Ray, I had a similar problem when I first got the 737ngx. I was running it on an old machine in my case it ended up being the antivirus kicking off a scan or both windows and the antivirus deciding they needed to download updates. I built a new rig which helped greatly but the antivirus doing its thing can still cause problems. Before I launch FSX I turn off the live scanning feature of the Antivirus. Just a thought. Morning Mike, Open up a trouble ticket with PMDG and let them know what and why you are doing. I did this about a month ago and mine was reset within about 30 minutes from the time I opened the ticket. R/ Pete McMahon

Hey Kyle, I have REX and it does offer smoothing options which I do have enabled but I still get the results I described earlier in a post to this thread. Will FSUIPC work with REX to address this issue? R/ Pete McMahon

Chris, Sounds like you may need to do a Clean Re Install on FSX as you said you already did one for the NGX. R/ Pete McMahon

I havent had the bank angle issue. But I am getting problems with airspeed. I am currently running the NGX with REX and anytime REX goes out to get the latest wheather and generate it for the next area which seems to be about every 80 -120 miles along my course the wind will change direction all of a sudden while the wheather injection is occuring. I go from having an 80mph tailwind to headwing and back again. It reaks havoc on my speed. The plane gets tossed around pretty good but nothing extreme like you are experiencing. I do have turbulence turned off in FSX. I aslo found a link in another posting that said to change your turbulence setting in the fsx.cfg file from 1.000000 to .500000 which I tried last night and still had the problem. I have heard that FSUIPC will help with this but not sure. I guess that is probably my next purchase. I just hate to spend money on it if I don't need it. Pete McMahon

Stelios, Yes you can take off without the FMC being programmed. Yes you can change the altitude and height manually. For altitude enter your desired altitude and rate of climb then press the altitude intervene button. Never had any issues with the heading button just dialed up my heading then hit the heading button. Pete McMahon

I don't know if payware is the actual fix. I bought REX two weeks ago. I love it. But I have noticed it tosses my plane around pretty good everytime the weather updates. I haven't noticed the wind be inaccurate but I do have my turbulance and shear settings on low. I also have smoothing enabled and still get tossed around pretty good. Pete McMahon

Andrea, I had this problem too when I first got the NGX about 2 months ago. I found a post in the forum somewhere I can't remember where. But it said once the NGX has done its little countdown to powering up when you first load your flight press the F1 key and then apply your parking brakes. I tried this and I have not had this problem since. But of course I do this little procedure everytime I first start up with NGX. Hope this helps. Pete McMahon

Also when you set up your flight. Instead of load cold and dark tutorial 2. From freeflight load the NGX at O'hare. Then go into the FMC and then choose cold and dark. If that doesn't work then there maybe other issues with your PC. Pete McMahon

Morning All, Just wanted to post what I found out about what was going on in the background to this problem. Alright so what was going on was this. I have dual saitek quadrants and had programed the respective buttons underneath the throttles to cut off the engine fuel flow. When I would park at a gate I would hit those buttons and the engines would shutdown. When I would pushback from the gate and go to start the engines I would once again push the buttons to return fuel flow and start the engines. The engines would spool up and present the appearance of having actually started (but they haven't). The readings are just slightly off. What I noticed was that when I pressed one of the buttons on the throttle quadrant the corresponding lever on the display did not move to the cutoff or open position. So I tried parking at a gate I shut the first engine down with the throttle quadrant and the second engine using my mouse and hitting the lever on the display. When it came time to start the engines again the first engine did not start all the way and had no throttle response. The second engine started completely and had throttle response (also a difference in sound.) At that point I manually cycled the lever for engine one on the display and it fired right up. Not sure what the fix is. But if anyone else is having this problem I hope this helps. R/ Pete McMahon

The only time I have had this issue is when I was trying out the demo version of fsdreamteam KDFW airport scenery. The Demo only stays active for like 5 minutes then everything dissappears except for the jetways. I ended up buying the KDFW scenery it looks great and no more problem. Pete

Hello Everyone, GOt a question for you all. I have had my NGX now for about a 2months and I am still learning all the little ins and outs of it. My questions deals with the short turnaround panel state. Does anyone have a checklist for the actions that need to be done to get this plane ready to fly from this state. I thought I could improvise from the tutorials what needed to be done and have had mixed results i.e. (one engine wouldn't start and another the throttles would move but the engines stayed at idle). Any help you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks, Pete

Good Morning, I have a question for all of you. I currently have the PMDG 737NGX and I love it. I am building a home cockpit and have been mulling the questions of whether to go the whole Triplehead2go route or network computers route. Ideally I plan on having 3 monitors up top for my external views then I was thinking two monitors for the glass cockpit. I came across IFLY737NG Cockpit Builders Edition the other night and it does exactly what I want it to (network pc's to display the gauages in any configuration I want and let the maind FSX pc handle the external views). So here are my questions. Is the flight characteristics of IFLY737NG similar to PMDG737NGX? Second does PMDG have a product similar to the IFLY737NG Cockpit Builders Edition? No idea on the CH products as I have never used them. I just recently switched from a Saitek joystick to the Pro Flight Yoke and pedals. They have been great so far and I wish had upgraded to them years ago. R/ Pete
