  1. That doesn't mean airlines have to follow what Boeing says because, as you say, they are just recommendations. The airline is allowed to change the FCOM to meet their needs as long as the procedures still meet regulatory requirements.
  2. I have never used a tablet so I can't hate you. Welcome to the forum! http://forum.avsim.net/topic/245586-you-must-sign-your-full-real-name-to-posts-to-use-this-forum-posts-without-names-will-be-deleted/ No. But if that's your real name I congratulate your parents for being so creative with your name.
  3. Maybe people's download speeds suck? Other than that I do not see why one would need a boxed version.
  4. As Stefano said, back up your installer. But at least they're not charging you another $90. Now onto the $5. I remember reading something about they have server or bandwith bills to pay or something. Could just be talking out my butt so take it with a grain of salt.
  5. You may be able to increase your performance a little if you exclude your FSX directory from being scanned. Or whatever Ryan says in the beginning of the intro manual.
  6. First off, I know the initial topic has to do with a PC. I was responding to you directly. You said that you find it hard to "imagine doing anything in this day and age that doesn't require googling something". Emphasis on anything. I was just saying that there are things that do not require googling said things. Now to me contributing adding anything productive to this conversation. Perhaps I did. Maybe I didn't but I think that's in the eye of the beholder.
  7. Painting, brake changes, rotor changes, oil changes, tire changes, installing a new washing machine, and driving do not require googling it.
  8. I'm from Phoenix. What is this winter you speak of?
  9. Don't be scared. It's just like a really cold shower.
  10. Look for the light knobs on the overhead panel, captain's/first officer's instrument panels, and the aft control panel. You can control the dome lighting with a switch on the upper overhead panel. There are also light controls where the captain's left knee and the first officer's right knee would be in real life.
  11. There's a max payload difference of only 26000 pounds. Though the 77F has a 1000 NM range benefit.
  12. Maybe when BCA starts offering the 79 in a couple decades. Buy me my ATP with a M11 type and I'll work for ya! I think their strategy is more buying/leasing lower cost airplanes that have proven themselves. What problems? Other than SWR111, the other incidents/accidents were the result of the pilots improperly operating the airplane. American, Delta, and KLM have all operated the airplane but haven't suffered any damage from it.
  13. Happy belated birthday! Keep up the good work. Mh hm...
  14. Yeah, but he can't fly the airplane worth a damn so just blame him. I mean, captains are infallible, right?
  15. Since you said everyone woke up, maybe the pilots slammed her down because no one listened to the flight attendant to wake up. The whole you MUST follow every order from a crew member and if you don't there will be repercussions thing.
  16. Not sure what a BA-style breakfast looks like but sweet Jebus an English breakfast looks mouthwatering.
  17. I remember a few single engine landings. Non-FADEC birds FTW!
  18. The 737, 738, and 739 are all painted in Delta colors. I may bring on the 736 to cover the 717's routes in the near future.
  19. I take it you're not in a good mood Kyle?
  20. Coffee? Checked. Popcorn? Checked. Comfortable seat? Checked. Before thread deletion/locked checklist complete.
  21. Understatement of the century. I would put them near the very top of the list, but I wouldn't say "bar none". There are some developers out there that are excellent at what they do and there are some that, um, could use some practice. You owe me a new computer. A gust of wind just threw it off my desk...
  22. If the setting in the PMDG Options/Equipment menu is selected to DENY, then the localizer has to be captures and tracked before the glideslope can be captured. If the option is set to allow, then either the glideslope or locailzer will be captured first. If you're in a mountainous area, I think you would want to be on the localizer before your track the glideslope to ensure you're where you need to be. But yes, you should aim to capture the glideslope from below.
  23. I was talking about the reporting of the incident between an Egyptair 77W and Lufthansa 346 three years ago. Typical news reporting. 70% dramatic and sensationalistic and 30% factual.
