I've had similar FPS issues also, but haven't nailed it down to the GTN-- what aircraft are you using?-- does it affect others too?

Using David Clark headset on computer... is this possible
dodougla replied to Malcolm Wright's topic in Networks | WIFI | Routers | Ethernet | DSL | Cable ModemsRight, make sure you use an adapter of some kind that is designed to do this (such as the flightsounds or the sporty's)-- if you try to plug directly into your sound card, the impedance levels are very different and something very well could break.

dodougla replied to Malcolm Wright's topic in Networks | WIFI | Routers | Ethernet | DSL | Cable Modemshttp://www.flightsounds.com/flightsoundx --> for the adapter-- there are certainly others out there. It shows up as it's own audio device. Really, that's all you need, and you can plug your aviation headset right into it. But I also put my portable intercom in line for two reasons: 1. I like the sidetone (hearing yourself talk)-- it really improves your communications and 2. Other headsets can be plugged in and share the intercom if I choose to.

"Microsoft didn't make it as '..real as it gets..' No, these did--->"
Nah, with exception of the DX10 fixer and the shader stuff (only because it is essentially built in), all the rest makes P3D awesome too! B)

Using David Clark headset on computer... is this possible
dodougla replied to Malcolm Wright's topic in Networks | WIFI | Routers | Ethernet | DSL | Cable ModemsI have a USB headset adapter with my real world headdset. The USB adapter is the way to go so you can isolate your comms (in and output) to the headset and leave everything else in your speakers. I can also plug my portable intercom into it and others can listen in to-- this also provides useful sidetone. Use with Vatsim with no problem.

Replacement Throttles - CH Products, Saitek or Other?
Detent is near the bottom, maybe 1/8 inch or so travel from bottom to detent. Total Travel is approx 60 degress and about 4 inches. Center of travel is at vertical. Six controls shaped like flap levers on the bottom, different botton assinment for each up and down. The are easy to hit with your hand, so be careful. It will wear out like anything else-- mine is 4-5 years old and the friction is starting to vary a lot between levers, but the signal still seems intact. I like using separate levers for T/R axis', but that is just my preference. The detents are useful for ground/flight idle ranges for Turboprops. The reverse levers' detent is idle reverse with below being stowed, and above being increased reverse thrust. It has interchangeable tops and I use fro Turboprops, pistons, and jets. Big difference (well, depending on how you mount the Saitek) is that it can only sit on top of the desk, with the clamps wrapping around the front edge of your desk. Depending on your layout, that can effect ergonomics. It is useful that it only shows up as one device and only uses 1 USB port as well-- makes making assignments easier. You probably won't go wrong with either! Don

MilViz C310R
Agree with pilottj, Cut an engine at takeoff and see how you fare! The real 310 is quite the beast in that situation as well. Unless you've got a few hundred feet under you,are clean, and are getting well past that blue line, the best thing to do is close the throttles and land/crash straight ahead. Below that, if you're thinking of taking that dead engine flying, it will be a short flight. Rudder pedals are a must, once you give that last few inches of power, it really tries to go off the side, unless you're on your toes! Don

VATSIM a place people decide by ''evidence''
I would assume they have suspended the Blanco account as well-- perhaps he will contact Vatsim to resolve also? Unfortunate guilty until proven innocent mentality. What data are they collecting to identify a particular PC aside from IP? To the OP, I wish no offense, and I know in frustration some things go out the window, however, correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation will take you a long way when in this kind of situation. It's all you have to present yourself and your character with in this kind of environment--Look, they hold all the cards and you hold none. Calm down and take a deep breath, contact them again and rehash the facts, and find out what needs to be done to correct it. All said, if you don't pursue this further, and utilize another service, I would not blame you! Good luck, Don

Reverse thrust
FSUIPC will let you assign a whole axis(s) to Reverse Thrust. I have a 6 axis CH TQ My Left 2 are power levers and run from idle to full throttle. My far Right 2 are reverse levers and though they work a little backwards, I really like it, and in practice it actually makes it far more realistic\ : Full Aft Is reverse off, Push up to the detent, and you get idle Reverse, and you can advance the reverse from there. This lets me deploy idle reverse by tactile feedback only, reverse thrust as needed, then ease off the reverse back to idle at 80 knots and stow the reversers at 60 again, just by feel. For Trijets, I set it up 3 and 3 For Quads, I have 4 throttles and then a reverser for Inboards and Outboards. Give it a shot. You'll like it. Don

P3D V2 autopilot/glideslope problem ?
Using 2.1 since release-- Dozens of G/S intercepts using the autopilot: I have noticed that often if you are in an A/P V/S descent, at G/S capture (from below), it won't always capture the G/S and continues the V/S rate previously set. Mine is a "default A/P" installed in a 3rd party aircraft, so I haven't waved any flags with P3D since I could never be sure if the aircraft had some other code in there-- but if others are having excursions, it might be worth a mention in their support forum.

Milviz compatibility with V2.1 vs V2.0
Some penance in admitting difficulty in diplomacy--it can be a difficult task, especially with changing demands and moving targets of new software releases. As with most businesses everyone has to do more with less. Then take the fact the Customer Service and Software Development don't use the same skill set, and add a fairly impersonal forum environment, and these types on interactions are bound to happen. Milviz keeps my business. They make an excellent product and, overall, I feel like they support them well. (I've seen far worse support out there). Hopefully a lesson was learned by all: Milviz probably alienated a few customers, and a few customers learned about the business side of things. Everyone learned that customer service is important to a product's success and a little flexibility on everyone's part goes a long way. Onward and upward, and may cooler heads prevail. Don

Eaglesoftdg just announced the Citation XLS+ is their newest project
Greetings Ron, I just want to make sure: are you aiming to have these new offerings compatible with P3Dv2? The CX 2.0 is not, and I am hoping the situation regarding that has improved. Thanks for your contributions, very good looking stuff! Don

Some Free e-Books on Flight Simulation
Some classic references there-- bringing back warm memories of FS4 on an old Mac. I bought all the addon scenery areas...came in the mail on floppies. Ran the whole thing off a 100MB Zip disk. Don
