  1. The Yaw Dampers, left and right, are located in the upper right corner of the overhead panel. Check to see it their switch is on of off.
  2. If you have access to the new/old AIRAC files it is supposed to be installing, I would say you should just copy and paste them in manually. Make a backup and put the files in the NavData and SidStar file on your PMDG databases. C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\PMDG
  3. VHHX is currently closed, over the new airport VHHH. Because of this, Navigraph discontinued the VHHX airport within their updates. Unless you already have your own VHHX that you use, or are getting it from somewhere like Planepath you should not have one at all. I would recommend PlanePath as it includes VHHX. Due to some financial problems he is stuck at cycle 1013, but no big deal.
  4. I was kidding. I was making fun of how in the simulator we go wherever we want.
  5. Certification? What is this certification you speak of?
  6. Good ol' hand calculation. The NGX has not been out long enough for anyone to make a calculator optimized specifically for it. TOPCAT has 737 data within it, so give that a look for now.
  7. I can assure you it is not your fault. Just a few days ago PMDG had released a new product. There were complications with the website, someone was spamming PMDG with over a million hits per second, bogging everything down. Only now have they brought it down to manageable levels, so everyone who needs support (or is sending error reports) is sending messages through there. If you can, try to get your ticket in (although expect to be in a line for support), or wait a few days for things to calm down. Sorry about this.
  8. Hold on, what exactly is your problem? Are you not seeing VHHX at all, or is it only not in your PMDG database?
  9. Well I wouldn't say that. According to my calculations your optimum alt is FL370. Somethings screwy but if you say you entered a different altitude your legs page should have updated. Did you try EXECuting your route to see if that changes anything?
  10. As in Post #6 by Mark, there is no known solution. The problem is caused by loading the same engine type of 747 into Flight Simulator more than once. If you use different engine types there should be no problem but to use the same engines you will need to restart FSX.
  11. I ran a Google search on that, http://www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1CHNP_enUS418US418&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&q=IBTLFSDATDGWAYIMA. Congrats, you are unique!
  12. Technically, the NDA that they may or may not be under would prevent them from saying nothing or anything at all about the NDA that does or does not exist.
  13. Could we have your entire manifest. ZFW, TOW, Estimated fuel consumption, and the value that you put into the FMC for contingency.
  14. The Earth in fact has two north poles. There is True North, which is what latitude and longitude are based on, or the grid pattern you see on a globe. The Earth rotates around this point too. But there is also a magnetic north (and south) pole, created by the swirling iron inside the Earth being slightly different than the axis of rotation. Magnetic north is about 500 miles off of true north. Magnetic north is what compasses operate off of. http://www.gcmap.com/mapui?P=82.7%b0N+114.4%b0W+-+90N+0W
  15. There is a showing of the animation in one of the videos already. Check the first AOA external video, then the very end of the hour-long one. It is either one of those.
  16. You do have to use the CP. It will not change your textures automatically for you, but it is a simple process once you have set it up. Also remove water textures from your queue, that will take some half hour to re-load every texture change if you leave it on.
  17. I think it would be possible for him to run the installer on his laptop without FSX. Sure it will ask him/you if this is the correct folder since it does not exist and such, but as long as it does not actively check for a full FSX installation you should do okay.
  18. Your Vref speed is already calculated using the predicted fuel that you will have while landing. All that you need to do is go into the Vref selector page and copy either the flap 25 or 30 speed into the line below.
  19. I think he just wants a used copy from a seller over in Europe so he doesn't have to pay US-Europe shipping.
  20. I'm sorry but I am terribly confused here. Where are you getting 1.8 million pounds from? Are you multiplying your fuel load by 6.7 again? You should not need to do this. I am also puzzled by how you manage to over-fuel the aircraft to that much, and still receive an insufficient fuel warning. Which fuel calculator are you using and what are your steps? If I can help you may not have to change calculators.
  21. I took another look at the weight loading and compared to the manuals and it would appear we may both be right. According to the manual, the tipping point for alt fuel is less than 540,000 lbs and over 541,000 to fall into the next category. The alternate landing weight is in fact 540.4, which is in the gray area here. Some odds eh?
  22. TOPCAT is one of the premium flight planners on the market. I would personally trust that more than the others. Point in case being I tested out my sheet with the specs you gave me (some were vague, used 45 min holding, alternate fuel is incorrect. The distance I got using GCM was 840 nm direct, is it really 960 while on route?)The sheet runs as follows,Payload - 127.4KSFO-KDENAlt - KPUBHolding - 45 minPLW - 561.1Wind - -23 ktsAir miles - 834 nmFL 370Fuel to load was 76.2, much closer to TOPCAT than the others. Try it yourself, spreadsheet in signature.
  23. Possibly, he might have done it just to get it out of the way for later.. When the next load of passengers board, the signs will be need to be on.
  24. Down where it says "Download Now" on the bottom-right, click that. It is not the RapidPro file like it seems it is, its the excel file. Its deceiving, but that is the business of free file hosting.
  25. The logic behind it is because on a scale from -6 to ~20, 0 falls much closer to -6. They are trying to keep the same scale, as well as make the change noticeable. If the change was 1:1, you would barely notice it so they have to exaggerate the AOA meter. The exaggerated change means that if 0 degrees were level, 20 would have to read around 80 on the dial, completely unrealistic. So what they did was rotate the dial a little so the AOAs that you would be looking at the meter for appear more realistic.
