Many addons work in v5 - I've installed ORBX ground textures and NA land class, and working airports include most of the FSDT, Flightbeam, and Fly Tampa products. V5 is looking very good here. Of course, I'm missing my detailed aircraft (although the A2A aircraft are working), real world weather, and AI aircraft. Soon...

There may be and when I added P3D v5 to Chaseplane, it ported over that setting. I’ll need to confirm that tomorrow.
-
TIR works for me as does Chaseplane. No tweaking needed, so I don’t have any insights as to why others are having problems.

Then check this out: https://www.islay.blog/article.php/scotch-golden-dram-islay Myself, I'm open to any number of options. Hope to download the new sim tomorrow, assuming that reviews are largely positive.

And I'm experiencing a P3D KERNELBASE.dll crash when attempting an engine start. Where is the best place for support?

Best Military Jet Fighter for P3DV4 (PMDG-Style)?
RudiJG1 replied to enrico10999's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
I like the Vertical Reality Simulations FA-18 Superbug...absolutely a PMDG/FSL-style aircraft. -
A Short Video Look at AeroSoft's CRJ Professional

There isn't one yet for the Pro...but its coming. -
I came to the same conclusion about Sky Force clouds and now use only HiFi or Envtex clouds at low resolutions...and my environment looks good.

The airspeed indicator on my system is very smooth, at least to my eye. Overall, I’m pleased with this new 737, having flown the NGX for years.

Intolerable framerate under I7-8700k and RTX2080
RudiJG1 replied to JerryC's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
And I still like it much better than FSX. Back on topic... I'm running P3D 4.5 on an I7-8700k and RTX2070 with 16GB 3200Mhz RAM; the CPU is overclocked to 4.5 GHz, which was accomplished by simply enabling turbo boost via the BIOS on my MSI Z370 Carbon Gaming Pro MB. A smooth sim experience can be achieved easily...follow some of the good advice in this thread, particularly regarding AI traffic volume, and beware of road traffic altogether. -

FSLabs and Aerosoft A320 (graphics point of view)
RudiJG1 replied to Simicro's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
Great suggestion...as a FSL A320X beta tester, I'd often test new builds of the aircraft with Mike's ebook open to chapters about the particular systems or procedures I was tasked with testing. The resemblance to reality was both striking and exciting. -
Wishing for a speedy treatment and recovery, Jim.

How can I stop Scenery database building every time?
RudiJG1 replied to Nyxx's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
David, are you using FTX Central in between sessions? It'll force a regeneration of scenery indices after each use of that tool. Any other tool that re-orders scenery layers or injects new layers will cause this as well. I don't know if SimStarter would cuase this, but it might if you've configured it to inject specific layers each time you use it to launch P3D. I have MSE photoscenery layers but don't experience this issue. -
FSLabs A3XX - Can it possibly get any better!?!?!?
RudiJG1 replied to klamal's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
About the same...and I should know. 😉 -

I'm very pleased with my i7-8700K/RTX2070 combo in P3D v4.4. I've included 16Gb of fast RAM (GSkill RipJaws V3200) with an MSI Z370 Carbon Gaming Pro MB, and this system runs the sim very well.

Opinions about Concorde X and Prepar3D v4 (Release or not) ?
RudiJG1 replied to wyman_hd's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
the unknowable...how to please everyone all of the time 😉 -
Thank you for providing this handy tool....much appreciated!

There are good tutorials, as mentioned (see Blackbox711 on YouTube), including a good pdf-based tutorial that comes with the aircraft itself. There won't be available the kind of manuals that come with the PMDG Boeings, simply because Airbus hasn't made them available to FSL.

John, the guy next to me on that flight was retired USAF...he was sure the incident we experienced together resulted in a broken eardrum...he was in pain, but it was pain he was familiar with due to his USAF flight record. I was shaken but physically fine.
