  1. You don't have to uninstall to try the stock KA. Play with the throttle levers. I do remember that I couldn't get one airplane to start unless the throttle levers were open but just the right amount. It wasn't the KingAir, but maybe your hardware is perceived as being in the wrong position. Also, did you check that no failures are active? Maybe the engines are damaged.
  2. Did you connect external power? Did you crack throttle levers? Did you switch on ignition buttons? Did you switch off all sources of power drain, such as Master avionics, air condition?
  3. I am experiencing the same. Luckily, my settings are fairly simple (more or less all on "hard"), so regenerating it only takes me two minutes. Still, I don't like it.
  4. You can download the FSUIPC user guide at https://forum.simflight.com/topic/66137-documentation/ The stuff about Lvars is in the Advanced user guide. And yes, you are correct: it is not straightforward to assign Lvars. The reason why this is so complicated is that airplane models include hundreds, if not thousands, of variables to describe all kind of behaviour. For instance, if you change the course in the autopilot, you would need a variable for the course change button, for the the associated change in the display of the autopilot, to the change in trim axis, to the change in the actual flight behaviour. Furthermore, each developer generates custom code for their systems, which adds many more Lvars. Creating a program that can assign any Lvars to any controller needs to be very general, and that makes it hard to work with it, unfortunately.
  5. You could have a look at the registered version of FSUIPC7. Peter
  6. As the Helisimmer article mentioned, there is a lot more to the 530F than just "get up and fly". Yes, avionics is standard, but that's fairly decent by now, so there is really nothing wrong with it- especially at that price tag. You can start th3 530F from cold and dark, you have a checklist, and the flight dynamics is quite nice (I've been a beta tester). If you want to learn more about the 530F, check out the following stream, https://www.twitch.tv/videos/1836135930 The stuff about the 530F starts at about 44' . The stream also mentions other new Shrike products: the Piper PA-30 and Beale Air Force Base KBAB. Both are of very good quality as well. If I had to characterize the difference between Shrike and Blackbird Simulations products in one sentence, it would be: Shrike models have no extras (like the state saving in the Cessna 310R) but are well made and fully functionable, while Blackbird products are innovative. I am pretty sure people will enjoy the 530F and the PA-30, but they will be blown away by the SR-71 (mentioned in the video at around 11:30'). Peter
  7. My personal experience with FSDesktop was not pleasant. Despite numerous attempts of contacting the developer via web page, email, Discord, and even after I paid for the license via Paypal, I never received a response from them. Paypal was kind enough to reimburse me, but my advise is to not send them any money before you got a response from them.
  8. Not quite right. You can fly any plane you want. APL2 will only offer routes for the types of aircraft you have a license for, but nothing stops you from, say, fly an A320 route with a Cessna. You only get offered one route at a time that counts for your career, but you can also fly any other route. I just wouldn't increase your career points. As for Skypark: IMHO, that is just a random route generator that looks pretty. It has no depth whatsoever, it doesn't even fix weights. The developer of APL2 offer a free random route generator on Simmarket. That does pretty much the same, but costs $40 less.
  9. I think I would go for a rail car, despite my obsession with flight simming. You could hook it on any cargo train with minimal resources. A private jet is cool, but I am all for efficiency 🙂
  10. Could be that MSFS decided to reset your personal preferences. That happens regularly to me 🙂
  11. 1. Developer: my favorite option. Your money supports them in full, upgrades are quickly available. I am talking of "good" developers. There are some that just try to take advantage of you, so be diligent in your market research. 2. Simmarket: another good option. They deal with developers reasonably (some other distributors do not, I have first-hand information about that), have a huge selection, and a professional web page. I never had bad experiences with them, but some others here may differ. I don't use their app, I go through their web page. 3. Marketplace: I like that I can support the makers of MSFS, but that is about it. The worst aspect is that many files are encrypted, which means a lot of third-party product cannot interact with the product. For instance, a tool like GSX or FSCaptain, which needs information about airport details, may not be able to obtain that information. If you buy the product from another source, these limitations do not apply. 4. ORBX. Limited product selection, and an awful Orbs loyalty system. That system alone keeps me from buying anything there. Pity, they used to be my favorite scenery developers for P3D, but now they are a shadow of their former self.
  12. https://www.fslivetrafficliveries.com/ It is a freeware program that injects live traffic into the sim.
  13. I would suggest Vatsim, IVAO, or PilotEdge. Small footprint, real ATC controllers. My personal experience with FSHud was not good at all (for instance, it didn't work nicely with FSLTL), but it strongly depends on what you are looking for. The developers of MultiCrewExperience and Pilot2ATC offer a trial version, so you can check out if the program works for you. As long as FSHud does not offer such a trial version, I would recommend not to buy it. When I am not on Vatsim, I went back to using Pilot2ATC. Still the best off-line ATC experience for me. Peter
  14. Could you confirm that this removes the id**tic "bandwidth too low, click OK" pop-up? That would be a really big thing for me.
  15. Thanks! I started a bug reporting thread.
  16. I love Simaddon sceneries and bought way too many of them over the years. But, just for the record, Ralph is based in Switzerland. I am all the more indebted to him for taking care of Canada 🙂 Peter
  17. As the title says: https://www.avsim.com/discover/unread/ does not work again. Peter

    BIG BANG

It was the good old times 🙂
  19. Regarding the stall: did you enter the initial trim in the MCDU? You can most conveniently do that using the tablet.
  20. This happened to me a long time ago. If I recall correctly, it was due to a bug and was fixed in the beta version. If you are not using the beta version, I suggest trying it.
  21. I tried FSHud a week or two ago. It wasn't for me, I happily returned to Pilot2ATC. Picking an ATC program is a very personal choice. It turned out that I don't care too much about traffic being managed, probably because I prefer smaller airports where traffic volume is low. Using voice for ATC communication is much more important to me, and that's why I prefer Pilot2ATC.
  22. It is a question of personal taste whether you use payware airports or not. You can spend $2000 every year if you always want to fly to a nice scenery, or nothing if you are fine with default airports. Most people will probably be somewhere between these two extremes. I would suggest the following. - Think carefully about which airports you fly frequently to. IMHO, there is no point in spending $20 on an airport that you my fly to once. - Once you know which airports are your favorites, check out Flightsim.to. With some luck, you may find a descent freeware airport that suits your needs. Quite a few airports there are better than a lot of poorly made payware airports. And even when there is a better payware alternative, you might be fine with the freeware version if you only fly there once or twice. - If you found a payware airport that you like, buy it. You can then see for yourself whether it is worthwhile for you purchasing more.
  23. Only sometimes. The quicker I click, the more likely it appears to be. I mada another successful flight yesterday, being concious to click slowly 🙂
