  1. The forum was offline most of the day yesterday. Routine maintenance gone awry?
  2. The quick action index permit the crew to immediately locate checklists that require immediate attention. Basically, instead of flipping through 300 pages of checklists for the SMOKE, FIRE OR FUMES checklist, they can go to that index and see that it is on page X.X. There are a few checklists in the QRH that may be applicable to using the STAB CUTOUT switches.
  3. The MD-11 just didn't sell enough and there isn't a lot of demand for this bird unfortunately. If you were running a business, would you make a decision that wouldn't make you money?
  4. 50 knots? If I remember right, the MD-11 will automatically increase thrust to keep the airplane from developing a stall.
  5. They can't find the performance numbers for the domestic -400. See this discussion: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/458937-747-v2-engines/
  6. Hm, let's see. Never seen a BA 744 with a main deck cargo door. The only -400ER operator is Qantas. Through the process of elimination we are down to the base -400. Insert sarcasm smile here.
  7. Airbuses after the A320 family (I'm not sure about the A300-600/A310) include a takeoff and landing checklist that displays on the E/W screen (upper ECAM). Basically covers the basics (flaps/gear/spoiler/cabin signs/cabin ready). Then they include the ECAM actions. Basically like the non-normal checklist on the 777. Accomplish the items regarding the failure. Then refer to the QRH if needed.
  8. Bloody lawsuits. I remember playing on the monkey bars between 1st-3rd grade. Went by my old elementary school a few months ago and they got rid of 'em. But they still have the huge slide...
  9. I believe that additional installers have to be manually sent by a support member (I don't work for 'em so don't ask me why). So submit a ticket to support.precisionmanuals.com and I'm sure they'll get you up and running.
  10. Let's see: -Say goodbye to the passengers. -Pack up and get to the next airplane. -Run to get lunch (if there's time). -Run to operations, crew lounge/room, and bathroom before boarding. -Talk to maintenance. -Talk to gate agent. -Set up the nest. -Introduce yourselves to the flight attendants. -Work through preflight paperwork and flows.
  11. Use the Operations Center to view the pdf files. You can find them under the documentation tab in the 737NGX section. Or you can find them under the PMDG Simulations/PMDG 737NGX section of the Windows start menu. Or you can find them in your C:/FSX/PMDG/737NGX/Flight Manuals folder.
  12. Did you answer back? Purchase the extended download service. Then contact them via support.precisionmanuals.com.
  13. Various airports have noise reduction procedures in effect that limit the use of reverse thrust to idle (however, the crew can use up to full reverse in an abnormal/emergency situation). Also, using idle reverse saves on maintenance costs and engine wear.
  14. Someone should tell Tom to update the forum if it takes a month and a half to start a topic.
  15. Press the Post button once. With the 777, you get an introduction, QRH, FCOM V1 and V2, a tutorial, and the crew training manual.
  16. Switch the IRS mode selectors from OFF to NAV. You don't need to keep the selectors on ALIGN. The system will enter navigation mode after completing the alignment cycle provided the position is inserted in the POS INIT page in the FMS.
  17. Amen! The way I see it is you've put a lot of money and labor into a woman for the last 45 years. Then a sleek, agile 20 year old walks by and you're lost in the moment.
  18. That vest makes him look classier than the pilot's hat.

    SP2

    If/when it is ready.
  20. Welcome to the forum! You need to sign your name to your posts or they may be deleted by a moderator. Just a friendly heads up. The $350 million price tag is a joke that PMDG made before the 777 was released for FSX. They'll change it to the real price when they determine the price near the end of the development cycle.
  21. Where did you hear that PMDG was planning on developing the 787?
