  1. When I experienced this over southern Italy,I was not at low altitude at all. I was cruising along at FL370 or so and it was very prominent every time I looked out the left window from the cockpit. You are right in calling it texture swapping though, as that is how I would term it as well. It is extrememly bothersome and absolutely kills the immersion when it happens. All that said, I have NOT experienced it since I deleted my DirectX and OpenGL shaders the other day. I have only performed a handful of flights since then, so I cannot say that is a definitive fix on my end yet. But, so far so good.
  2. I love a good trailer, thanks for posting these here πŸ™‚
  3. I will add that I have never had the Google Map mod thingy installed on my system, and I had used Bijan's way back in the early days of MSFS, but have long since removed it and have done a few fresh MSFS reinstalls since then. I don't think this tile shading changing is related to either of those mods.
  4. Yep, I have seen and experienced this too, most recently when flying over Sicily and the southern Italian mainland area. I was flying west to east from LEIB to LDSP, as FL380 in the PMDG 737-600. After that flight, I exited MSFS and deleted my Nvidia DirectX and OpenGL shaders, rebooted my PC and then conducted two more flights in the Australian region. I flew the PMDG 737-600 from YBBN to the newly released YBHM and then I flew the Fenix A320 back to YBBN. On these two flights I did NOT experience this shader/graphics anomaly. It's too soon to say if deleting my shaders did any good or not, but that is my experience with this thus far. It is a real issue. And, I have very robust fiber optic internet service at 1Gb download and upload. My TLOD settings are at 150, and when I first noticed this issue on that Italian flyover, I adjusted the TLOD setting up to max and down to 100. It did not make the issue go away, but it did affect the speed of the shading change of the terrain. Weird. The whole issue is strange.
  5. No, they do not. The 12000 series and the 13000 series use the same socket though. The 10900K uses the LGA 1200 socket, whilst the 12000 and 13000 use the LGA 1700 socket.
  6. I have an MSI 4090 24Gb GPU, and it is much more silent then my 3090Ti (which is still in use in another PC in my home). It also runs cooler, and uses less power then my 3090Ti does. I have it paired with a 13900K CPU and between the two, my bottleneck is balances between the two. I also have a 5800X3D that I used to run MSFS on (with the 3090Ti) and although it performed extremely well and was the best for MSFS when it first came out, my 13900K outperforms it handedly. Now, there are also plenty good CPU options in the Ryzen 7000 series, and between the Intel 13000 series and those, they are all good options for MSFS and a top end GPU like a 4090. The reason I went with a 13900K is simply that I did not have to buy a new motherboard, and I already had DDR5 RAM so all I had to buy was the CPU. Had I gone with an AMD Ryzen 7000 series I would have had to buy new RAM and Motherboard as well as the CPU's, which were also higher priced then the 13900K. But, that was my situation. I am sure if my situation was different, I would be equally happy with an AMD 7950X, 7900X or a 7800X3D. The takeaway for me is the absolutely awesome MSFS performance increase that the 4090 gives me over my 3090Ti. Oh, and I run at 1440P, upscaled, not 4K. Some will say performance is wasted, but I disagree. I am able to run several background apps while flying. My favorite aircraft to fly are the Fenix and the PMDG 737's and into the big, busy airports. And, for once, I have a system that is ahead of the power curve so to speak, with performance in the bank as more detailed scenery and aircraft starts to be developed and released.
  7. Nice! Glad I could be of some small assistance. Blast that "Mustang Sally" loud and proud!!! 😁 So I can keep this thread on topic as well, I have almost all the Black Square aircraft and they have quickly become my favorite GA planes to fly in MSFS. I really enjoy the upgraded systems and how the fly, and I really feel like BS will do the Dukes justice. We'll have to wait and see though.
  8. Well, I would say that the subtitle thing is an urban myth indeed since I did see that movie in the theaters here when it came out years ago and I don't remember any problems understanding it. Enjoyed it too, and even have the sound track buried somewhere in my CD collection in the back of my closet...lol. Granted, based on age/generation there are those who are probably not so aware of the film. But, I have traveled all over the globe and have pulled all kinds of different generes of music from various locales into my enjoyment sphere πŸ™‚ Why limit oneself to just the enjoyable things in one's own country afterall, when there is so much more out there. Go forth and explore, I say, explore! 😁
  9. It will be awesome to have some nice renditions of both Dukes in MSFS, that is for sure. I too flew the both of them a ton in FSX and P3D.
  10. I have seen some...not very many, but a few each time.
  11. I think it looks good, certainly better then the autogen version πŸ˜‰
  12. No, you can use both. I have been doing that for awhile without any issues.
  13. Okay, it's working for me now. Please disregard and Mods may delete this thread if desired. I don't know what the problem was.
  14. For those of you that use the Orbx Central app, have any of you had problems logging into it and accessing your purchases? I have not been able to get into Orbx Central for the past two hours, and after checking Orbx website, I do not see any mention of any technical issues posted there. So, just wanting to see if it is only on my end or anyone else experiencing it too. Issues like this are some of the disadvantages of these vendor apps. When they don't work, us customers cannot access our purchases. I wanted to reinstall an aircraft into MSFS (the //42 KitFox/FreedomFox), but I cannot while this problem is ongoing. 😞
  15. I have no real world pilot experience. With that, I have been using MSFS since it's release. After lots of time with most of the default GA planes, and then the various Just Flight Arrows, I jumped on the Blackbird (MilViz) C310R and I agree, it's one of the most well rounded GA payware aircraft you can get. I also really love the Black Square aircraft. I have them all except the King Air. My favorite of them is the Caravan, and I feel it flies much better then the default Caravan. If you like bush flying, I think you would be happy with that one. It flies like I feel it should, even though I am no real life pilot like I mentioned. Also, check out the WB-Sim 172 Enhancement at the Just Flight store. I have not purchased that one yet, but I have researched it very much and it looks like a similar type of addon as the Black Square addons. You have to have bought the deluxe or premium deluxe version of MSFS, because it uses the analog C172. In fact, all of the aircraft I mentioned are the analog versions, as I prefer them as well. Oh, and I agree with @Stearmandriver above, the Blackbird (MilViz) analog version of the PC-6 Porter is also another good GA release.
  16. This is looking great indeed! I have been exploring and enjoying several of your other releases in MSFS and this looks like it will fit right in πŸ™‚
  17. This entire thread has had me chuckling...the comments in here have been priceless...love it! 😁
  18. Hey there Gerold @Stiller Water, nice to hear from you my friend across the ocean πŸ˜‰ The biggest thing that stands out to me that I would recommend to change is the case. Fractal make great cases (three PC's in my home I have built use Fractal cases). However, that particular case is not ventilated enough, in my opinion. Maybe with a much weaker CPU and GPU you could get away with that, but even with an AIO cooler like proper case ventilation is still ultra important for today's hotter hardware. If you want to stay Fractal, then I would recommend the Meshify 2 case or, even better the Fractal Torrent II case. The Torrent is one of the best cases out there right now, and has been for over a year. Great airflow, lots if internal room and a great setup for installing everything. Everything else looks pretty good in your list. πŸ™‚
  19. Nice find and 'fix' Dominque. I will have to try this out on my Warthog HOTAS πŸ˜‰
  20. I, for one always appreciate any update to my aircraft and scenery. Improvements, even small, are still improvements. And the PMDG 737's are some of my most enjoyable aircraft in MSFS.
  21. I will be getting this one for sure! The price is attractive indeed.
  22. PG off for me. I don't like the look of the melted buildings and monolithic looking trees. And, I DO have very fast internet speed (1Ghz fiber), so I don't think that is the main culprit. Also, solid bridge structures are all over the place when PG is on, solid dock structures like cranes etc. The night lighting is also not as good with the PG generated buildings, whereas I think the lighting looks much better with the autogen buildings. The autogen in MSFS is on a whole different level compared to previous sims, so running with PG off is not as big a difference as some would think.
  23. I agree...and your first post is what flight simming is all about, to me anyway. Just enjoying the moment and having fun in the sim πŸ™‚
