Taxi2Gate OTHH SODE
vadriver replied to RFarmah's topic in FSX | FSX-SE Scenery Design Forum - How To
Rajan probably not the answer you like ...... but i recall sode light tower models are "user" contributions at fsdeveloper. but given your success with jetways, maybe the only solotion if the "lost" are embedded in the bgl. i'm slowly placing sode jetways at T2G's VHHH but haven't checked at nite ๐ -
Pilot Controlled Lighting

william have you looked at the SODE & AFLT forums at fsdeveloper. -
Team An update you might say on this topic ....... more so given some weird & wonderful arrival / approach "discrepancies" on recent flights (3-4hr flights between for example VHHH & RJBB) using historical ASP4 weather. Essentially specific runway STAR assignment at over 100nm from the destination I have concluded was based on departure winds and subsequently at about 30nm, approach clearance was the opposite runway (& thus not anyway connected to the arrival flown)..... Vox ATIS at that time was appropriate & matched both the sim's and ASP4 metar. The Vox ATIS at TOD (theoretically it should not be heard) was describing updated departure weather as best i could judge. So fundamentally, this is as I posted above a few months ago. Where it is more exacerbating is when (as is often the case at a lot of Asian airports is that small fluctuations in afternoon north-westerlies on NE/SW runways can alter the assignment... mostly as a wind swing of 20o with little change in runway wind changes the assigned AI / runway use according to the sim's "scoring" of such. I agree with your note Jay. I would though add that TJ has been quoted elsewhere as advising that Vox only reads the destination weather at 30nm well after STAR assignment ...... though with ASP4 it can only be read a tad earlier anyway. So i forge on trying as best I can to be prepared for what may happen ..... unfortunately such options as ASP4's "prevent downloads on approach" are limited to that 60nm also. At best, I can only hope TJ would "recognise" (despite a few glitches with V742's ATC part) the opportunity given the current capabilities of Vox's AI control, he might be able to tweak it to for example "stop" Vox changing runways (ie different to the STAR's runway) if the runway wind is still < a 10kt tailwind. Even more so, if he could tweak Vox to read a "30 minute ahead" metar (as would be possible with ASP4's historical mode) rather than the injected at TOD, that would be almost the ideal ..... I would still be asking for a tweak to only use certain runways for certain times of the day (if tailwind is <10kt). Yours in hope ๐

PMDG777 Callouts / Use Data
vadriver posted a topic in The Multi-Crew Experience (MCE) Support Forum
Gerald using with P3Dv45 / MCEv2792 / mcpmd77Xv1081 on W764. I have callouts for V1,R,2 but the data being used is not "auto" updated from the FMC (as it does in the NGX) ...... and also no data update for flaps, flex temp or runway. Your advise is appreciated. -
Airport runways settings MFS2020
vadriver replied to aleex's topic in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)
Indeed ....... I have often thought a SODE type "conditional variable" (as SODE can switch runway lighting for different visibility & wind direction in sim) is the way forward. A runway (each end) has / would have such properties as length, pavement capacity & approach navaids defined that can be on / off in different winds (tailwind to "x" knots),time of day (noise abatment) visibility etc. that a developer / user could set to reflect real world flows ...... eg KLAX using opposing takeoff / arrivals in the early am & west op downwinds most of the time. -
FPStewy's comments regarding VOXATC.
vadriver replied to jabloomf1230's topic in The VOXATC Support Forum
and with vox, you have a brilliant AI engine included ..... it is the only one i know that respects the limits / needs of your afcad tweaks. maybe TJ needs to market it as such ๐ ... and offer ATC as an expansion pack for a small fee (say a dollar) -
FPStewy's comments regarding VOXATC.

as does ProATC. -
vox is intiated (if you have it installed in your specific aircraft ) as a gauge panel ... so in the drop downs, look for vox & "enable". 'tis not an autoload.

Rudder pedals or not? Share your experience
vadriver replied to Lazer_cz's topic in The Prepar3d Forum
i see you have invested in pedals ..... so now you can set your "twist' axis to the tiller and / or buy another joystick as a tiller only control ๐ that way, you will enjoy your airbus / cat c & d & e & f aircaft more. besides, how did you steer your airbus in taxi with a rudder (pedal steer) limited to 7o deflection (or isn't the aersoft that particular). -
not very ..... as best i know it, airacs (FMS data) & charts are available for the mentioned from both .... though aerosoft charts are not directly android compatible (thus i use navigraph for both in all manner of planes / pfpx / topcat / activesky etc).
-
Cristoph yes unfortunately, it is more complex with few doing it. i am surprised a tad that as yet an enterprising developer has not compiled such lighting to add & compliment various airports such as RKSI, perhaps using AFLT's modelling or their own (if only i had the skills). when you have some core models, it is just mathematics to build another Sode.xml, just as users earlier have done for jetways at FBS's KDEN.
-
I think your many are few ...... perhaps as above to add extra gates but I doubt even fewer would replace Pacsim's custom SODE jetways. Are you seeing a "stutter" with the later.
-
this confuses me .... 2 joysticks (one for a tiller) makes sense & yes there are issues with 2 "identical" joysticks.
-
Christoph not maybe, definitely. an airport that is regularly affected by fogs / heavy rain / snow with an ILS / LPV etc. must have daytime low visibility approach / runway / taxiway lighting which as best I know it can only be SODE activated. I avoid KSLC if the TAF is lousy & PBS's KDEN likewise in winter because of the snow (it has daytime low visibility lighting but not SODE hence not activated in snow / rain). & yes agree with your updates (and your dislike of GSX jetways .... AI docking, too generic)
-
I'd be keen to hear if daytime low visibility lighting is a feature (preferably by SODE activation).

How to add ATC and air traffic to an airport?
vadriver replied to Gkmx's topic in MS FSX | FSX-SE Forum
First Question ...... What AI are you using for LTBA (different procedures for different addons) -
& yes, i suspect it may apply to other "fastidious" addons that have user panel state options either directly or just "with" saved scenarios.
