  1. Go to windowed mode instead of restarting FSX. You may concider opening 2D in a separate undocked window, you can avoid the stretched distorted image. After fixing the 2D view go from windowed to full screen mode again.Bjorn
  2. http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/cpus/2011/01/07/how-to-overclock-the-intel-core-i5-2500k/1 Hope this will do :-)Bjorn
  3. You could open new view, choose VC, undock and drag onto 2nd screen. You can zoom in on instuments, shouldn't freeze. Could also open more VC views, zoom in on each of the instruments you want, resize the undocked windows...Bjorn
  4. Hi Mo.Have your native res. in win7 set to 5040x1050, which is the max res. for TH2G. In the FSX setup you should see 5040x1050 available. Otherwise change it in fsx.cfgEdit the fsx.cfg: WideView=True if you haven't already. What you get is a very wide view, and your zoom factor will determine the field of view. Zooming out will give you greater angle on FOV, but you'll get a fish eye lens view. I'd say stay around 0,9 zoom factor. Expect some slight warping far left and right. For 4th, and 5th monitors: Create two views, 2x virtual cockpit, use arrow keys and zoom factor to fit side views. If 5 monitors are too much for your cpu, dump side monitors, and get TrackIR 4 or 5. Gives decent side views when turning your head.Bjorn
  5. A very thin layer should be applied, difficult to quantify...I usually make a Z of the paste on the chip, then spread it evenly with a plastic gloved fingertip. Some of the applied paste will come off in the process, of course. I make sure to earth myself before touching the chip. I know some would just put some paste on the center and let the squeeze of the heat sink spread it out, but I like to see it guaranteed evenly distributed. Other methods, anyone?!Bjorn
  6. Auto voltages are always higher than actually needed. Try lowering vcore manually until you experience instability in stress test, then up it a notch or two, and see what temps are.Otherwise I'd recommend the painstaking task of studying up on OC and do it all manually. There's tons of tutorials out there. And there may be specific tweaks and advice for your particular mobo, so look up on that too. Good luck!Bjorn
  7. Skip the service packs, just install Accel.Turn UAC off.Bjorn
  8. Marginally, yes. For stability's sake I'd concider the 2000 MHz and downclock them a bit according to whatever you clock your system to. But, if you're staying at current settings, as seen in your sig, the 1600s are probably the easiest and cheapest option.B
  9. Divide CAS by frequency, then compare, lowest number is the fastest. Bjorn
  10. For a full tutorial on FSUIPC google Sim Samurai + FSUIPC. It's endorsed by Pete. Good luck with your setup :Batting Eyelashes: Bjorn
  11. ;-) thanks, only recycling the advice I got when I was in your situation :-) made you pull out a few hairs too?! lolWhich one did you get? Same as me, T230?B
  12. 1. Go to Control Panel and search for "Touch". 2. Click "Tablet PC Settings" 3. Click "Setup..." to the right of "Configure your pen and touch displays" 4. Choose "Touch Input..." 5. Hit the "Enter" key until you see the instructions appear on your actual touch monitor. Touch the screen and it will say something like "Hit enter to move to the next step". You should now see your touch events (and the mouse) appear on the touch screen when you...well, touch it. Hope this helps!Bjorn
  13. I second your opinion on case flow, no use having stale warm air blowing everso efficiently through the heat sink. I can recomend my case, though not the biggest (see sig.)I got the "Hog" from flightstore.co.uk (I'm in Denmark), but you'd be cheaper off ordering "locally". Can't stress enough how well that hardware goes with the DCS A-10!B
  14. I attached a secondary identical rear case fan to the existing one, like a fan sandwich, that brings it so close to the Scythe heat sink that it's like a push-pull configuration for the cooler, and makes it a little more efficient. Was looking for a second Scythe fan to attach on the other side, but couldn't get hold of one with the right clamps...Bjorn
  15. I can recommend TripleHead2Go digital edition. It uses only one gpu.Bjorn
  16. Until you get that done, you can open new view, choose VC, zoom in on gauge, and shape the window to fit. You can keep it if you save flight, as far as I recall.Bjorn
  17. I think you'd have to get out the big tool box to build AT, and two servos with arms inside the Saitek throttle would be too tight a squeeze, I'm afraid. But if anyone's done it, I too would be very interested to see it.Bjorn
  18. You'd have to create a single monitor profile in Matrox control panel. Perhaps it'll let you program a hot-key for it (one not used in FSX).Bjorn
  19. Cloud res. lower than 1024 is still excellent quality. I'd save the higher res. for screen shots (where stutters don't show ;-) ).B
  20. I most definitely suspect a psu failure from what you're telling. No-name brands are not to be trusted. It may deliver some power, but not enough. If you do get it to life, try OCCT cpu stress test, and particulaly look at the graph for the 5V line.My advice is to get a well reviewed not-too-cheap psu.Bjorn
  21. Sorry to hear, V.Are you using high res. clouds, like REX2 clouds, then reduce res. Are your water settings high, set to mid or low.B
  22. I'll have to try that out, Stephen. Wonder if it works for my 460 @ 5040x1050. Hope to get better AA, 'cause Insp. provides mediocre AA, regardless of settings I have. Thanks for the tip, my friend!Bjorn
  23. Edit autogen trees and buildings, try 2000 each or lower.Bjorn
  24. Check in fsx settings under sound, sometimes it spontaneously changes from the proper sound card selection to some default thing.Bjorn
