Got the Warthog hotas recently, mostly for helicopter flying. But all those shiny buttons, and all those positive reviews make me go for the DCS A-10 now.B

Fatal error at start of flight VOXATC
Crewecut replied to pacblue's topic in The VOXATC Support Forum
Is your operating system in English language, and thus speech recognition enabled? Which OS you using anyway?Bjorn -
Hi, no don´t use ASE. There´s a free-bee out there called Prio. Lets you set the cores for your programs, so you don´t have to do it all over again each time you run FSX. FSX will run threads through core #0 no matter what you do.Bjorn

Sounds interesting. Can you provide a link?Regards

Advice in CPU cooler

Got the Scythe myself, it´s ultra quiet :Batting Eyelashes: B -
There is a program out there that minimizes the boarders in windowed mode, forgot what it's called. But you won't get completely rid of boarders around undocked windows. And you're stuck with the resizing. You could save a flight with the windows and views set to your liking, saves you the hassle of setting the views each time. What do you mean in 2. ? Bjorn

Got a 2gb gtx 460 overclocked. Runs four monitors, I'm quite happy with it, not too many artifacts. It's a short board and fits easily in the case, and has a centered fan, so it's not too loud. When it winds up it's a low hum. I would however like some better AA. And I will switch to a higher 500-card probably later this year. Save money on the ram as recommended above. Bjorn

DDR3 Kingston Memory
Crewecut replied to brucek's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etc
Ram may not overclock just like that. Usually you have to increase the latency figures ("losen the timings"). Your ram has a CL of 9, that's a tad on the slow side. So, if you want to go higher than the specified 1600 MHz, you'll have to tamper with timings. Going above the recommended voltage may damage the ram. I used to fit some high riser heatsinks to some 1333 ram, ran auto voltage and got them to 1600 with stock timings, but I think I was lucky ;)Also, set the ram timings and voltage manually in BIOS, don't auto them. Auto voltages tend to be a bit on the high side. Bjorn -

The noctua and my Scythe Mugen II lets you offset the fan, so you can have high riser heat sinks on your ram. B -

I read that it comes without any fans, you have to acquire those as well. Then how expensive or silent will it be? But other than that, it´s supposed to do very well, right up there with Noctua NH-D4, and a tad smaller. There´s a 3dGuru review out there that tells you the whole story.Bjorn
