  1. Hi, I can confirm the same. Started yesterday evening - massive stutters on approach to ENGM. Today stutters the whole flight - although it seems worst during take-off and approach. I also have massive delays in the flight planner when zooming in - so it looks like maybe a texture / server problem? I have an AMD GPU - so it cannot be a Nvidia driver thing.... GG
  2. But you should make sure that the RAM is officially supported by the mainboard manufacturer & board type - especially when using RAM kits & EXPO / XMP profiles. : Gigabyte B650 AORUS ELITE MEMORY SUPPORT
  3. Same here - yesterday in the vicinity of Punta Gorda/Florida (KPGD). Was really surprised at first until I realized its lightning & thunder. Cumulus was not present... Still - nice to see! Haven't seen that in a very long time. GG
  4. Nice! Thanks for the tip! Picked up the Metroliner - that price cannot be beaten! Nico
  5. Hi, here is the webcam from Stavanger (Sola) ENZV Airport: http://www.aftenbladet.no/webkamera/flyplassen/ Not that much action compared to EHAM, but is has flightradar24 pictured embedded on the web-page - so following the planes is neat. And you have the occasional rare stuff (right now an ambulance Beach B200 is "unloading" right in front the camera). We have quite often bigger Russian transports coming in to deliver offshore equipment and a couple of weeks ago we got a new Sikorsky S-92 helicopter delivered to Bristow transported by an AN-124. Have Fun! Nico
  6. Basically - I do not think that we will see better CPUs in terms of clock speed in the future. In 2006, when FSX was released one already could buy 3.7GHz CPUs (e.g. Intel Pressler EE 965) - today Intels fastes CPU is still 3.7GHz (e.g. i7-4820K or the Xeon E5-1660 v2). Yes AMD has a 4.5GHz CPU but it has limited overclocking capability. I am talking about stock CPUs - no overclocking or something. Compared to 2006, the CPUs are more efficient and are working on more cores. So they are actually working on several tasks in parallel and the performance increase is not based on actual clock speed. Parallel tasks is not something FSX is actually benefiting from and therefore we still heavily depend on actual clock speeds and we basically got stuck for 7 years with the same clock speed now. As for the world outside FSX - the classic PC market is declining rapidly due to mobile devices and new generation consoles. Development of new and faster CPUs is a huge investment into a market which is actually going down. Gaming as a classic driver for innovation is more and more focused on GPUs and just lock how GPUs have developed over the years. Again - not something FSX is really focusing on. As for the "normal user" - nobody needs better CPU for using the internet or writing e-mails or working with Excel in the office. I think we reached the end there CPU wise. Its more interesting now to have more efficient CPUs e.g. energy wise to allow for longer battery load cycles with mobile devices than actual higher clock speeds for the majority of the market in my opinion. GG
  7. Hi, Nemeth Design is offering everything for $9.95,- (except latest Eurocopter EC-130 B4). Sale lasts from 17.12. - 23.12.2013. http://www.nemethdesigns.com/ Have fun! GG
  8. Hi, ORBX has a sale (download products) at The FlighSim Store: http://www.flightsimstore.com/index.php?manufacturers_id=92&sort=3a&page=1 44% on all FTX regions (not Global though) 33% on most of their airports and some other stuff. Sale ends Jan. 2nd. 2014. Have fun! GG
  9. Hi everyone, Kerbal Space Program is on sale (40%off) on STEAM until the 18. Nov. It is not a flight sim in a conventional way and it is still in the early access state - however I really enjoy it and it is already fully playable in sandbox mode and got recently added an early stage career mode. Great community too! If you want to check it - there is a demo version available at the kerbal homepage. https://kerbalspaceprogram.com/demo.php Have a nice day! Nico

Hi, I had the same behavior using the PMDG 747. Turned out that A2A AccuFeel is interfering with the flight model in one way or another. If any of you with this problem have AccuFeel installed - tried deactivating it? Nico A.
  11. They probably having a drinking game with that... And a lot of fun at work lately... Nico
  12. Nice pics! Also pretty cool with the red stickers, which show an english description/translation. Would be a nice feature to switch between to panels, one original and one with these stickers... Thanks for these! Nico
  13. Well, I also had problems with taxiing and the tail wheel. No matter what i tried, the thing just seemed to be locked. The manual does not say anything specific about differential breaking and all my other tail wheel planes work fine. I tried to find a solution, tried to check for an update (via the installed update programm from Sibwings) and it told me that it could not find my FSX installation. Curious - I used the Flight1 registry repair for FSX and now my tail wheel works nice without a update being available. Both, by using the rudder or via a joystick (depending on the autorudder function under the realism settings) Every time i choose the AN-2 in FSX, i can see for a split second that it starts some software in the background. Maybe the correct registry entry for FSX is required for certain functions. Just an idea from my side. Nico
  14. Got it today and it's just a fantastic add-on. It feels nice, sounds beautiful, handles great, the VC locks authentic and worn. Its a bargain for 20 bucks! Great that there are still developers out there trying something new and somewhat unorthodox. No enough quality Russian birds out there! Appreciate it! Raised in former East Germany, i still remember seeing them in the air once in a while - but mostly i remember the books from my grandfathers library about Russia/Siberia and the countless pictures of this plane in daily use there. Liked it so much -had it as a model plane when i was kid. All i need now is some nice scenery with dirt strips in the unaccessible regions of Russia... Get out and get it! Nico

I love the PMDG products and their dedication to detail and i just want them to go on with their own vision of products instead of requesting or suggesting anything all the time. I think we all went down a really nice road with them so far. There are already some decent products out there, resembling regional jets such as the E-Jet series or the EMJ-145 series. I can only recommend both of them and while note being perfect, they definitely are in the "good" to "very good" region of available, commercial products. (this statement is based on enjoyment flying them) As much as i prefer realistic and fully featured products - i just have to admit, as an electrical engineer, i could never tell the difference since I've never flown anything in real life ... I'd rather have some more diversity from different developers in good quality than having the same planes being developed again and again. As Ryan and Barry pointed out - a decent CRJ-series would be really nice. I personally would also like to see an ATR series, a SAAB 340/2000, a complete Fokker 70/100 or a flyable, complete Airbus series. Not to mention any Russian planes or decent vintage planes such as a DC-8... I am kind of disappointed in FSX being around for so many years now and there are so many every day planes out there not being represented in a native FSX version at all (in good commercial quality). Looking around - i feel that there are more good weather/scenery/texture developers out there than good plane developers (there are some really good GA developers, however I am talking about commercial airliners). Commercially strange, since while less development effort is needed to be invested into airport development, i don't see the same costumer base per airport (or at least i believe). I just want more developers like PMDG working on different commercial airliners. And before anybody is offended by this - this is my personal opinion - Everybody can fell and express....whatever... ^_^ Nico
  16. Your plane seems rather unresponsive when applying the rudder when trying to de-crab. Also, i can see no aileron action to try to level the wings out? Have you tried some crosswind landings without Ideal Flight in the back-ground just to eliminate the 3rd party possibility? I've had some really weird characteristics with my (especially GA, light) planes in Ideal Flight with their Thermal and Ridge Lift system activated. Nico
  17. I would go for the MilViz 310R, 2 engine GA - it comes with an analogue and a digital G1000 version. Its a stunner and is fantastic to fly. Another possibility is the Lionheart Kodiac (a bit big for an real GA imo). It also also features a digital panel with a nice, big terrain GPS. Nico
  18. Why this: 1 = 2, -9.0, -15.2, 1.6, fx_shockwave_strobe,light. Should the "light" not stand before the number? When i look at another examle for FSX Carenado right from the A2A webpage: [LIGHTS] light.0 = 3, 0.3, -16.850, 0.75, fx_navredcarbonV light.1 = 3, 0.5, 16.850, 0.75, fx_navgrecarbonV , light.2 = 2, 0.2, -16.718, 0.75, fx_shockwave_strobe_nl , light.3 = 2, 0.15, 16.850, 0.75, fx_shockwave_strobe_nl_2 , light.4 = 1, -6.50, 0.05, 2.8, fx_beaconcarbonV light.5 = 2, -17.6, -0.05, 0.90, fx_navwhicarbonV , light.6 = 2, -17.4, -0.05, 0.90, fx_strobecarbonV , light.7 = 4, 1.0, 0.00, 1.10, fx_vclightcarbonV, light.8 = 5, 7.6, 0.00, -1.75, fx_shockwave_landing_light_narrow_no_flare, light.9 = 6, 8.05, 0.07, -0.12, fx_shockwave_landing_light_tail_old, Nico
  19. I can recommend SEQU Quito Mariscal Sucre Intl. (the old one) Try a AA 757 from Miami (arrival at night) or a Delta 737 from Atlanta. (Shorter hops from Bogota). 180deg turn between the mountains while descending and only 7 mi to go after you finished your turn. Additionally, its a high altitude airport (Elv. 9222) in the middle of the city. Nico
  20. I see that you have oc your PC. Noticed any messages when booting up? Maybe your mainboard is in "safe-mode", deactivating any oc settings? You can check performance using the freeware CPU-Z. It will show you oc settings and actual processor speed. Make sure you have FSX running (window mode) so you're not getting fooled by dynamic oc. Or use PRIME95 for a load test on the CPU and memory. Also nice to evaluate CPU temps (use REAL TEMP freeware for that). Nico
  21. Summer1 - i don't agree. Got a worse PC-base (2600k at 4.2GHz with GTX560Ti, WIn7 Index 7.8) - no problem running FSX smooth with the NGX, 100% AI (WoAI complete) at FSDT KLAX with HD WX graphics from Active Sky 2012 and ground environment X. SInce i upgraded my PC like a year ago - i am very happy with FSX. Even my most demanding add-on, my Maddog is finally a joy to fly. I dont have everything maxed out - but only Autogen and Scenery Complexity on very dense. Dont use shadows, since they interact with my Aerosoft sceneries. I had stuttering in the beginning, but upgraded to a dedicated SSD. Since then even that is gone. So it works for me... Nico ... I find that having no pension plan or health insurance much more ignorant than trying to max. out your FSX installation, but maybe thats just my perspective...
  22. Don't want to sound rude here... and don't get it the wrong way - but: 1. You got to turn anything down with the PC-beast you've got? 2. Isn't that something you can find by your own very fast? E.g. Monitor your FPS in different situations (airport, heavy clouds...) and either have all maxed out and set only one slider to 0 or all to zero and one maxed out. The amount of sliders is pretty limited in FSX... However - i would suggest AI, cloud drawing distance and water effects. Stuff without sliders you can try would be shadows, lens flare and light bloom... Nico Nico
  23. When the NGX was released, (after a couple of T'nG) i did a delivery flight Norwegian KBFI - ENBR on Active Air Source. Used the orginal flightplan from flightaware. Empty plane, max. fuel - took 9h something... Showed how accurate the thing is design concerning fuel managment .... Nico
  24. Hi, for what it is worth - I own Ultimate Traffic II. Not too happy with it and i returned to my old AI solution. Problems I had: The list of Airlines is not complete - and after buying a schedule update - no new airlines are added. E.g. Ryanair is missing. Or FedEx and UPS. I understand that the developers have no access to all of the schedules - but there are a lot of Airlines missing. Also - a lot of liveries are missing and replaced with a generic one. Could understand it for some fancy airlines, but also some regional traffic from big US airlines has generic liveries. Adding new liveries usually means also to add new models of the planes, since there are not that many liveries for download for the native UT2 models. Another problem i had was that traffic injection system in use. I want dense traffic at Airports. EDDF is always full. But when a plane is about to take of - its gate is taking immediately by a new plane popping out of thin air. I actually had problems finding empty gates. One could decrease the amount of traffic, but i was not happy with that. I spend a lot of time adding/replacing liveries and airlines, but i had problems with damaging the database all the time and getting a back-up to work... well it did not work for me. Also - the Airline ICAO code is sometimes not correct. E.g. Lufthansa Gargo (ICAO GEC) is designated DLH. So on your airports with gate assignments, you end up with some mess, especially airlines with a cargo subsidiary. You can fix that, but it needs tweaking. I regularly experienced the traffic disappearing on long-haul flights. I was wondering why i stopped seeing other planes, but then i land on empty airports (LAX!). That happened like 8 out of 10 flights on different airports. When you add your own airlines - that is some work. An awful lot of Info is needed, like airline, operator, country, Airline codes,...., one has to assing liveries/planes, a lot of airports are missing in the database and they have to be assigned too when importing flight schedules... What i liked: Regular updates (once a year?) Flight schedules include airways! That is a really cool feature! Nice export feature of the database - showing installed airlines, aircraft, liveries... (but is also kind of scary - one actually sees how many liveries are missing...) Now - I understand that a lot of people are very happy with the product and this here is just my personal experience. I just want to point out the problems i had with the product. Nico
  25. You are right about that, but as shown in your manual picture IAP can only be requested within approach airspace. However, the controller tries regularly to get you down earlier, even when it is not time to descend yet. That is actually problematic since that function seems not to consider the environment. Try landing in Almaty UAAA - RC4 will vector you right into the mountains. Same for some airports in the Andes. You HAVE to follow a proper STAR to avoid that problem if possible. Also - if you dont include the STAR in the flightplan for RC4 (unknown approach when planning) and you choose a STAR which requires a change in course (when not requested an IAP because most of the STAR courses starts much earlier than the approach airspace), RC4 gets quit annoying, because it thinks you are not following the flightplan. You can fix that by choosing an approach that is valid for any Rwy when planning and then just add the active runway , however not all airports have such "any rwy" STARs. I then usually choose a runway depending on wind direction while planning and choose a STAR accordingly. But if the weather changes and RC4 assigns a different runway the STAR is invalid. The only way to avoid RC4 nagging then is to follow vectors or to request "your" rwy - with the usual result that the AI gets in the way. Also you cannot get the active runway when >50mi from the airport (via ATIS information) - but depending on your FL, RC4 demands a descend like 80mi out, sometimes 100mi when FL 410. I never see that corresponding to an actual STAR descend profile. I dont know how the STAR operation is done in real live. I saw some videos somewhere, indicating that the pilots choose the STAR when setting up the FMS before start. I think that might be working with weather data when going on short trips. But long haul? Wind directing and approaches might changes underway... BUT: Apart from this, RC4 is a fine piece of software! Nico
