One vga output, yes. But it's truely wide view. Your rig has to calculate more pixels, hence your performance could drop according to detail level, and zoom level. The TH2G has no processor. It makes the system "believe" that your screen IS very wide, and provides additional view compared to normal sized monitor.B

Guess you're right, Mike.Btw, you should concider cheating on the Dodo with Peter Salzgeber's Lama X. What it may lack in complexity compared w. Dodo it makes up for in versatility and mission possibilities. And it's pure joy to fly, and the sound package is great.B

In the helicopter section there may be some info. If not, perhaps one of you fellow "rotor-heads" could write a little review over there?! It's too quiet in that section. :( Bjorn

OC a Q9650?
Crewecut replied to wb5okj's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etc
What I was trying to say was, make sure your psu is performing alright. When testing with OCCT look at the volt lines, had a bad 5V line once and wasted a lot of tme and effort. The Q9650 has "OC-holes", certain frequencies where it simply won't run well. So, if you're stuck at 3,8 try 4.0. Bjorn -
Had the gtx285 running fine with TH2G, now 460 gtx with good result (5040x1050), including a large touch screen. Get decent frames and smoothness, the occasional artefact 'cause of highly detailled environment. With a 580 you should be home safe. Don't forget to add trackIR.And the wide view inside a big cockpit is just phenomenal. Bjorn

Check advanced animations in fsx settings. And I highly recommend instruments to determine where you're going :Batting Eyelashes:Bjorn

Multi-Monitors
Crewecut replied to N1125Y's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etc
I'd say yes. As far as I recall there's some setting to be checked for that 4th monitor.Bjorn -
Try ultimate defrag, free-ware, defrag and optimize all drives.Good luck!Bjorn

Exactly the reasons to get FSUIPC. Reliability and a LOT of functionality. :( B

A good starting point would be to install FSUIPC and calibrate all axis there, and make individual differences in settings for different types of aircraft. SimSamurai has made a tutorial that's good.Bjorn

Multi-Monitors
Crewecut replied to N1125Y's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etc
Isn't there a custom resolution tooly in nvidia cp, where you can set res. as you like? I think your monitor is not being recognized as plug 'n play, that's why "they" recommend a certain resolution. Must be a driver issue.Bjorn -
580 OC question
Crewecut replied to newtie's topic in Video Hardware: Monitors | Multi-Monitors | Video Cards | Drivers etc
Clock one thing at a time, and find stable settings for each. Bjorn -
They made TIR4 so good, upgrading I think is not worth the trouble. Just use the TIR5 software.Bjorn

If your outline shows up then there's too much light in the room. Or you sit in the dark with very bright monitor? Thats exactly what makes the view like tornado-cam. It should only read the three dots. Any reflective items on clothing will also interfere.B

Info is needed
Crewecut replied to thony79's topic in System Hardware: PC | MOBO | RAM | CPU | HDD | SSD | PSU etc
Mushkin Enhanced forum also have an unofficial compatibility list, should you not find your board in the wizard. I would think the Ridgeback is ok, but will they fit under the cpu cooler?! You should google a review or two for that cooler.B -
Not sure they should, it's IR after all. You mean the clip itself lights up, right? .If the dots don't show in the setup window, then there's some power issue. USB power saving on?But no dots wouldn' t make TIR go all over the place..B
