  1. i once did KJFK to EGsomething (it was some event and it was not to london). It was so extremely boring, that i fell asleep at about half the distance. I took quite some fuel with me because i only had like 20 minutes to prepare (it was a boring evening and i didnt know what to do so i took a look at the event page and here we go). The next morning, about 4 hours after the event was over, i woke up and checked the ND, i was somewhere over greenland doing circles. Dont remember the details, it was a long time ago.
  2. i wonder what is going on in peoples head nowadays .
  3. this feature should have been in the first release and i didnt check the news in the forum very often so i missed the point when rzr said, that it wont be implemented in the release version :( it was the number one reason i bought this product.
  4. well well, i quote myself here so you can just ignore that comment. saw the last line in your starting post.
  5. well then, why do you bring this as an argument?
  6. Pictures taken with your iPhone do not reflect the real color values.
  7. thank you Ryan, for being the woman in the relationship
  8. fpuagolf: you should check out the charts of your destination airport. this should help you and if you read the correct pages, you will know why it suddenly stops and doesnt continue
  9. If you have a problem with RAAS not identifying a runway or something else, please add the following information to your post: 1. simulator version (FS9/FSX) 2. service pack/patch (for FS9, it would be FS9.1 for example and for FSX it would be service pack 1 or service pack 2) 3. the airport you have problems with 4. the runways you have problems with (and if possible, the taxiway you are using to enter the runway -> of course only if its a problem with aural alerts on ground) 5. for the specific airport, please post all the airport relevant content of your r4.csv which you can find in your FSX root directory. To open the file, you need software like Microsoft Excel or OpenOffice (Calc) 6. other addons that are active at the moment you are flying This helps us to address your ticket as fast as possible. Thanks a lot !
  10. I think for half a year. I was working on this RAAS since 2010 but due to my limited knowledge in C and/or other languages, i couldnt finish it alone (thats were FS2Crew jumped in). There are several things that are quite advanced. We do not use computer generated callouts but have our own professional made sounds with more soundpacks following (the voice of the real RAAS cannot be used due to copyrights). We soon have Aerosoft Navdata support (i am working on it) and we use the exact same values from the real RAAS. There are other things coming as well but more info later on.
  11. As i dont have the orbx scenery, i have to try it with the default tomorrow morning. will report here once i have something
  12. There are airlines that do have their 737 series equipped with RAAS. However, its nothing that you normally get when you buy the aircraft but instead, something you buy afterwards from Honeywell. (That might have changed by the time and you might get it as regular upgrade when ordering an aircraft). Alaska Airlines put the RAAS on all of their 737´s.
  13. can you tell me from what runways you tried to depart (for every airport you tried where it made this callout) ? i have a clue about what could cause the problem but i am not sure
  14. Its required once after installation as it will create a file with all your airports and runways. However, if you install a new airport addon, it is recommended to run it again (as there might be new/different runways available then). I am working on another GUI where you can even combine it with the Aerosoft Navdata but more about that later on.
  15. i wont fly this 777 by the book. I prefer learning by doing for this aircraft and the thing i am really looking forward to is the first time something unexpected happens.
  16. you mean SimConnect_WeatherRequestInterpolatedObservation?
  17. In the past, i had 5 different internet provider with different speeds. 1. Dual ISDN (128kbit/s) 2. 2/2 sync 3. 5/2 async 4. 10/5 async 5. 100/6 async I think its more about the upload. In lot of countries, you have sync on almost every bandwidth but in the country i live in, async is the thing you will get. Therefor, a 10/5 should be good for you. I just had bad experience with everything slower than that. I am sure, a slower connection could work too, but to be on the save side, 10/5 should be the one you are looking for. I dont know what speeds are normal for every country but in Germany, you normally have at least 16mbit download and about 2-5 for upload
  18. wow, i wonder how you can do that with an intel HD3000.. i have a geforce gtx 675m, intel i7 with 3 to 4 GHZ, 7200rpm harddrive and i get the same amount of fps at eddf (dont know about lax but i dont think that i will get that much more fps). can you post your settings? even though you have a rather weak laptop, it would be interesting to know. i use all the tweaks recommended
  19. Well, i have some experience as i tried everything with lot of planes. The problem is, with the build in FSX function, you wont have a lot of fun because it wont transmit every key input, every button you push and so on. Thats why this is only good for the default stuff. Then, there is gates.to ... This can do a bit more but its basically not better for complex aircraft. By now, there are only 2 (3?) complex aircraft, that are capable of doing this. 1. Leonardo Maddog 2. Flight 1 Fokker 100 (was it flight 1?) maybe a 3rd but i dont remember which one it was. There will be (maybe) an update for the 737NGX, that will contain this capability. RZR said it in some interview or in one of his update threads here in the forum. However, it is also always a matter of network speed. If you do it via internet, you probably need more than 10MBIT on both sides, otherwise you will have lags and things that are not transmitted over the network. I personally have a 100mbit internet connection but if the counterpart has 768kbit/s, it wont be funny. Waiting for the NGX update now, would be very nice as this is an awesome aircraft.
  20. may i ask at what altitude you want to start your APU?
  21. I dont think thats quite right. While the overall cockpit layout might be the same, there are going to be new features as well (maybe only minor things but there will be). Anyway, the aircraft is not flying yet and PMDG has no data available, so there wont be the 737 MAX until its out. It wont just be a visual model. There are much things that are different from the 737NG. Even if you compare the PMDG 737-800 with the 737-700, there are differences (except from the model)
  22. It would be nice to select a failure not only by time but maybe also by altitude (f.e. reaching FL330 and an engine will fail). Creating an external software to control all the failures (via another computer in the same network) would be nice as well. /edit: maybe also V/S so you can select for example 4000 feet and a negative V/S (descending) to trigger something that should happen during approach
