  1. That's pretty damn impressive! World2xplane and simheaven seem to be a great combo.
  2. Would love to see Aerosoft pick this up and run with it. They ditched their own simulator when Microsoft announced Flight, so they had previous interest. They have good knowledge of working closely with a large number of different developer teams to bring Aerosoft's own, and other branded products to market. They've also got the infrastructure established for their own storefront they could use for distribution. They also have a great userbase they could market to, while still supporting the X-Plane and FSX/P3D users. Come on Aerosoft and make it happen!
  3. LM would love to be able to move P3d to 64 bit, but the work involved in adapting the amount of legacy code that came across to them from their licensing of Microsoft ESP (the commercial version of FSX, and hence the current licensing rights for the much debated non-consumer usage licensing) is on a massive scale with some of the existing code dating back to the very early versions of MSFS. I don't have a doubt they'll gradually get a version developed though, replacing fundamental core components with their own coding. Recompiling the final product to 64 bit will break compatibility with addons that have 32 bit executables through sim connect. Good news is LM is already supporting the development of sim connect such that when they do make the move they'll be able to support the developers. It should only be a small piece of work to recompile those executables to then allow them to continue working. Most sceneries therefore should be fine, but the gauges, dynamic sceneries (like Orbx flows) will have issues. I fly X-Plane 10, FSX, FS9 and prepar3d myself. I think supporting those platforms that are still developing gives me more confidence to invest however - so my £ are now heading toward X-Plane and prepar3d add-ons. Whatever the future brings it does look like it will be rosier than when we first heard of MS dropping Flight Sim 11 plans. Support whatever platform you perform - it's nice to be able to have a choice!
  4. Bunch of Xplane, FSX/Prepar3d Carenado aircraft on sale at up to 50% off, with FS2004 at up to 75% off. http://secure.simmarket.com/carenado.mhtml
  5. How are Prepar3d updates in the future going to be managed? Currently with each new "point" version launch we have to reinstall from scratch. Will this continue to be the practice, or is there an updater that could be used to make this an easier process?
  6. Just stumbled on to the Iris website and saw that they have 37% off on their aircraft. Great value! http://www.irissimulations.com.au/ols/index.php?main_page=specials&page=1
  7. I'm pretty sure that's what France VFR are doing with some of their new tech - taking photoscenery and auto adding autogen. This video gives an idea of the end result: Hopefully same thing can be implemented for vaster regions as I think it looks great.
  8. Why is this "supposedly a misleading demo"? I feel sorry for FTX. They provide some awesome free stuff and still get grief ....
  9. Good amount of flexibility it sounds - and great that it will be included as standard. You guys keep on giving which makes it a great investment. Thanks, Danny
  10. Great you guys are doing this! I have a buttkicker getting on to about 5 years now, and this enhancement is definitely going to make it better. There was recently Simvibe (http://simxperience.com/Products/SimVibe/SimVibeSoftware.aspx) which does a similar thing, but it doesn't support FSX or Preapr3d, only X-Plane10 and a bunch of car racing sims. They use each analog output of a 5.1 card to drive several buttkickers if you've got them. Don't know if this was answered, but will this be included as an Opus update, or will it be sold as a seperate utility? Thanks, Danny
  11. Yeah - I get this as well. Also assumed it was normal ... way better than the animation from FS9 even with Zinertek, but still one of those FSX things I assumed you had to live with. If there is a fix, I'll be kicking myself later ....
  12. Doesn't say cancelled, just that John is no longer involved: http://forums.x-pilot.com/topic/5888-redpiper1-is-really-pumping-them-out/?p=62559 ... Still, all very, very strange. " ..... it will probably be under a new name with a new face"
  13. Awesome stuff! And with a new Beta about to come out with new art assets and some user airports and X-Plane keeps getting better and better!
  14. Excellent news! An aircraft I very much enjoy flying!
  15. Great news - this year has brought some great innovations over the P3D and X-Plane platforms. I'm just happy the hobby keeps moving forward and I'm more than happy to use any platform that keeps evolving.
  16. WOW!!! That link is brilliant - approved images to boot! ... and that startup screen was exactly what I mentioned only a few weeks back on their forum when they asked for input. I am so looking forward to this my cup over floweth! Thanks for the link Bill!
  17. Great news on the autogen materialising - there's so much goodness coming from those guys. Any ideas how many people are in the team?
  18. Ummmm .... that's the point - he replied to you because you brought it up.
  19. Hey Alain, You keep saying let's keep this thread Prepar3d V2.0 focussed - so maybe you could stop continually going on and on and on and on and on about Orbx ..... feels a lot like spam emails. Might be best if you just start another thread dedicated to the issue you feel exists with Orbx. Then if people are interested in your opinions on Orbx you could discuss them there.
  20. Hey Gerry - if you check out the Prepar3d forums you'll see all the requests listed by users. A lot of these requests get feedback from LM. But like any developer they wont divulge roadmaps for the products evolution. This protects them from dealing with "but you said this would be in V2" comments, and allows them to release product when they feel its ready. As for a start up screen that has been agreed to be in the works in the same thread on the P3D forums -
