  1. It's easy: http://translate.google.com/#auto/en/drzewiecki Just click on the speaker icon on the left side, where Polish language is selected
  2. FSX does not support more than 4 engines. The only thing to do this "properly" would be to externalize everything, controls, engine model, at least parts of FM.
  3. Ah, yes, that would be interesting: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_detailpage&v=KZWMIzViRww
  4. On some airplanes FLCH (or similar) mode is "smart" and for small altitude changes like 2'000 ft will apply little thrust change to provide smooth transition. On other planes it's dumb and will always move throttles to max climb or idle thrust, which is not very pleasant for passengers. For example in 737 it's "dumb" and in 777 it's "smart".
  5. Have you tested using the same addons and scenery settings? Because otherwise the comparison doesn't mean much. Also loading the same place for a second time even after FSX restart is faster because the data is already in RAM, maybe the guy did just that. Besides, FSX loadings times depend greatly on the CPU speed and number of cores. Actually, it's the only place where having more than 4 cores can make a difference. If you open up Task Manager you'll see that during FSX loading for most of the time all cores work at 100%. I switched from Crucial M4 128GB to Samsung 830 256GB and apart from the space available, I haven't noticed any difference. Lack of free space was the only reason why I changed SSD's.
  6. To clarify further: this setting affects only textures with mipmaps. It doesn't matter if it's aircraft's texture or scenery, but since 99,9% aircraft addons don't use mipmaps, aircrafts are not affected by this setting.

That's a render. And not a very detailed one.
  8. The C172R for example has the GPS/NAV switch as a factory standard, just like the default FSX model. It simply changes the source which drives CDI and autopilot. I think most aircraft with panel mounted GPS'es have such switches, it's not rocket science. The real C172R has also a second switch, GPS APR that allows GPS to drive GSI during approaches without ILS. Full VNAV is rare, and not used very often in GA world.
  9. The small ~50 seat jets are uneconomical to run at current fuel prices, so many airlines are phasing them out. This applies both to Canadair's CRJ-200 and Embraer's ERJ-145
  10. There's also freeware Project Tupolev Tu-154b2 for FSX. Don't get mislead with it's freeware tag, it's one of the most complex airliners made for MSFS.
  11. Well, they set up their forum several days after release, so for the time being, avsim was the main place to discuss the plane and technical issues. Anyway, PMDG T7 seems to be on short final. As for FSL A320, no one really knows, but we will probably wait some more time. The updates from devs are infrequent, so there is not much to discuss at this point.
  12. Or A2A Boeing 377 Stratocruiser. Feelthere E-Jets had that several years ago. We're too spoiled here. My vote goes for swimsuit models
  13. Unlocked in game, but locked externally in display driver. In this configuration I get better FPS when my PC is unable to reach the FPS limit (40fps), while I'm not getting stutters and FPS jumps that I would get without any FPS limit.
  14. Hey, that's a great tip. I have some saved situations that I use for practicing landing and take off's in various aircraft, and up to this day I had to reset the date every time I loaded one of them.
  15. First, let's count how many companies are able to make good quality 767. And have something like 2 years of free time to make one. Second, let's think if it's really profitable to make such a complex airliner for the third time for FSX.
  16. TBH I expected the same price as NGX. Especially that we'll have to fork out probably another ~30$ for -300.
  17. As I said "at the same quality level" means no bump mapping, specular etc. These all are optional things and there are even payware models released without them. Exporting VC to another file doesn't add to workload. You still have to make it in FS9 if you want one, just keep it in the same file. At least in FSX you don't have to stick to strict objects hierarchy and naming convention for model parts.
  18. Not exactly true. The techniques used may be slightly different, but it's the same or even easier to make addons for FSX at the same quality level as for FS9.But of course most people don't expect FS9 quality in FSX. We want more and devs also try to do more.
  19. Not completely. Trackir still resets to the predefined eyepoint position. I don't know about anything that OP asks, but there is "aircraft reload" keyboard shortcut in FSX that could speed up the process a little.
  20. The first two were made by Feelthere and only published/sold by Wilco. They are actually pretty good systems wise (no failures modelled). I wouldn't say that the FMC is simplified. It has full LNAV/VNAV capability, perf. calculations, SID/STARS and custom waypoints database. Actually it's the same database format that Majestic uses. Ejets v2. and v1 are almost identical packages, just a different aircraft versions, E175/E195 vs E170/190. Visually they look more dated than ERJ's, which is a bit newer addon. Still a nice plane to fly and one of the most automated airliners. ERJ's 135-145 are quite similar to Dash Q400, and actually it is the type of airplane that first replaced Dash8-200/300 in many airlines and now is being replaced by Q400 due to better fuel economy. No autothrottle on this one and FMC is a bit 'exotic' if you are used to Boeing type FMC's. I think it's the best addon Feelthere made. My biggest problem with both ERJ and Ejets, apart from dated looks is that autopilot sometimes makes very jerky movements. Other than that, the simulation level can be compared to the recent QW Bae 146. The Islander is just the opposite flying experience. Low & slow, classic piston plane.
  21. The INS is built into the model, works perfectly fine in the VC and of course it can drive the autopilot. It's not CIVA INS but it is a simulation of the same Delco Carousel INS. Wing flex AFAIK is not implemented. Something about rigid wings that don't flex so much.
  22. I agree with what others said. Very nice addon, with good FM, systems simulation, sounds, and very good autopilot, that works smoothly and guides the plane without jerks. And of course the auotpilot has all custom modes implemented, like IAS, CWS, autoland. No FMC, but INS is easy to use and you can load FSX flightplan into it in 3 clicks. Or you can enter coordinates of every waypoint of the route step by step. At the initial release some people complained that the Flight Engineer's panel is 2D and night lightning is too bright, but both issues have been fixed in Service Pack. Apart from FSLabs Concorde and Project Tupolev Tu-154, it's the best '70s era airliner out there. And the easiest to operate of the three.
  23. I also had this issue when landing yesterday on EPKK ILS25. I use custom scenery by Drzewiecki Design. I think It happened around the time when I lowered the flaps once, but the second time when the aircraft was pretty stable on approach.
  24. I don't quite get which system simulation in Dash is superior to NGX. Two different planes with different avionics and capabilities, that's it. Guess which one has better documentation and tutorials. FDE? Maybe it's better, but so far I've seen some quirks like plane jumping on the parking spot when loading or accessing menus, weird behavior on flaps 45 on landing and so on. It's different, maybe better, but perfect? Not yet.
