Probably light from a lamp or sun light?! There's a view in TIR setup where you can see if there's anything else than three dots being seen by the sensor.Bjorn

RAM Timings
Crewecut replied to Superpilotv2's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etc
You should manually enter the timings specified for your ram. If you overclock your ram You should make sure they are cooled very efficiently. I once clocked some Corsair ram from 1333 to 1600 on Auto voltage, but fitted them with high riser coolers with plenty of circulation. So, for stability and survivability tightening timings and overclocking them is not advisable.Bjorn -
Info is needed

Above 6 gb ram will likely make overclocking very difficult. You dont need more than 6 for fsx at least. Get the Redline in stead if you can, they are faster (6-8-6-24)Bjorn -
I thtink the latencies are too high. Mushkin Redline has 6-8-6-24 and are 1600 mhz. But you may need to check up on restrictions of your board, find out if other people have hit a ram freq. wall. If your ram is running 1T, try 2T for stability. Have you set all the ram values in BIOS manually including voltage?Have you stress tested your system with OCCT? It's a good tool to diagnose system, especially look at the voltage readings. An old or too cheap PSU may ruin your happy flying (once ruined mine).Bjorn

CrucialReal C300 for me, also comes in 64 gigz I believe. They made them very small, you can tuck it anywhere in the case.Mushkin ram are my favourite. They do come a bit faster timingwise, like Redline 6-8-6-24. 1600 Mhz is fine, just make sure you land ón approx. 1600 so not to destabilize, Got mine at 1650-ish as far as I recall. Enter voltage, and timings manually.Bjorn

Perhaps FSUIPC has a feature to use buttons for an axis?!Bjorn

Hi, John. That's exactly what I'm saying :-) You drag 2D panels onto the touch screen. You need Win7, and you enter the settings for tablet pc, other than that it's plug n play. No software otherwise needed, has integrated touch keyboard for typing stuff. But starting up a heavy bird and programming the fmc like that is great fun. And it comes at a reasonable price. Bjorn

Undocking a panel causes FPS to drop by half?
Crewecut replied to NoahBryant's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
Try deleting fsx.cfg and let fsx rebuild it. Bjorn -
If I understand Bojote correctly, you can't avoid the use of core 0. Bjorn

Seems like some light-issue. Got a new cap with reflective items on it? Try the view where you see what the TIR sees, look for any light signature other than the three. Bjorn

From personal experience the 460 seems to do a fair bit better than the 285 (which was a diamond). I would recommend a superclocked or overclockable edition. For multi-monitor use go for the 2 gb edition, or go for it any way, almost same price. You won't get rid of your 15 fps frame drops though. Takes a sandy bridge system, it seems, to get the best performance. In time you may want to add improvements to your system. I'd recommend some ram with lower latencies like mine, 6-8-6-24, i.e. CAS or CL 6 or 7. Then an SSD, prices dropping too. Bjorn
