  1. What materials would that be exactly? Let's see... 737 - actual manuals from Boeing 747 - actual manuals from Boeing (printed not the ones that came with the 744) MD-11 looks like an actual manual that was tailored for PMDG's requirements J41 - same as the MD-11 ... I think the 777 manuals will be extensive.
  2. No. According to Markus (one of the PMDG designers/testers for the MD-11) that is the voice of the DC-10 callouts. Not the MD-11.
  3. You can change the winds if you are in cruise, yes.
  4. Just the In/Out/Off/On times associated with ACARS is simulated. Weather is not.
  5. Ensure that the PERF INIT page is complete (press the EXEC button). Then press the LEGS key, then the RTE DATA key at 6R. Then enter your winds (e.g., 254/34. You can only enter winds for the waypoints at your cruise altitude(s).
  6. How would that be possible during a monitored approach? Hm, 2018? My bet would be that the NGX V2.0 will be a full-motion sim including the brunette F/A...
  7. Those look like artist's impressions of the exterior. I wouldn't expect anything MAX-related until there is performance numbers or other information is available.
  8. I wouldn't be surprised if Airbus installs programming that automatically pulls the nose up if there's a mountain or the ground in front of the nose. The question is do Airbus pilots know when to pull back the thrust levers? If I was an Airbus pilot (I'm not even a pilot), I'd be offended if a computer is telling me "RETARD RETARD"...
  9. Turn one of them off via the FMC Options menu.
  10. Pretty sure it's going to be the 744 as a base package and the 748 as an expansion. I'm not an authority on the subject though...
  11. Do keep in mind that a lot of aren't in service with a lot of airlines. I remember reading that right now they're just redesigning the engines.
  12. The MD-11 does not have some of the customizations that the NGX has. However, the systems programming (in my opinion) surpasses the NGX. The electrical, fuel, hydraulic, and air systems are automatic. I haven't heard of a bug that hasn't been fixed. Do you know what the bug is?
  13. I'm not a conspiracist loon, but they could always have something up their sleeves... Look at how far they were in the process at the time of the conference in Munich...
  14. Dear god, I can't believe this has gone on this long. We all have our own preferences. No one should be that their preferences are better than someone else's or that everyone needs to have the same. It's called respecting another's differences in opinion.
  15. If the AT is not armed/on, then you need to set power manually. You're flying manually, not the computer.
  16. Register and send a support ticket to PMDG at support.precisionmanuals.com.
  17. You need to buy the extended download service for the J41 for $5. Then you need to register and send a support ticket to PMDG at support.precisionmanuals.com.
  18. I think it's hypenated. Real-estate looks right. Since when does the FAA listen to anyone but money?
  19. Honeywell Aeronautics (based in Phoenix) actually does more than E/GPWS systems. They manufacture avionics, engines, systems, and repairs/overhauls.
  20. There are differences. Boeing's voice is a man with an American accent. Airbus's voice is a man with a British accent. McDonnell Douglas's voice is a man. McDonnell Douglas is different. Most of the aural alerts are female but when the GPWS comes on, it's a guys' voice. People act more quickly when they hear a man's voice. So when you hear "WHOOP! WHOOP! PULL UP!" you know to firewall the thrust levers and pull up. I don't think it's a provision in the FARs.
  21. The 737MAX is the next version of the 737 that will be in the skies around 2015. Sort of like Boeing had the original 737 (100-200), then the classic (300-500), and now the NG (600-900).
  22. My feeling is yes the 737NG is out of date. That is if you think that the NG is the only modern aircraft that I know of that doesn't tell you exactly what's going on (you have to look at a light to figure out what's going on). Perhaps the MAX will be more modern.
  23. Isn't 18R and 36L the same runway? They cannot be two different lengths. 18R/36L is 12,467 ft.
  24. I thought that Tom Landry was just the name of a fictional high school... Anyway, if you want to see the wings from the cockpit of a 744, just open the escape hatch.
  25. There was that person that wanted to use the NGX with the flight model from PSS or some other company. According to him, the NGX lands like a Cessna...
