  3. Hello, I just tried downloading the file and I successfully downloaded it with no problems. I suggest you try again one more time and report the results. Also, are you able to download other files (from AVSIM or any other website) larger than this file successfully?

Hello, There are a number of AFCADs uploaded to the Library that are edits of payware AFCAD/Scenery files, however, as mentioned above, you must check the EULA of the product you're editing to see if uploading your edit is allowed or not .If the EULA doesn't clearly cover this point then you may contact the author(s) of the original payware files and ask for their permission.
  6. Hello, I just tried downloading the mentioned file and I got download speeds averaging ~95 kB/s (my connection is a 1 Mbps ADSL). So please try downloading again. If you get any error messages, try to copy them here so that we can get a better picture of what's exactly happening.

  8. Hi Bob, I have personally replied to your 3 emails plus sending you a fourth one on the day you uploaded your file. If you didn't receive them I suggest you check your spam/junk folder, sometimes our emails end up there. Also, adding 'library[at]avsim[dot]net' to your email's white list is a good measure to make sure you receive our emails. Regarding the MD5 checksum, this is intended to check the integrity of the file we receive to make sure it hasn't got corrupted while being uploaded. Due to how the Internet works, sometimes files get corrupted during their passage through server. For more info, please refer to this: http://www.howtogeek.com/67241/htg-explains-what-are-md5-sha-1-hashes-and-how-do-i-check-them/ This may be a bit advanced, but it'll provide you with what you need if you really want to check and compare the MD5 checksum.

As a general, non-official, totally unrealistic rule of thumb that I tend to use when flying casually (offline) and when I don't have the appropriate charts: I aim to intercept the LOC at a distance of 8-10 NM and at altitude 2200-2500 ft above airport elevation assuming the surrounding terrain allows it.

Our IT chaps have cast a few repair spells at the servers and all our tests are able to download normally now even via IE, so I ask you to please try again now and report your results whether you are able to download or not. Thanks in advance. Some changes were being carried out server-side during the hour just before your post, I kindly ask you to try again now and if you have more troubles please send us some screenshots of the errors or simply write them here.
  14. Thanks for all your replies, hopefully our IT chaps will use the available info to troubleshoot the problem. Not all users are lucky like you, I for instance have been unable download from the Library for months using FDM (my usual download manager) but I'm able to download normally using the Chrome default manager, which is still working to this moment! My request is based on the concept of "fault isolation" where we try to minimize the variables affecting the problem to narrow down its causes. To further explain: if a user who uses a download manager has a problem, the problem could be caused by the server, the browser or the download manager (assuming his ISP, router/modem and firewall are working as they should). But if the same users faces the same problem while not using the download manager, we can narrow down the possible causes to 2 things only, the server and the browser.

Due to the large number of users having problems downloading since the server maintenance on November 7th, I'm starting this topic so that it would be a central place to gather all info and discuss the possible solutions. I will keep editing this topic whenever a relevant piece of info pops up. For now there is only 1 verified problem: Users using Internet Explorer (version 10 and 11) are unable to download files at all (Error: Page cannot be displayed). So for now, users with IE, please use another web browser and if you have trouble with other browsers please refer to the paragraph below on Firefox and Chrome. Sorry for that. Regarding other web browsers: Regarding Microsoft Edge, we have had very few complaints about Edge but all of them are almost identical to the IE problem with "Page cannot be displayed error". I'd appreciate if users who have Windows 10 can try downloading via Edge and report the results so as to confirm whither the problem persists or not. Regarding Firefox and Chrome, these 2 browsers seem to work for some users and don't work for others. Users having trouble with any of them, please try the following: If you are using and download accelerator/manager programs, disable them and try downloading using the browser's default download manager and report the results and any error messages you receive along with the browser's version number. If you are having problems with the default download manager, try using the InPrivate/Incognito mode to download and report the results. Note: Do NOT use Safari while trying to download files, Safari is known to cause problems with Library. This issue has been around for a long time and is not related to the recent server maintenance. The problem with Safari is related to how the browser reads ZIP files and is not related to the AVSIM Library, it also affects Safari users trying to download ZIP files regardless of the file source. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT AT 11-NOV 16:31z: Our IT chaps have made some changes and download are working normally during our tests, please try downloading again now and report your results. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- EDIT AT 17-NOV 21:16z Problem confirmed to be fixed on all browsers, also the problem with CAN Mesh X files has been fixed.   19. As I've just said over at the other two topics, try logging out, clearing you cookie cache and then try downloading again. And please send us any error messages you receive.
  20. Seems that most are having issues with IE11 and Chrome, can you guys please log out, clear you cookie cache and try again? If afterwards you receive any error messages please send them to us here or at 'library[at]avsim[dot]com'.
  21. Hello, What exactly is the error you receive when trying to download files? As a general tip and based on my experience with the Library: try logging out from your Library account, clearing your browser's cookie cache and then login again and try downloading. Sometimes after server maintenance old cookies (old as in cookies created before the maintenance) cause some conflicts.
  22. As you probably all have guessed, this error indicates that the max number of active users connected simultaneously has been reached, thus the only solution is to wait a few minutes while some users finish downloading and then try again. Sorry for the inconvenience.
  23. So far, it seems that there has been a recent change in Firefox that is causing this, but we cannot be sure as we have had some changes in the Library code as well. But without exact error messages and/or error logs it will be almost impossible to determine the exact the cause of this problem. What exactly is the error message(s) you receive?
  24. Please report the result of the following: 1) Does this happen all the time with all files you try to download or with certain files only? If certain files, Are you able to download those files at a later time? 2) The next time you get this error in Firefox, please try another browser and report if the same error occurs.
