related to the PMDG's NGX. Not 100% sure about it, but my problems began since I installed the aircraft.Let me go into detail (I searched this forum to see if an answer was available, but found nothing. Please forgive me if I missed a post about it): Since I installed the NGX, my other aircraft lack hydraulic and oil pressure. Be it with CLS MD-80 or Captainsim 757, my HYD PRESS is often too low to get the aircraft work correctly. Sometimes I have enough pressure for take-off, but won't be able to lower the flaps on approach, and sometimes I can't even put the flaps for take-off or retract the landing gear. I did a flight succesfully yesterday by loading the NGX first and then switching to another aircraft. That is why I think it is related with the PMDG. If it is not, please forgive me for pointing this out, but I'm sure you'll be interested being advised about this possible issue. Thank you for your help! Best regards,Thomas
