  1. I don't think FORCING anyone to do anything is a smart move, especially in a hobby as small as this. Leave the choice up to the developers and their customers.

Thanks, I'll give it another go.

  4. Hey Fluxuated, That's unfortunately by design. If you look in the Axis Settings of the Control page, this is where the right stick of your XBox 360 Controller has been bound to move the view. Unfortunately you cannot use the right stick to pan without using an external camera utility like Chaseplane, EZCA or a mapping utility that will redesignate the right stick as another input. What you can do without spending more money, is to map the View (pan) setting in the Button Settings to your D-Pad and use that to pan. It's a little clunky, and you lose the default mappings for Elevator Trim and Flaps, but you will be able to pan. I use the XBox One Controller frequently when I don't want to get all of the joysticks and throttles mounted, and here is what I used to have mine set to before using Chaseplane: Left Trigger - Yaw (default) Left Shoulder - Elevator Trim Down Right Trigger - Yaw (default) Right Shoulder - Elevator Trim Up Left Stick - Elevator/Aileron (default) Left Stick Click - Next View Category (S on the keyboard) D-Pad - Pan View Right Stick - None Right Stick Click - Next View (A on the keyboard) Y - Throttle up (default) B - Throttle down (default) X - Gear (default) A - Brakes (default) I highly recommend getting Chaseplane and setting it up as it is a great tool for changing your camera views and you can set the right stick as pan like deetee does. It's on sale right now: https://orbxdirect.com/product/p42-chaseplane
  5. Hey guys, I contacted the owner of FOXX Mounts and he replied back asking for some pictures of my desk and a couple of questions on Monday. I sent back the requested pictures and information and have yet to hear back to complete the order. Has anyone else had this problem with FOXX? I was hoping to take advantage of the much lower prices than Monstertech for a desk mount for my CH Throttle (I already have a Monstertech mount for my VKB MCG Pro), but alas haven't heard back so I think I may have to warn others not to partake in the business if I don't hear back soon. No sooner had I posted this he finally got back to me, nevermind!
  6. Is nose wheel/tail wheel steering activated? Try pressing Shift+Q and see if you regain control. This is the default key command to unlock the tail wheel.
  7. Purely subjective Chapstick. Distance from instruments, changing the size of the text, needles, etc., directly correlates to how much of an effect FXAA has. One man's garbage (trash) is another man's treasure.
  8. Ever since dynamic lighting was released, I've avoided SSAA because of the massive hit to FPS using SSAA. Like @pracines, I've been using 4xMSAA with FXAA with very little impact to FPS. There is a slight blur added to the picture, inherent with using FXAA, but it's very slight and not as noticeable unless you are zoomed way out on a panel trying to read very small text.
  9. This right here is the best advice for those with concerns about framerate. 🙂
  10. This would make me a happy camper. A jet from A2A could be fantastic!
  11. This. I cannot recommend Brave enough. It has the compatibility because being based on Chromium, but has the privacy and protections of Firefox plus more.
  12. Aye, it all seems like a crapshoot one version to the next.
  13. Wanted to give you another +1 Howard. I was skeptical, but disabling hyperthreading definitely helped with the "smoothness" of frames in v4.4. I no longer have the "hurry-up and catch-up" frame delay that seemed to happen in v4 before.
  14. I think Jan gets it right with this list, however I would add the following to each: Missing in XP: Large Quality Payware Market (not required, but definitely nice to have) Quality ATC simulation Quality Air Traffic addons Missing in P3D: Large Quality Freeware Market (outside of liveries) (not required, but definitely nice to have) Easy to use and modernized UI Performance without tweaks (or just disable all shadows and go back to FSX... 😎) Disclaimer: I do not like XP and prefer P3D over it anyday of the week for a ton of my own reasons, but while testing Orbx TrueEarth GB in XP I couldn't help but long for P3D to look and feel as good as XP did... 😉
  15. I wish A2A would follow this advice... 😪
  16. I'm unfamiliar with X-Plane, more of an FSX/ESP/P3D guy myself. Here's what I would do: Have both joysticks plugged in when you start XP. Go to the settings for the Logitech joystick and check what command is being sent by the trigger button Go to the Gladiator and apply that command to the trigger button. I think that would solve your problem?
  17. I think you are confusing what the manual is describing. It's saying if you have the VKB pedals (which do not have a separate toe brake axis), you can use the joystick button as a way to mimic toe brake pedals. As with ALL joysticks/yokes/etc. that don't have an automatic profile built into your simulator, you have to manually assign the commands to the joystick/yoke/etc. button.
  18. I thought you needed to calibrate the axes? I guess you just need to reassign the buttons... you can easily do this in each simulator.
  19. Just follow the directions for the axis calibration, you can assign the joystick buttons through your simulator. Don't try assigning buttons in WIZZO, it gets really complicated (I think you may need a programmer's certificate to figure it out! 😀). EDIT: From the manual: To calibrate joystick axes do the following actions. 1. Push Start button. NOTE: You will see flashing CALIBRATING indicator. 2. Move all axes to their extreme positions. Roll, Pitch, Yaw and Throttle (move the joystick around in circles through it's entire range, rotate the throttle back and forth through it's entire range) 3. Push Stop button to finish calibration.
  20. Hey trisho0, Please do NOT use the Windows calibration to calibrate your Gladiator. I use a Gladiator MKII Pro with the MCG Pro grip, so I'm coming from experience. You must use the utility provided by VKB to calibrate your joystick. The product page includes all the documentation and software required, available here: https://vkbcontrollers.com/?product=vkb-sim-gladiator If you are using the KG grip, you will need to download the WIZZO documentation and follow the directions for axis calibrations. You will need the WIZZO utility in order to do it. Don't worry, it's really easy to complete, and once it's done it's done forever unless you wipe the configuration from your Gladiator's onboard memory (which should never happen unless you are upgrading the firmware for a new grip such as the MCG).
  21. I started on my grandpa's lap with FS2, lining up wireframe runways, and then was left to my own devices with Chuck Yeager's Flight Trainer when we brought home our Apple IIGS. I honestly wasn't blown away until I was leaving the runway at Meigs in FS95, being wowed by all of the textured buildings in Chicago. It was with FS95 that I stopped playing with the instruments and started looking past the panel...
  22. If you had installed the NVIDIA driver via the NVIDIA installer it will show up in Add/Remove Programs. If you are concerned that you want a newer driver, you can download and install the newest set of drivers and they will show up there. If you are concerned that you will not get rid of all the old drivers when installing with the NVIDIA driver, then you can use the excellent cleaner tool maintained by Guru3D here: http://www.guru3d.com/content-page/guru3d-driver-sweeper.html
  23. Thanks for the heads up, this is such a great tool.
  24. I ended up going back to AS+ASCA+ENVTEX+ENVSHADE myself... And all I ever used to use was REX... My how things change.
