  1. I would imagine it works with a whole bunch of things. There is the HUD, the steam gauges reflecting clouds off their surface, and the front windshield (likely among others). It lets them work realistically.Speaking of that, does anyone know why or what purpose making the front shield an "object" was for? You can see this when you have been in outside view for a while and go back to VC and the textures/objects have to reload, and the front shield blacks out as well but the side windows don't.
  2. Put the VHHX text file into your "FSXPMDGsidstars" folder, and replace it.As for the two lines of text, they go into your "FSXPMDGNavdatawpNavAPT" file. They need to replace your original VHHX. Do a search (Ctrl+F) for VHHX and it will take you right to where you need to be. Replace those two lines with the new ones up top, and then use spaces, to line the data up to with everything else.
  3. Check your FSX settings. You might have the "Unlimited Fuel" option selected, which might allow that.
  4. The simple answer (if you just wanted to keep flying LNAV without any actual vectors or anything) would be to select the fix below the discontinuity, and then replace the discontinuity with the fix. So if the the disco is at 2L, then take the fix at 3L and place it on top of 2L.
  5. Also make sure that your FSX directory has administrator privileges. Go to your FSX folder directory (usually at C:Program FilesMicrosoft games) and right click on the FSX folder. Go to properties, then the security tab. Click Edit, and grant yourself, and the system "Full control".This will save any keyboard assignment changes that you make. They do not actually save without this being done.
  6. This is my old VHHX file from Planepath. You will also need to add the two lines below to your wpNavAPT.txt file.HONG KONG KAI TAK VHHX31 10930316 22.305500 114.214500109.9531600015HONG KONG KAI TAK VHHX13 10930136 22.321667 114.196667110.9508800015
  7. No, no, forget what I said. Navigraph is up and running just as it has been. I'm thinking Planepath. So, ignore my last post.
  8. Navigraph has been out of commission since last summer. I'll upload my old VHHX sometime during the week if someone else doesn't beat me to it.
  9. Hey Geoffrey. I don't know how the FMC deals with the input you type in. Just a suggestion though, press the "Insert" key if it happens again. See if that works.
  10. Okay, I didn't do my homework. I chose the quick and easy path (as Vader did), and based my assumption off of FAA charts. My bad. :)
  11. I can see an EFB being totally possible with user entered charts, just not by PMDG. Since each published ground chart has a coordinate grid on it, a program could look for identifying marks and virtually match it to your FSX position. I'm not saying it would be easy, but possible, the data is there. The hard part would be terminal charts, those have no marks other than coordinates on fixes, and they are not always to scale. Then there are RNAV approaches, with no reference.
  12. Before some giant forum battle breaks forth, his name (Moe Works) is in his Dantrix.net image. Can we leave it at that please?
  13. @PMDG: It's your update, release it when you want to. :(
  14. Please sign your name to your post, it's a forum rule. You can either load the plan then add SID/STARs manually, or you can hand-build it.
  15. I though that at first as well, but he's looking for rings around the airplane, not a fix.
  16. That would be caused by the approach that is programmed in has been done incorrectly. Go into your FSX/PMDG/SIDSTAR file and find the airport (LEVT) and open it up. Find the section at the bottom that has all of the approaches, and find the PPN1DB arrival. Find the portion of that line where "FIX VNTB" appears and cut everything from the beginning of that FIX to just before the next FIX entry. Then paste it back in further down the line after where it says "FIX FI04 AT 4200". Make sure that the spaces are all in place so it will not cause an error, and save. When you are done it should look something like this:"FIX CI04 AT 4200 FIX FI04 AT 4200 FIX VNTB RNW 04"You should be good to go.
  17. If it isn't the official name, Range Rings are the commonly accepted name. What you might have been looking at are the rings for the TCAS. Go down to the central pedastol and make sure that your transponder is set to TA/RA, then on the control panel for the ND (to the left of the autopilot controls) press the TFC button.
  18. I think running as admin is what fixed it for me.
  19. No one yet, alright. Flightaware.com has a route finder for all real world routes in the US, including their frequency of use. http://flightaware.com/statistics/ifr-route/

Like William said, you only pay for it if you live in Europe. Seeing as you are USA, there is no VAT tax for you. However according to Wikipedia, you would do better with a list of countries without a VAT of some sort, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Value_added_tax#Tax_rates
  21. You are too low. The diamond that appears is the glideslope, you want that to be centered by "following" it.
  22. From My Settings/Signature, there is a box at the bottom of the page. Put your name in there and press save changes.*If all that is done, make sure you have the "Enable Signature?" button selected in the more reply options (Full editor). That button is on the right of the text box.
  23. I'll do the first one for you as an example. Add anything in each respective category to the list within your KSFO file.FIXESFIX OAK16 COLOCATED OAK 151 16.1FIX OAK14 COLOCATED OAK 151 14ENDFIXESAPPROACHESAPPROACH TIPTOVIS FIX OAK16 AT OR ABOVE 5000 FIX OAK14 HDG 310 UNTIL RADIAL 282 TO FIX SFO HDG 281 UNTIL 06 FROM FIX SFO RNW 28L HDG 265 UNTIL 3000 KEEP HDGENDAPPROACHESThat should work, let me know if it doesn't.
  24. I don't see why not. As long as you can do everything you can do with a mouse, it should be okay. (Right-clicks would be difficult, but I assume you guys have that figured out.)
