  1. My current favorites & ranking 1..........A2A Cherokee 2.........Carenado PC12 3........Q400 Cheers
  2. Gentlemen, Thanks for your kind comments. The resize of the scans has resulted in a loss of definition, but in case your interested, I can read from the original scanned panel shot these facts...... 31020 ft.....................mach .831 on the left... mach .838 on the right ( different pitot source maybe ? ) Hdg 340....................154nm NW of the Brunei VOR. I was lucky in having the jump seat From T/O Brunei, till landing at KaiTak. Which was a tragedy (not) as I missed the second bottle of Bollinger !!! Cheers TonyM
  3. Hey Skully !!! Thanks heaps for those shots, brought back pleasant memories of a flight I did in Feb 82, Business class on this magnificent aircraft. Perth-HongKong-Perth. Allow me to share with you 4 shots (apologies for the scratchy colour slide scans) that I took on this flight. I can still taste the lobster ( West Australian of course !!) and the Bollinger. (sigh !) About to board at Perth(aerobridges ? whats that) Nice when you know the crew. Ready to board by bus at Hongkong(Kai Tak no less !) OMG, I can hear & feel those rollers !!!! B) Enjoy Guys !!! Cheers TonyM
  4. Don't use FShost But.... In direct connect (without FShost) has worked fine for me on 3 different flights. Cheers TonyM
  5. Do it quite a lot. Outback Australia, with FTX all regions installed and with approx 300 OZX strips, none of which have AFCADs, so they don,t come up on GPS. Nothing more rewarding than after a 40-50min flight in a small single, over vast red countryside, when a tiny dirt strip appears. Nothing more frustrating ,when it does NOT !!! Cheers TonyM
  6. Thanks for your kind comments. What made it special , was that there were 6 others, all sharing the magic of a dawn flight.  Ah !!!........... the joys of multiplayer !!! Cheers :australia-flag: TonyM
  7. Hi James, I hosted our OZX Club flight last night and we topped out at 11 in the session, no jerkiness, smooth as..... Thats using direct connect only, no other stuff such as FS Host etc etc, And Teamspeak for comms.. All FPS locked at 30 or less and NO flooding aircraft in session, a prime cause of what you describe. While a good internet download rate is good, I am led to believe that the hosts UPLOAD speed needs to be reasonable as well. But we were more than happy with our "post gamespy" flight. Cheers TonyM
  8. Greeting, Thought it about time I tried posting a screenie here. This one taken last night on the OZX Flying club multiplayer session. tracking from Wellington to Koromiko(Picton) in NZNI A number of players loaded a REX theme specific to this flight, so makes it cool, when others can see similar results Enjoy Cheers TonyM
  9. Hi, Loss of Gamespy no real biggie in my case. Our very active flying Club (OZX) had regular night session with up to 15 flying together. We now have 5 (including me) hosting via direct connect, and IMHO its better than ever. Once you get your router port forwarding sorted, it works fine. Only advice I could give for club/private session, do not post on the net, your IP address. We just meet up on teamspeak at an arranged time, and verbally give out that address. Happy flying !!! TonyM
  10. @YTZPILOT Nice pic !!!! But why are they dressed in black. ?? And what sport is that !!! Wait,..... I think its called Regby Onion...or something like that !!! I think its similar to football, which is whats played here in WA. Or Gridlock, which is played in US ???? Beers    TonyM (how that for sending a thread off topic )
  11. Oh Dear.... OZ vs Kiwi argument again..... Everyone knows that NZ is much better than OZ, thats why 50K kiwis move to OZ each year........ Only kidding dudes......but.when it comes to a blue, the word ANZAC makes the rest of the world run for cover. Be afraid  cheers TonyM
  12. Really !!! I have used it many times, its there............. airside Cheers TonyM
  13. Gentlemen, The grand opening of this awesome freeware, took place last night. http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/topic/13231-ants-tribute-flight-150612/page__pid__104361#entry104361 Ant, you should have been there, the sight of all your magnificent Tiger Moths overflying, .... well it would have made you proud. Cheers TonyM,
  14. Gentlemen, With a new system up and running my ability to host has taken a leap forward. Handling up to 15 online, no longer causes me texture load problems. The OZX flying club is really rockin lately, and you may wish to have a look at some screenies we posted last night. The occasion.....release of Anthony Lynch's (Ants Airplanes) awesome new freeware of YBNA (Ballina/Byron Bay) airport. To honour his amazing work we decided to have a mass flyin, using his, superb, freeware Tiger Moth. Most of his stuff is downloadable from the OZX site, and although time differences can be a pain, we even had a couple of UK pilots join us. Anyway, check the shots out here... http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/topic/13231-ants-tribute-flight-150612/ Enjoy !!!! Cheers TonyM
  15. Definitely an issue, Jay (aka the caped crusader) is on to it More info on here http://aussiex.org/forum/index.php?/topic/12444-orbx-forum-26042012-server-down-for-jay/ Cheers TonyM
  16. Full screen always, the sim just looks better IMHO. And I get marginally better FPS in full screen. ALt + ENTER always works for me with one big exception. When in multiplayer mode it results in black screen every time, Strange innit.? but not a big problem...... As I use TS3 for in flight comms, the laptop runs that. as well as charts etc Cheers TonyM

Tom, A great new facility for FSX addicts !!! Well not that new .... At OZX, our TS3 has been the hub of activity for over 3 years now, and, frankly we would be lost without it. With the ability to customise the channels, its a place where a forum name suddenly become a real person, and thats just one benefit. We use it for online flying comms, the developers use it to meet and plan new scenery, its an amazing tool. Many thanks for encouraging folks to come alone and be involved. To those that havn't tried it, give it a go, you will enjoy !!! Best regards from "down under" Cheers TonyM
  18. Hi Stick, Just cruising thru the forums, hope you were able to get into FSX multiplayer. We use the TS method of comms in our flying club, where we fly every Friday at 0930Z. Its a regular thing ! So our approach is to post in our forum calendar the details of the upcoming session. And at the assigned time, "bingo" TS starts rocking !!! Unfortunately as an Aussie based group, its not good timing for UK simmers. Multiplayer in FSX is addictive and in most cases the connection give SMOOTH motion between aircraft, so formation flying looks awesome. Our TS channel gets quite crowded with up to 15 in the air some nights. I know your post is a few weeks old now, but if you need more help, PM me and i am happy to send you our basic info on joining a session. Info on our club flying can also be found here http://aussiex.org/f...zx-flying-club/ However if your already up to speed, ignore this post and continue with the addiction. And joining the guys here on Avsim, sounds like a blast as well Cheers TonyM
  19. Hendo, Not anymore !!!!!!!! Just see what a little goodwill rather than confrontation can achieve. Over to you now, see you online next Friday !! But remember, I have a can of I TRIED TO USE A PROFANITY HERE - AREN'T I STUPID! repellant close by my mic Cheers :drinks: TonyM
  20. Hey Hendo !, Not to my knowledge !!!, but because the club operates within OZx, any ban you copped, I guess, it kinda means just that. And of course as TS3 is an integral part of our flying... well... My original advice to you still stands, but of course, only you can decide. Cheers TonyM Hey Tom, Thanks for allowing me to post here !!!! To quote an old army saying "no names, no pack drill " But I did say "big" not "biggest" Cheers TonyM
  21. Gentlemen, Allow me ,if I may to put the OZX case !!! Let me assure you of one thing, there is absolutely no similarity between ORBX and OZx as far as the general atmosphere, or moderation( and I am a mod at OZx ) Its got to be a pretty serious offence to get banned from our forums and to cop a ban usually means that something has gone on behind the scenes, which has been unacceptable. True ,we lost our way a bit, when some devs moved camp, and others just decided that rather than move camp, they would give the game away. We lost an excellent developer in Mark Lee, who I believe just got sick of the politics and behind the scenes bickering that was going on. At this point ,the future was not looking so good, and I had grave fears for the future of OZx. But then things began to improve. Another sim group, who were to close their website, made OZx their new home, and there are some talented devs starting to get together and organize things. Through all of this I managed to keep the Flying Club running and believe it or not, at the time when moral was pretty much at its lowest, we could easily get up to 15 in our regular Friday night session. So there was still life out there !!! When Jaykae called for donations to help keep the site running it quickly reached the target, and even, as I understand it, has a small surplus for future use. Also its worth noting that OZX is not strictly a flt sim site now, as Jaykae, in his efforts to A. be even handed B. keep the place alive, has included other interests such as bus simulation amongst others. So I believe that with goodwill from within and support from you guys outside, there will be some exciting new scenery coming thru, in particular for you "bush flyers" our there who dont want to, or whose hardware cannot run massive computer killing scenery. So thats my positive take on all this. Now for one negative and a warning. You know, I only discovered this thread by accident and will probably will not be a frequent poster, but my first post was, in a manner of speaking, dropping a baited line into a pond, and seeing who got hooked. Every word here is being closely monitored. And guess what !!! within 2hrs, I got me a big one. !! So thats all I wanted to say ( I thinks its enough, don't you?] Except one final thought. OZx and ORBX are not the same, with common sense and courtesy you are all very welcome at our place. Cheers TonyM
  22. Hi, So this is where you all are... I was wondering where all the whingers went !!!!!  Only kidding....mind if I join ya . I want senior preferred status, as i have been banned more often and longer than a lot of you guys. OK, serious now Sad to read back thru this thread, I always felt I was singled out but know now that was NOT the case. At least the OZx forum has rebounded and looks like taking off with some good new scenery in the pipeline. And the flying club is still cruising along. Hendo, i dont know what happened in your case. Getting an ORBX ban is no big deal these days, but from OZx......well.... I have enormous respect for Jaykae, he has walked a fine line between the two camps for a long time, and I reckon has put up with a lot of s**t for quite a while now. So my advice my friend, is to step back, mend any bridges that you may have broken, and get back to just enjoying the hobby. And to all you other guys, great to see your still around. Cheers  TonyM
