  1. Nope, Sorry Todd tried everything you said. Was good for a few flights, then boom! 14 minute freeze 1 hour and 10 minutes into flight from KSAN to KIAD.
  2. Good news for the New Year! Thank you Robert and team.

Enough already! New to PMDG? Patience is required here.
  4. You learn something new every day. Thank you!

I happily fly PMDG 737NGX and 777 on my Win 7. Bought and Installed 737NGX on second computer last year with WIN 8 and never ever got it to run right. Graphics were major issue as were freezes and CTDs. Gave up I am sticking with the Win 7 system. But I knew in advance at least that the risk was mine.
  6. I am one of the lucky ones. Zero problems purchasing, installing or activating. It is very different from 737NGX as advertised. Christmas has come early in my house. I expect months of learning this baby and will enjoy every day.
  7. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!
  8. I have had mine for quite awhile and they did a fantastic job again. Now beyond ready to fly it!
  9. Different company options. There are a few other variations also depending on the equipment.
  10. Do you have fuel? Also, if you have fuel did you try to start the APU before there was fuel? Running the APU dry will often result in a damaged APU. Check for maintaince issues.
  11. Checklists, checklists and checklists. A must!

Good rants by everyone today. Are we all getting a little "antsy"? YES!! I am ready.
  13. I think you have too much time on your hands. lol.
  14. There has been a lot of press recently from Boeing on 737-900ER Sales. I hope PMDG is getting close to releasing this model because I already have a list of routes to fly with this baby. http://boeingblogs.com/randy/archives/2011/11/the_sweet_spot_1.html
  15. Good luck with this. If you do research you will find this has been a huge problem for many. Had the same issue and tried every suggestion there was. I actually reformated my hard drive at one point and slowly added everything back and after a good week or two "BLAM" does it again. It did not matter if I was overclocked or not, running addons or not , anti-virus, no FSUPIC, registered , not registered, default sound card, Sound Blaster cards, etc, etc. I gave up the hobby (after investing thousands of $) for about 4 months I was so frustrated. Decided to look at everything again and my latest fix was to use NVIDIA control panel to limit my FPS to 30fps and set NGX to unlimited. No issues the past few months but I am not dumb enough to believe this was totally the issue. I am always waiting for it to return on a long flight but knock on wood for now. I am sure it has something to do with FSX and Win7 but have heard rare similar stories from those using Vista. I don't believe anyone really knows why. Sorry for the Rant. But I do feel your pain and wish you luck.
  16. From personal experience I can tell you it affects CG, fuel calculations, V speeds etc. Some are subtle changes but definite issues started appearing. I played around doing it for awhile and have decided to just wait for PMDG to release the ER's.
  17. The P-8 and Wedgetail models I would fly for sure. For us military types these are as exciting as the commercial variants.
  18. It almost sounds like you have some sort of file corruption issue that actually may be with FSX itself. This would be especially true if you did not change anything prior to it starting.
  19. Jim, Thank you. I will go through your suggestions carefully. I appreciate you taking the time. Ken
  20. Same issues since last FSX Sp1c. Happens now even with default aircraft and no FSX. Very frustrating freeze 45 minutes to 1 hour in to most flights. Checked memory, turned off overclock, reduced sliders dramatically and decreased FPSs. Turned off all addons, upgraded drivers, turned off sound and bought new sound card, Dropping the UIAutomationCore.dll has made no difference whatsoever. I have tried every thing except wiping my FSX completely and starting over. Don't want to do that but everything else has failed. Othewise I may just stop flying. I keep reading about different users "sudden ephipanys" in which "oh I figured it out!!" but what ever fix and I have tried them all now do not work. Freeze freeze freeze as noted above. Sound continues and if you leave it for 15 minutes or so it starts again like nothing happened until another hour or two and it does it again. Has to be something with FSX but what??
  21. This is normal. Refer to Supplemental normal procedures (FCOM Vol 1) sp3.5. The lights as part of the test will remain on for approximately 1 minute.
  22. Yes, not much of a game changer for me either.
  23. You are right! I Never noticed that. Hard to believe they missed something like that.. unless that is the way it is in real world.
  24. Bought it mostly to just fly the Alaska 700s. 600 has turned out to be such a blast to fly it is my new "just have fun" model. What a cool plane to fly!
